Delicioso!! After 7 days touring Italy, this was THE place for the Italian food experience. Tucked away in a little alleyway off of a plaza, the host was welcoming to these lost foodie souls. The pastas were incredible. Gnocchi with fresh mint cream sauce, Pasta with Clams...I could go on for days. The smoked salmon alla Rosolo antipasti was absolutely gorgeous and melts in your mouth. The waiter and host were generous, kind, and patient with my broken attempts at Italian, and even helped me to perfect my pronunciation of "Delicioso" ("Day-LeeTS-ee-oh-so"). We had a delightful conversation with a traveler from Denmark, and a large party of locals showed up for a patio siesta! It was everything! When in Lucca (which I've decided is a requirement if you find yourself anywhere near the central/Florentine region of Italy) ...go here. Just visit Lucca. As my local friend states, it is an Italian paradise. Stunning. An oasis. One of the most well-preserved medieval cities to be explored in Italy.

So flavorful and swordfish was very juicy and tender! Server was great and recommended a wonderful bottle of Lucca red.

What an incredible dinner for our last night in Lucca, great location right off the main piazza. We arrived around 7:30 and only waited 10min to be seated. Parties arriving later waited upwards of an hour so go early! The food is phenomenal. From the ridiculously fresh burrata salad to the perfectly cooked/flavored pasta to the tagliata. We enjoyed every piece of our meal. The man who served us was entertaining and really ran the show so efficiently. Recommend a dinner here one night!

Great place to eat in Lucca. We had the pasta with Branzino, the pappardelle with wild boar, the octopus salad , the farro soup and the beef tartare. Nothing shorty of delicious! We had to come back the following night for more!!

    Mushroom Ravioli -- delicious!

When in Lucca, this is the place for dinner! Our group of seven had dinner here and we all enjoyed it. I had mushroom ravioli and it was delicious! Quiet side street, centrally located, and good Tuscan food.

One of the better restaurants in Lucca. I had the bruschetta appetizer which was pretty good but nothing special. For the main course I had pasta with sea bass which was recommended by my server. I had been in Tuscany for so long that I was tired of ragù, boar, and some of the other traditional Tuscan dishes so I wanted something different and it was excellent. I was told it's a little spicy but "little" is a good description. Spicy enough to make it interesting but not overpowering. I matched it with a nice local white wine. All in all, an excellent experience.

Pizza Ristorante across the way, our food looked better!

Amazing place to eat in an amazing little Italian town of Lucca. So we were told on our Big Red Bus Tour that the average Italian consumes 60 pounds of pasta a year, well I'm working on it. You must admit it is hard to resist when you are in this environment with fresh pasta daily. Our concierge told us if a great family owned and operated restaurant but on the way we found Osteria DaRosolo, I had to stop once I saw the food everyone was eating (I love patio seating for that reason). The gentleman that greeted us was so nice and funny, we were done we wanted everything. We started with the Beef Tartar and is was wonderful very delicious flavor with the pears on top. My husband ordered the salted cod, wow this was something neither us had ever had before, it was so good!!! I ordered my favorite pasta with clams, omg so many clams and the flavor was perfect not to much seasoning just right. If you are visiting Lucca please make this a must. We will be back, I saw many things on the menu I want to try

    Bolognese Ravioli

Overall, the food was pretty decent and the experience was fine. I saw this place had great ratings on Google Maps, so decided to stop by. I think I came here a bit too early, I was the first and only one in the restaurant when I walked in around 11:45am, one more couple came in later. It was a nice, dim environment with nice interior and a relaxing calm environment - this might've been the case because the restaurant was pretty empty too. Anyways, had the bolognese ravioli, I think it was a bit more expensive than I expected. I don't remember right now but something like 13 - 16 euros. I think there might've been too much meat for my liking because I think the ravioli also had meat inside and had bolognese on the outside but don't get me wrong it was still really tasty, cooked al dente with great texture and was definitely good! I feel like it could've been better though. Anyways, good food but not the most memorable from Italy.

Both the gorgonzola gnocchi and the lasagna were some of the best dishes we have had in Lucca. Great service and a super helpful staff

What a lovely place to dine near Piazza San Michele. They don't take reservations but the wait was worth it.

Part of me feels like bravo you don't wanna be locked in. But part of me feels like that then you don't want to have to have standards. ‍‍ My husband got the ravioli with spinach and it was "OK". Keep in mind we are American Italian. And so European food is very different in general. You have to have an open mind that it is not going to be like what you're used to. I got the risotto With Chianti wine and it was truly delicious. Although the rice was a little bit al dente for me. The bread was amazing. The olive oil was absolutely top shelf. Made in Luca. They gave us these little pizza bites. That were also actually amazing. The sauce on the pizza bites were fantastic. I think the biggest thing was that I thought I had made a reservation for 8 o'clock. But apparently it was for the next night!! And they squeezed us in anyway! Then I forgot to take pictures as I always do because I'm too busy sticking my face in my food. So I only have pictures of the bread and the pizza bites lol. We got a very interesting dessert that was made in a meringue shell with tart cherries and chocolate and cream, and it was truly a delight. It was very small, but it was all you needed. So I do recommend that. Overall, I think the whole experience was lovely and I would come here again.

However, after choosing our selections we were very pleased with a thick, hearty, and filling farro soup - one of the best we tried in Lucca. However, even better was a delicious and seemingly unconventional pasta with cheese and mint (ever so slight mint taste) and mild yellow tomato sauce - a winning combination. If it is not a permanent menu item, it should be! The bruschetta gets a top grade as well. Brava! We can't forget to complement our serving staff who were so friendly as we tried to practice our Italian. Fortunately they also spoke English and made sure everything was going well at our table. Our compliments to the chef.

Turns out that this year, Lucca was hosting the Italy Comics Convention during that same wknd. Soo...the city was packed. We found this restaurant randomly and skimmed the menu before deciding to find a seat and eat. What drew us here was when my husband found out they served ribolitta! I am NOT a fan of ribolitta, but apparently - my husband is! Ribolitta is famous Tuscan soup, a hearty potage made with bread and vegetables. Not many restaurants serve it for some reason, prolly because it takes awhile to eat and not many tourists actually want to order it. Ribolitta, 7 e - i have no comments re: this dish, but my husband kept claiming "wow, this is actually really good, i'm so glad I ordered it!" Tortellini Lucchesi al Ragu, 8 e - meat sauce with your tortellini, can't go wrong with that right? Pizza all'arrabiata with mozzarella, 5 e - you can't go wrong w/ the basic tomato based pizza! My husband was thrilled. He got his ribolitta and we didn't even have to wait long to get our meal, especially w/ the herds of people arriving in Lucca for Comicon. Outdoor seating available!
