(#1 Why was I not given that info when I made my appointment a week ago?) 30 minutes before the appointment they called to say that Alura had to leave so they needed to cancel my appointment. The next available appointment with Ariel isn't until 2-1/2 weeks from now. But they can get me in with Alura sooner. (#2 Alura just left me in the lurch. What makes you think I am going to ever book an appointment with her?) I honestly wonder how businesses stay open with this lack of good customer service.

I attribute the weight loss to getting up and showing up 4 days a week at the Spa. I am definitely feeling better and doing more activities. I'll tell you later how I restored an inch in height. Here is the equipment I use. The Hydration Station: It's like a steam room in a large capsule. I go for medium setting. I elevate my knees into the steam cloud along with my hands. The arthritis feels much better. The Sun Angel: Not for tanning purposes. For me.We set it to Essentials. The light frequency lets your body develop vitamin D naturally. I think this has helped my bones as well. Be sure to wear eye protection. 3. I also use the Cocoon and the Poly. The cocoon operates on infrared (IR heat). It's like crawling into a heating pad sooo good. No arthritic pain after that for me. Temporarily but getting better. I use the red LED on the poly. I'm not really worried about wrinkles but it does help. 4. The Beauty Angel is the maximum red light therapy you can get. When I come out of there my whole body feels charged. The mitochondria (battery in each cell of your body) is stimulated and can work harder) get charged up. This too is good for arthritis. I keep my arms above my head to help the lymph nodes under my arm and expose my Gluteus Maximums. Places where the sun hardly ever shines. 5. The HydroWave. My first experience with it was I heard my backbone ripple and relax. This is always the last thing I do before I leave the Spa. I really do believe I got back my youthful stature of 6'2 from just relaxing. When the operators are not at the front desk. That means they are helping someone or inside the equipment cleaning it. Be sure to grab a free bottle of water on your way out to prevent dehydration. I'm not a doctor, I just enjoy the Spa.

My hubby and i had dinner next door and I got the wild idea to surprise him by getting a wax. I looked at the website and found that it was an easy process to book a service and they had availability the next day before I could chicken out. I arrived early and checked in. There is a small waiting area with various potions for sale along one wall. It was very minimalistic, clean and modern. Watching the people walk by outside distracted me from what I was about to do. I noted that I didn't hear anyone screaming so it must be ok. At my appointment time this tiny little sadist came out and got me. She was sweet and soft spoken. We get into her room where she closed the door and told me to take off my pants. Just like that?!? No dinner? No cocktail? No niceties, just "take off my pants" while she's standing there? Ack! I shrugged it off, thinking she was going to clearly see everything anyway but eek. She told me to lay face up on the table and assume the butterfly position. I told her to be gentle because it's my first time. She explained about the wax they use and a little about the process. She asked if I had watched any videos or anything then giggled when I said no. She assured me I'd be fine.... The nice lady then begins to apply hot wax to my most sensitive areas. Starting along the top and sides. This is when reality kicks in that she's going to have to rip it off, and rip it off she did. I kept my cool, focused on breathing. While I was distracted she did it AGAIN! On the same area!!! At this point I'm considering calling this whole thing off, but then I feel hot wax in an even more sensitive spot! And it is running INTO PLACES!!!! Into!!! Then I'm really concerned because I'm worried she is going to just flat out rip my lady parts off!!! Can that happen? Will I die? And then, she rips the wax. The most searing hot pain I have ever felt in my life rips the very breath from my body. You guys? This is worse than child birth. I've had four kids with horrible back labor and this was worse!!!!!! Then I feel the wax on the other side. At this point, I'm clutching my hair in my hands, sweating, tearing up, barely breathing, I mayyy die after all. The nice sadist lady notices I'm shaking and says she going to give me a minute. I whimper out a breathless thanks. She tells me that I'm halfway through the worst part. Ugh. Then sends me back into it. I felt my soul leave my body. But then she re-waxes those same areas several times to "get the little hairs" that had been left behind. I think she was just enjoying herself by causing me pain lol. So then it's over, right? Wrong! Now she tells me to hug my knees to my chest so she has access to my OTHER sensitive area. I start to quiver and she tells me it's the easiest part and quite honestly, she was right. NOW it's over, right? Nope. Now she wants to tweeze any strays she sees. I'm thinking to myself I've used tweezers a time or two, this part will be fine. I was wrong. Very wrong. It literally felt like she dug the tweezers deep into my pores themselves and rooted around for things. After a few tweezes she decides I've had enough since I was in so much pain and my skin was very angry at us. She finished me off with a soothing serum that she says will help with the irritation and prevent ingrowns and suggested that I purchase some to use at home. At this point I will do anything to get out of this torture room. I go to check out and they offer me a membership package because apparently people choose to do this to themselves more than once? I don't know if I'm those people. There you have it. The good, the bad, the ugly. Now that it's over it's almost like getting a tattoo. It hurts like hell but you think "I did that" and survived. I don't know yet if I'll do it again or not but we shall see....

I then received a TEXT not a phone call stating that the made a scheduling error and if I could come at 10:30. So unprofessional. My concern was if I made the appointment for 8am and had waited for them to finally come, how would they have accommodated me? Nonetheless. If you're not in to that smell, you might not like the lotions at Seabolt and Co. Also the lotions/body sprays are more expensive than say, B&BWs.

The cashier apologized profusely several times due to my unexpected wait. Once called back to what was supposed to be the waxing room, I was a little surprised to see a back room that looked to be a broom closet under construction with peeling paint. It was the polar opposite of the front part of the store which is elegant & beautiful. Afterwards, I was only charged for the half price Brazilian so I'm guessing the underarm wax was comped due to my 45 minute wait. I was appreciative and bought some lovely smelling pineapple bath salts for $6. Making things right is good customer service. I would like to give it another try but only if the waxing room looks a lot more inviting.
