The airport personal are efficient and have great English. Always a help!! We used Fast Pass for Security & have European Passports... so at a major advantage. They have a huge Duty Free to browse. We used the Business Lounge and again... small but has everything you could want. Great coffee & a nice selection of breakfast items. They were amazingly patient with some folks ahead of me: definitely would have tested the TSA's resistance to yelling at them. I didn't experience much of the shopping and dining here but it seemed very generic and non-descript. You'll see stores selling "local" products that are quite pricey, regular chain restaurants, and some duty-free. I only went to the grocery store before security and it was okay, though I'm sure there was an upcharge for the location. The bathrooms are meh but I've seen worse. They're not the cleanest, but, not disasters. The airport has these uber stations to arrange for a ride. I just used my phone and relied on a hot spot. Uber pickup for me was upstairs on the second floor departure level, strangely.

Eating Prague Tours turned out to be just the ticket. It is a bit pricey - around 75 euros (about $81 USD) for a 4-hour (12:30 -4:30 pm) small group tour of 6-10 people, but you can get quite stuffed by the end of it! We had a knowledgeable and enthusiastic local guide to take us to cafes, restaurants, and bistros, where we sampled poppyseed kolacky, open-faced sandwiches, Prague ham and sausages, a divine sauerkraut soup, Czech dumplings, and apple strudel. (The particular 6-7 stops vary by season.) In addition to the food & drink, we learned a bit about Czech history and interesting tidbits about the city itself as we walked the cobblestone streets to each spot. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately it was not the best experience. Our pick up time was 4 pm, Prague-time. I made sure we were in the lobby a few minutes before in case they were early so we could take advantage of a break in the rain we had been receiving that day. But there was no Old Car. After 15 minutes without a car and no word from the company, I sent an email to them and received a response that the car was minutes away. It did not arrive until after 430, nearly the time that our 40-minute ride would be coming to an end. As an apology, the driver had a bottle of prosecco. Very nice, but I don't drink. My traveling companions had some but it was a rainy, windy day so it wasn't the best choice in terms of beverage selections! We started with the top down but soon after we needed to pull over and put it on because the rain started up again. If it's raining, you might as well tool around Prague in an Uber because it's hard to see anything or take any pictures. The blankets supplied helped keep us warm and dry-ish but really dampened the entire experience. Had the driver come on time, it would have been a dry ride and a completely different experience.

First, our guide: Klara was a fabulous and fascinating tour guide (even if she did throw shade at one of my favorite stores, Primark!), her mix of North American knowledge compliments her Czech sensibilities. She did a great job of introducing the groups and laying the groundwork for us. Here was our tour: 1. We started with Pilsner Urquell beer (or alternatively the dark Kozel beer), fried cheese with tartare sauce, marinated carp, a selection of sausages with mustard, potato salad, and Prague ham with creamed horseradish at the Lokal pub over at Dlouha 33. There was also some pickled fish and Czech Gothaj salami with onions. While the food here wasn't my favorite, I did try pretty much everything and nothing was too weird or gross for me! 2. We continued to Kantyna at Politickych veznu 5, where we tried the beef tartare, pulled pork, schnitzel made with pork neck and some pickled vegetables. A fantastic stop; even the beef tartare! Also got a kick out of the cool, old-school bottle of Royal Crown (RC) cola from Georgia! 3. We took the subway to the Kro Bistro & Bar at Sokolovská Street in the Karlín district, where we sampled the rotisserie chicken with brown butter and soy sauce, fermented potato pancakes, braised beef with dill sauce and roasted potatoes, and cabbage slaw. The beverages were a light beer from the Vinohradsky Pivovar brewery, a sweet local cider or lemonade. So. So. Good! The beef was so moist and savory, I could have drank the juice it was in! And the fermented potato pancakes looked and tasted like pitas, loved them! 4. Then we took the subway and finished the tour at the Myšák pastry shop at Vodickova 32. We had the buns with warm vanilla custard, "vetrnik": choux pastry with vanilla pastry cream, caramel whipped cream and glaze, and "likerova spicka": biscotti with chocolate mousse, eggnog, and chocolate cover. We also had black coffee. A fascinating mix of items that--while not all amazing--were all interesting. Months later my husband still talks about the vanilla pastry with caramel whipped cream!

Do not recommend! I paid $143 (around 3,000 CZK or approx…read more €135) for what turned out to be the most disappointing and upsetting experience with a food tour company in Prague. Not only did I get food poisoning, but when I contacted them to cancel, they showed absolutely no empathy or understanding. They flat-out refused to issue a refund, citing a confusing and inconsistent cancellation policy. Tripadvisor clearly states that cancellations made 24 hours in advance are eligible for a refund, yet the receipt I received after payment claims you need to cancel 21 days in advance. This bait-and-switch is incredibly dishonest. When I tried to explain my situation, their response was shockingly rude and unprofessional--they even called me "disrespectful" simply for pointing out the scammy nature of their refund policy. For a tour that is by far the most expensive food tour in Prague, their customer service is appalling, and their greed is on full display. I will be disputing the charge with my bank. Avoid this company at all costs--you deserve better. To add insult to injury, when I asked why a refund wasn't possible, they said that "preparations and reservations" are made the night before. Really? Who's going to eat the food I paid for? What exactly are these "reservations," when most restaurants regularly cancel or adjust group bookings? One booking made a day before isn't going to make or break a night. Plus, traditional Czech food is largely preserved or pre-prepared--it's not like they're cooking anything fresh per person. And if the tour booking stays open until it fills, how are you already prepping for me specifically? Their explanation makes no sense. Then they changed their reasoning again and said they couldn't refund me because the tour guide needs to be paid for their time and effort. I get that people need to be compensated, but I never met the guide, never received the service, and canceled as soon as I knew I was sick. If the guide was still paid, that's on the company--not the sick customer. It's just another excuse to keep the money, no matter what. The inconsistency in their responses shows they'll say anything to avoid doing the right thing. Again--go with literally any other food tour in Prague.

There are so many things right with this airport but other airports should try hard to emulate. I…read morewill say that this airport tends to be quiet and less busy compared to other airports I've been in, which was kind of nice. This airport has its own cafeteria. I kind of looks like an Ikea cafeteria. We had made to order omelets, coffee, cake, and even salad from a salad bar at really inexpensive prices. That's quite a bonus for the airport to subsidize this cafeteria. There is a mother and baby room, with an area to change babies, sit and nurse babies, any playroom for baby and toddlers. They also have a doctor available at the airport. Unfortunately, I was hit with a very painful kidney stone shortly after we arrived to our hotel. We took a cab back to the airport to see if I could see a doctor. I rang the bell and an EMT came out and asked what was wrong. They took me right back and treated me so respectfully and so well. The doctor came out promptly and together we both concluded it was a kidney stone. I got two pain injections which worked like magic. I've struggled with kidney stones for 25 years and never had the pain relief I got from these medications. When it was time to go we asked what we owed them and were told nothing. Just feel better and enjoy the rest of my trip. That was so awesome! They also provide large strollers for people with children. They're not baby-sized, but you can put a tired 7-year-old in one of these strollers. I don't have little kids, but I could certainly see that people appreciate it them. There are plenty of places to grab food or shop. The one strange and not so great thing about this airport, though, is that you go through security at your gate--meaning that once you go through security you are behind glass at your gate. The bad thing about this is that you can't buy water in the airport take it with you on the plane because it's taken away at the gate security. There is a vending machine at the gate, but the choices are limited. All in all, I'd say this airport has more to offer than almost any other airport I've been to.

Arrived to the…read moreairport via the bus/tram 59 and it was merely an escalator ride up to the departure terminal. The bus/tram 59 comes every 3-4 minutes! Self-checking my bags was quick and easy. Security was also quick. Since I was traveling within the Schengen, there were no ID checks during the entire process. There were numerous eateries at typical airport prices, from coffee shops, cafes. Food quality was ok. Departure was on-time!
