We loved this 2 hour tour! Highly recommend this the first days that you arrive in Prague to get a lay of the land. Our driver stopped to get us beers and we were able to take some amazing photos at places that we would not have found on our own. Highly recommend!!

We had to try this excursion. On our first day we saw other tourist driving around laughing and having a ball in these cute cars. They are Fords that have a beautiful shell put over the, that resemble a Rolls Royce or a Excalibur. They have 40 or 60 minute tours; taking you around the city and showing you the 14th century buildings that we just couldn't get to in 3 days. I always bargain the original price they quote, it's just how I roll. We paid him 75.00 US for the 40 minute. One thing I found that was really interesting is that merchants have NO issue taking American dollars, they actually encourage it. The Koruna has a bad exchange rate so the dollar is very strong here. I used it for Art purchases, candy and meals. It's good to know. Our driver Sergej was a sweetheart and was very good at English. He had a Yelp logo on his t-shirt pictured below. The only improvements I would mention to the owner (s) is that they get the drivers headset microphones since it was really hard to hear info with traffic noise and the distance between us in the car. Also having cold bottles of water would be a plus. Just my 2 cents. I would highly recommended doing this; it was a blast!

We had a great experience with Prague old car and especially with our guide Marek. We did the tour on our last night in Prague and headed out not long before sunset - which led to some great shots in the "magic hour". Marek gave us a lot of history and information as we traveled around and even stopped in a couple places to let me get out and take pictures while he and my wife chatted about Prague and politics. We did the tour just the 2 of us but a good option is to find another couple and split the cost - I actually tried this by randomly approaching couples while we were getting settled with the car. If you have used the bus tours in other cities the old car is very different. I will post some sunset pictures from the ride and my quick jaunts away from the car. Pití přípitek!

He moved swiftly through the spots but still stopped often and detailed the cultural highlights of this part of the old town. You're not going to see everything in three hours but you will definitely have the opportunity to get your bearings, see the big sites and have a scratch at this wonderful city. Brian was fun and entertaining, the tour was a blast and at the end we still had 25 of the 30 people. That's a pretty good turnout. This was my NINTH Sandeman's tour after Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Madrid, Brussels, Copenhagen, and Porto. Definitely one of the better ones! [Review 12238 overall, 2022 of 2019.]

The definite highlight was the Kutna Hora (Bone) church although we ended up visiting a few churches. Lunch at Dacicky was very good. If you are lucky enough to get Brandon, make sure you get his Prague list of recommendations for restaurants, attractions, etc. There were about 20 in the tour group and a second in Spanish tour group-so total about 40 on a coach bus. Bring your walking shoes as we walked to all the sites after we visited the church. ( & their is about a 15 minutes walk from Old town center to the bus) A great way to see some of the sites outside of Prague. Would highly recommend Brandon & Sandeman's.

Date of tour: June 3, 2024…read more Not sure how it took me so long to do this review, it was probably the highlight of our time in Prague and the gold standard for food tours! First, our guide: Klara was a fabulous and fascinating tour guide (even if she did throw shade at one of my favorite stores, Primark!), her mix of North American knowledge compliments her Czech sensibilities. She did a great job of introducing the groups and laying the groundwork for us. Here was our tour: 1. We started with Pilsner Urquell beer (or alternatively the dark Kozel beer), fried cheese with tartare sauce, marinated carp, a selection of sausages with mustard, potato salad, and Prague ham with creamed horseradish at the Lokal pub over at Dlouha 33. There was also some pickled fish and Czech Gothaj salami with onions. While the food here wasn't my favorite, I did try pretty much everything and nothing was too weird or gross for me! 2. We continued to Kantyna at Politickych veznu 5, where we tried the beef tartare, pulled pork, schnitzel made with pork neck and some pickled vegetables. A fantastic stop; even the beef tartare! Also got a kick out of the cool, old-school bottle of Royal Crown (RC) cola from Georgia! 3. We took the subway to the Kro Bistro & Bar at Sokolovská Street in the Karlín district, where we sampled the rotisserie chicken with brown butter and soy sauce, fermented potato pancakes, braised beef with dill sauce and roasted potatoes, and cabbage slaw. The beverages were a light beer from the Vinohradsky Pivovar brewery, a sweet local cider or lemonade. So. So. Good! The beef was so moist and savory, I could have drank the juice it was in! And the fermented potato pancakes looked and tasted like pitas, loved them! 4. Then we took the subway and finished the tour at the Myšák pastry shop at Vodickova 32. We had the buns with warm vanilla custard, "vetrnik": choux pastry with vanilla pastry cream, caramel whipped cream and glaze, and "likerova spicka": biscotti with chocolate mousse, eggnog, and chocolate cover. We also had black coffee. A fascinating mix of items that--while not all amazing--were all interesting. Months later my husband still talks about the vanilla pastry with caramel whipped cream!

Do not recommend! I paid $143 (around 3,000 CZK or approx…read more €135) for what turned out to be the most disappointing and upsetting experience with a food tour company in Prague. Not only did I get food poisoning, but when I contacted them to cancel, they showed absolutely no empathy or understanding. They flat-out refused to issue a refund, citing a confusing and inconsistent cancellation policy. Tripadvisor clearly states that cancellations made 24 hours in advance are eligible for a refund, yet the receipt I received after payment claims you need to cancel 21 days in advance. This bait-and-switch is incredibly dishonest. When I tried to explain my situation, their response was shockingly rude and unprofessional--they even called me "disrespectful" simply for pointing out the scammy nature of their refund policy. For a tour that is by far the most expensive food tour in Prague, their customer service is appalling, and their greed is on full display. I will be disputing the charge with my bank. Avoid this company at all costs--you deserve better. To add insult to injury, when I asked why a refund wasn't possible, they said that "preparations and reservations" are made the night before. Really? Who's going to eat the food I paid for? What exactly are these "reservations," when most restaurants regularly cancel or adjust group bookings? One booking made a day before isn't going to make or break a night. Plus, traditional Czech food is largely preserved or pre-prepared--it's not like they're cooking anything fresh per person. And if the tour booking stays open until it fills, how are you already prepping for me specifically? Their explanation makes no sense. Then they changed their reasoning again and said they couldn't refund me because the tour guide needs to be paid for their time and effort. I get that people need to be compensated, but I never met the guide, never received the service, and canceled as soon as I knew I was sick. If the guide was still paid, that's on the company--not the sick customer. It's just another excuse to keep the money, no matter what. The inconsistency in their responses shows they'll say anything to avoid doing the right thing. Again--go with literally any other food tour in Prague.

The complex stretches down to Lesser Quarter (Mala Strana), where you'll find several beautiful chateaux and palaces. Inside the castle walls, there's so much to explore: a stunning cathedral, multiple museums, the office of the Czech president, the Bohemian Crown Jewels, and much more. Compared to the Madrid Palance, Pražský hrad feels dusty. The Madrid Palace is opulent and had air purifiers in almost every room. Pražský hrad has rooms that are almost unbearable to stand in due to the allergens and construction. The carpet was dingy and it's mostly the gorgeous gothic outside that's the draw. All in all, I don't think you need to have a guide for Pražský hrad and I could see buying entrance tickets and being perfectly content with your choice.

He provided the history of the area and showed the camp, and fortress (the crematorium was closed on Saturday). While I really had no desire to see a concentration camp, being there and understanding how this once resort town for the rich was turned into a ghetto where Jews were sent by Nazis to work and dies was educational. In person, it was chilling to see how in a city (Prague) where a former KING had invited Jews to live peacefully for a few hundred years in community with neighbors could be ravaged in less than a decade by stealing property and sending community members to die. The highlight of the tour, for me, was walking through the interior of the fortress. Because Terezin had been a fortress around a town and in which at present there is an educational institution, this concentration camp may differ from other in Germany proper. Patrik took us through the museum which held objects, and other displays from the camp. The humanity of those held as slaves by the Nazis shows through in the posters, pictures and attempts to try to "normalize" the hell created. Take time to look at the exhibits there. The most depressing part of this tour were the headstones with the names of those who "came through" the gates and perished. For judges in the USA who are faced with anti-semites who claim there holocaust did not happen and perpetrate hate crimes, should be able to sentence the guilty to tour camps and help, In short, book and take a tour with this company.
