The hubby and I booked the "Explore Prague Historical Tour" with the Naked Tour Guide for the following morning which was a Friday, if that matters to anyone reading this. Booking process was super easy. Payment was made through PayPal although cards are also accepted. Confirmation was immediate. E-ticket was emailed immediately after confirmation.
We met our guide, Allen, just outside the meeting point printed on our e-ticket (no need to worry about physically printing your e-ticket as the guide will ask for your name upon greeting and that's how he knows you are you and not someone else who is amazingly pretending to be you). Two other people joined our tour (max tour size is eight!). We then spent the next four hours touring around with Allen and our tour mates.
Note: There is a short tour intermission about 2/3 of the way through the tour at a delicatessen (pastries, open-faced sandwiches, beer, soda, coffee, water, restrooms, heat, a/c, basically whatever you want or need). I wouldn't say this was the best food I've eaten in Prague but it was nice to sit down and warm up for a few minutes.
Allen. Boy, where to start? He's incredibly knowledgable and personable and, well, a really really good guide. Oh, and he's American which is a bit strange considering you signed up for a historical tour of Prague but don't let that deter you. Allen knows his stuff. Like really, really knows his stuff. The tour was supposed to last 2-3 hours but we departed Allen about four hours later (after one beer in a beer garden followed by a long-ish walk to the metro stop) as he was nice enough to guide us to a restaurant which he recommended.
The tour is a bit pricy, especially for Prague but factor in the small group size (easier to ask questions, hear the guide, follow along, stay engaged, etc.) and the length of the tour and it's well worth 800 CZK/adult. I've been to Prague twice before and I learned more about Prague in those four hours than I have over the course of two prior trips (though, I must admit, I did learn about Prague beer during those trips!).
Excellent tour. Book now! read more
