    ***UPDATE*** Last…read moreweek I was able to talk with a rep from Help Center Support/Customer Relations. She was very professional in allowing me to fully vent my complaints and frustration about their outsourced, offshore customer service department, and about their billing system. She was also very friendly, so much so that I apologized for the anger and frustration I showed in dealing with customer service. I think she was genuine in stating she didn't blame me. that it was understandable why I got to that point (yes, I'm paraphrasing here). I don't think anything was really resolved regarding corporate practices moving forward, except that she removed the $1 late fee. But the positive result is that I now have an actual corporate customer service person I can contact if any similar issues arise in the future. This is comforting because as I've said about a company outsourcing customer service functions, it both isolates and insulates them from customer complaints. So, this issue's been settled, at least, and we're staying with ADT.

    Their service call fee minimum is that of a mechanic, even for doing something as simple as…read morechanging a battery. If you change the battery yourself, they say the equipment was tampered with and that's a separate fee. If you want to cancel your service, do it 30 days before your contract ends, otherwise they charge you for the next 30 days. I called when they told me to- June 19th, which was when my contract was set to terminate. They should have told me to call May 19th. Anyway, they're scheißers. Oh, and Tammlar Holloway is the RUDEST and most ignorant sounding representative. I would not want her representing my company with her lack of professionalism. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she lied and stated she is the supervisor. After she hung up on me, I called back. She never answered, but what do you know... I got a supervisor and they had NO IDEA who she is. She also gave me some address that I could "write to if I wanted to speak to a manager". Stay away from them! Use a local company or a company that is NOT ADT.

    Facts: 1) Bought a system three years ago…read more 2) Harddrive failed three times in three years (Harddrives typically have a 3 year life) 3) Called for service. Was eventually called back to say "you don't have a harddrive problem". Service Tech named Jesus told me that he would come and take a look. 4) Jesus came to the house, started the unit, reformatted the harddrive without asking if it was OK to do this. (which obviously contained historical data, then loaded updated firmware. 5) I then complained that if the drive was able to work, I would have taken a backup, but was preached at the fact that Jesus had been in the business for ten years and that he knows what he is doing. He also interrupted me six times in a conversation I have recorded to tell me that I don't have a harddrive problem. 6) The following day the harddrive failed again - same error and I called to complain. 7) The next thing I got was an estimate to replace the harddrive and TWO repair calls for what should have been a warranted harddrive since it was the 3rd one in less than 3 years. 8) I said that I wasn't paying for the first trip where my data was erased and the unit wasn't fixed. 9) Then the Owner John wrote back and said that since I wasn't willing to pay for something I hadn't agreed to pay for up-front that I was no longer getting serviced by them. 10) I have subsequently replaced the harddrive and it works flawlessly. Another service company did this for half the price and gave me a 3 year warranty on the drive - which is customary. They suck. They used inferior products on my unit. They left me hanging as a customer. I wouldn't recommend anyone use them. Their motto is: Your home is your sanctuary, we are the security you can trust. I wouldn't trust them with anything.
