He picked me up at the Philadelphia airport on April 22, and returned me to the airport on April 28. During the airport pickup on April 22, Steve's shuttle bus was full by the time I arrived. However, because Steve could see that I was in pain (I was having severe back pain), he made an exception and allowed me to sit in the passenger seat. We quickly became good friends on the ride to Payless. Upon following the signs for "Rental Car Return" on April 28, I circled the airport rental car center two or three times looking for the Payless car drop-off location. My flight was at 4 p.m., and time was running out. Upon entering the Avis car drop-off location, an employee told me that Payless is not in the rental car center, but rather at an off-site location: 6975 Norwitch Drive. I sped off to that location and was met there by none other than my new friend Steve, standing right next to his shuttle bus. Upon telling him that I was running out of time to make my flight, he quickly checked my car in, ushered me onto the shuttle bus, and got me to the airport on time. I will always be indebted to Steve. Whatever Payless is paying him, it is not enough. Thank you, Steve. Have a great life!

Evidentially it was because when I rented the car at the end of the day the lights were not on. When it got dark on my drive to Delaware I turned on the lights and did not turn them off. (that was my fault) However, the next day I had to have the car jumped two times. The second time it was when the car was idling at a busy traffic light. Thankfully someone stopped and jumped the car. I took it to a Ocean Tire and Battery near Lewes, De, and they charged it overnight and told me it was at 94% and should be good the rest of the week. I called Payless A FEW times and they told me to get a new battery and they would pay for it. It worked the next 4 days, but when I stopped at lights it would hesitate. My last day in Delaware it would not start at all. I called AAA - it took three hours for AAA to arrive. AAA tested the battery and said the idle test showed it was too dangerous to drive AT 84% He was ready to replace it - but when I called Payless, they told me they would not pay for it unless I put the dead battery in the trunk, and would only reimburse me the $300 if their own test showed it was insufficient. AAA suggested I leave the battery in place and purchase a portable NOCO battery charger for $100. That way, it the battery died on my drive back to Phila airport at 6 am, I could charge it. He also showed me how to turn of the STOP/START button. I sent Payless manager MICHAEL the insufficient test the next day and he claims AAA was just trying to make a sale and the battery was fine. He was also rude to me. I WILL NEVER RENT A CAR WITH PAYLESS AGAIN. It was the STOP/START button that was draining the battery. All l asked was to get reimbursed for the NOCO charger.

The most seamless rental I've ever had!…read more I don't usually write reviews for rental agencies but this spot really wowed me. I had to book a last minute car for a two day trip. They only had vans listed online which I was skeptical about but I needed to book it. With the online booking you can pick it right up. Waiting outside the terminal, watch for a city sized bus for National, Alamo, and Enterprise. It took a little longer than the other pick up vans but the wait was not long. At the Enterprise stop, you can just walk up to the car and get in if you're already booked. When you drive out, they cross-check the car against your booking. This part took about 10 minutes including waiting behind a car. Coming back to drop off the vehicle, do not get in the rental return car lane. That is for all other rental agencies. Keep going around the circle in the right lane until you see signs for Enterprise. Then take the left into the lot, and follow the drop off instructions by the guys in the lot. All it took was driving up into a lane and leaving the keys in the vehicle. They scanned the car's barcode and check the gas level. That's it. Then walk over to the shuttle bus to get back to the airport. It was faster dropping off than picking up, which was already fast! I had the receipt in my email shortly thereafter. Oh and the Chrysler Pacifica I rented was not like my mom's van I used to drive in high school. Hybrid. Cooled seats. Sound system. Not bad. I would definitely rent from them again in the future.

Get rid of the busses and put the garage right outside the terminal. If you can't do this, then use a light rail system. But busses SUCK! They are inconvenient and in this situation, there were 50 people waiting just for the National Car Rental bus to appear. In the time we were all waiting, the Hertz, Avis, Budget, Sixt busses appeared more than once and only a few people got on them, but the amount of people waiting for kept building up, which told me I needed to run to the front and jump on as soon as I saw the national bus and it was a complete mess when it arrived. I was upgraded to a Toyota Avalon (PCAR) at no charge (originally reserved an intermediate [ICAR]). Amtrak's doing some work on the garage where the rentals used to be stored so it's a bit of a hike to get to the lot. Cross over to the Cira Center building and take the elevator downstairs. It's an open lot so it will suck if it's raining or snowing. Be sure you get a ticket from the counter so you can get out of the lot...lol. I couldn't find the car and kept hitting the lock button...lol. One of the greeters helped me find it after showing him my contract...he knew exactly which space it was in since he had parked it...lol. The return process was easy too. The greeters can check you in on their handheld computers, so most of the time they will just check the mileage and gas, confirm the credit card you want to use, and then print a receipt so you can be on your way.

My flight wasn't leaving until the next morning, so when the driver asked which airline I was flying, I told him I was staying at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott and that he could drop me wherever was most convenient. Instead, he went above and beyond and dropped me directly in front of the hotel. The customer service was thoughtful, friendly, and exceptional from beginning to end. The photos were not time stamped. When we returned the vehicle there was no staff inspection and they told us to park the vehicle in a public lot. When we attempted to appeal their claims about the damage we have hit many, many roadblocks. We sent a letter and they responded noting that we had not included the rental agreement number. That number (along with the invoice number, damage claim number, and date of rental service) were clearly itemized at the very top of the letter. When we called customer service the service agent said she could not help us. She said we needed to speak to the claims department. The claims department is only open from 10am to 2pm Eastern!! This company is cheap because it is a SCAM!!! Avoid renting from them at all costs. Don't do it!
