This is our to go to place in the area when we want some great Chicken wings or Japanese food. The place is super clean and the owners are always cleaning the floors and wiping things down. They always greet you when you come in and make you feel welcomed. If you stop here try the Chicken wings with their Habanero Sauce more mild its very good!!! My husband likes the steak and mushrooms , they always cook it the way he wants it. And he also loves the scallops with mushrooms, they are really huge and very good. I have also had both meals as well and they are awesome! The only thing you have to be careful is asking for anything extra, they do charge approx $1 for a side of hot sauce, we like extra sauce on our wings and that's the only complaint we have. Its not a fancy restaurant, you can take your family and its not that expensive. Another must try is the Cheese Wontons!!! They are so good and the sauce they come with is great!! Tasty, good value, and a lot of sauce comes with the hibachi meals. I would go again.

I ordered two hibachi steak entrees with no carrots or mushrooms. I received two small containers of steak only. I also ordered an extra 16oz of shrimp sauce and did not get it. On top of everything, the lady was rude. read more

A very drab uninviting room on our side of the two sides of restaurant. Basic booths and tables. Very little decor on the walls. I seem to be hearing a lot of Spanish from the staff. Hmmmmm. We ordered the tuna roll and cooked clam roll, a hibachi steak with mushrooms and a teriyaki steak with broccoli and a garlic wing appetizer. It all came out at once.. The rolls are very fresh and a good size. Matter of fact, all the food is very good. Especially the wings. Nicely fried with a touch of crust and very well seasoned. Located on a hill off of Oak street, Forest City, Kyoto Express, a Japanese eatery, has plenty of seating sporting both tables and booths. It's a casual restaurant that has a variety of appetizers, noodles dishes, rice dishes, and sushi. While their restaurant was clean and kept tidy, their service was average at best; our main server forgot to give us items such as eating utensils (although I do believe it was an honest mistake). My family and I went and tried a variety of appetizers, noodles, and rice dishes. I would definitely come back again as the food was good for its price (especially during lunch). Suggestions: Pros: - The chicken wings (Teriyaki) (9/10), steak rice dish (8/10), and udon noodles were fabulous (9/10). - ALSO - use that shrimp sauce (or white sauce as some people call it). It was so gooood. The ginger sauce is pretty good too. They also have sriracha available. Cons; - The chicken entree dishes were slightly dry. - Not sure if this is a con, but the Yakisoba noodles are no different than instant ramen packs you can find at your local grocer - but if you're into that then go for it. - May have to occasionally call for the server if you need something. Stopped by Kyoto Express to order takeout. Needless to say, I was disappointed. The chicken was dry and overcooked. The rice was bland, having 'zero' flavor. The shrimp sauce tasted just like thousand island salad dressing. The steak was the only part of the meal I could actually eat. This is my 5th visit, and will be my last. Hibachi Steak- No flavor, ordered it medium rare, it was over cooked. Teriyaki Chicken- No flavor, rubbery chicken, but broccoli was crisp. Spring Rolls-Undercooked and mushy inside California Roll- Was correct, but lacked flavor Spicy salmon roll & Crunchy crab roll- these two got mixed up somehow. Customer service is horrible I explained what I was wanting over the phone she was hard to understand but we thought she had the order right when I got there and showed her the picture she said we don't have that. Ended up going to another place to get a soup to use with this order won't be back here again lady pays no attention when your asking a question broken English, maybe have someone that is fluent in English taking orders I see I'm not the only one to have problems here like this after reading reviews. read more

I took my mother here today to see if their food was any good. I got the cucumber roll and my mom got shrimp Teriyaki. Apparently, she didn't know Teriyaki is sweet. She didn't like the sweetness and she said the shrimp was tough. My cucumber roll was quite good. Love the wasabi, it burned my nasal passage (yeah, I like the pain). Prices were extremely reasonable. I would go again, but since my mother didn't like it, I doubt we will return again on our Sunday lunches. The staff was quite nice and efficient. Ordered food for take out. Spent over $30 and we asked for a side of sauce you get for FREE when you eat inside . They wanted to charge over $4.00!!! Are you serious??? You lose a customer over something you give for FREE while u eat inside? I can understand charging maybe /50 cents to cover a container but what a RIP AND BEING GREEDY! I'm sorry to say my family was very disappointed in this place. Food was flavorless. Rice was not "fried rice" I asked for steak medium rare it was very well done and tough. Sushi was grocery store quality. Had high hopes but won't be returning. read more
