Wonderful place to get your sushi fix in our smallish town. Lots of good choices and the miso soup is good also. They have other options for those that aren't fans of sushi although admittedly I haven't tried any of them. Prices are pretty fair also. Best place in Duncan! Only place for sushi. Only your staples really. They do have some specialty rolls too but they are all pretty much fried and or covered in tons of extras and sauces and crap to cater to local tastes I'm assuming. Salmon, snapper, tuna they have. Squid scallops yes. Mackerel no, which was a bummer. Really I'm just thrilled I can at least get some sushi here. I tried three different specialties rolls and I wasn't impressed with either. Tried the green dragon, the bomb bombs, and one other whose name eludes me at present but neither left a lasting impression on me. I'd like to see more fresh rolls like ones rolled with cucumber besides crab sticks (those were the only two they had). Place is cheap considering most sushi places I frequent. Still. We're lucky this restaurant is in our town. I would go to it even if I were in Oklahoma City. If you order the lunch or dinner rolls you get a salad and a soup before the meal so you don't need to order any appetizers. A few days ago I ordered the snow crab, california and salmon rolls and all were just delicious! I'm not very adventurous in my sushi choices but I still love this restaurant. The service is excellent. The prices are reasonable and the food comes out quickly. Definitely would recommend! There is really nothing I would change about this restaurant. Except maybe a nicer interior. read more

This place went down hill for me. The rice in the rolls were very soggie..The service annoyed me, the waitress was on her cellphone the entire time. I had to grab the other waiter to ask for drinks and to go boxes. I don't make many complaints but just drove me crazy that you don't check up on your tables. One couple left because they waited 15 minutes and no service. Honestly was only 3 tables filled. I think Duncan NEEDS variety in restaurants, I hope they turn things back the other way. read more

For a Japanese place amongst many southern fast food chains, this does alright. Came here expecting mediocrity and was pleasantly surprised (This is Duncan after all). You get roughly 12 per order depending on the roll. I got the Breezy Roll and loved it. Beware of the Heart Attack 911. They don't core the jalapeño. Still tasty though. I can also recommend the Gulfport roll and my husband loved the Spice Girl. read more

Just moved to Duncan little over a week ago. Passed by here and decided to check it out after hearing a few good reviews around town and from coworkers. Love this place. My husband always order the shaggy roll and I get the pink lady roll. The fodd is great especially considering it's in Duncan Oklahoma which is kind of a good food desert. Crab Rangoon is great and so are their egg rolls. I haven't gotten any ring I didn't like. Oh and the green tea ice cream is amazing! read more

I never post reviews and when I do you either did extremely we'll or horrific. This of course IS the later. We arrived and we're shown to our table. Ordered, while we waited they set up a table for the staff to dine. Not an immediate red flag but when our order came out, it was abysmal. Presentation isn't everything so we bote in. Both orders are slimey, soggy, and inedible. When we called a waiter not two bites in we were yelled at and threatened with the police if we didn't pay for the food that in the end made us physically ill. On top of this the entire staff yelled and spat at us. This establishment, and I use the term loosely, is not worth your time or money. read more

I'm not up on sushi culture (if there is one) or what to expect when eating sushi as I've only ever had sushi from Kyoto. That being said, as far as good food goes all of the sushi I've had at Kyoto is excellent. Very fresh tasting and some very creative, artistic dishes. The size of the menu and variety of different sushi dishes is impressive. Whether raw or cooked (yes, there is cooked sushi for those wary of raw foods) just take your pick according to what sounds good and what's in your price range. You pretty much can't go wrong on the sushi. Kyoto also sells your typical Chinese restaurant food which is average. Although I must add the fried rice is outstanding. I definitely recommend dining in and ordering the fried rice along with whatever else you order. The staff at Kyoto is very nice although the service isn't anything special. Kyoto is located in a somewhat obscure location making the food (namely the sushi) that much more surprisingly good. The inside of the location is always clean and has an overall nice, comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend Kyoto as it offers some excellent food and a break in the monotony of most of the local cuisine. read more

The sushi was prepared great and the tempura chicken was amazing. My only complaint is the environment.. There was a child running around yelling and sitting at a booth watching a tablet and the workers were speaking in a foreign language loudly between each other which was distracting to enjoying my food. The restaurant was very clean, however it was very warm inside that day. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a good place to go enjoy some great sushi, but the environment could be improved and it would make this place 5 stars. read more

I ate here today for the first time and it was awesome!! Not the best sushi I've ever had, but it was still great. My only complaint was the salmon was so fatty that it was really oily..enough to leave my mouth and lips oily feeling. The waitress was AMAZING!! First of all I'm new to Duncan and i am trying all the local restaraunts here to find my favorites. Not a big selection of asian restaraunts to choose from but this supposedly had 4 stars so i was rather optimistic. Boy were those ratings misleading. First off I tried to order an Asian brand of beer to complete my experience. They didn't have any. They had Mexican German and domestic, smh. We than ordered our food. My salad or should i say bowl of lettuce literally with ranch not the good Asian style dressing was as you can imagine disappointing. The miso soup was not good. The egg roll my girlfriend got tasted like a frozen one from a package. Than we got our food. I had ordered szechuan beef and my girlfriend the Mongolian beef. Now I can't be sure, but I've been eating beef for 50 plus years and what they served tasted nothing like beef. The texture of the meat was like nothing I've ever eaten. We couldn't even eat the food seriously. We left hungry unsatisfied and angry. Maybe the sushi is good but I'm not a sushi fan. I will make the drive to Lawton or okc in the future if I want Asian food. read more

Don't be fooled by this restaurant's humble appearance and surroundings. We were in town recently for a local horse show and chose it based on the reviews here. My family likes checking out great, locally owned places when we travel. Wow - we had the edamame, gyoza and 6-8 different rolls of a great variety and loved them all!! Easily rivals the quality at Sushi Neko in Oklahoma City. Extremely nice staff, so-so service. Great find. We will be back. read more

Due to the lack of decent establishments in Duncan, we frequent Kyoto too often. The sushi is only so-so but is still better than the rolls served at the various Chinese troughs. I do not recommend the individual pieces or expensive rolls as the fish is not nearly fresh enough and the price is too high. I once ordered a piece of Giant Surf Clam sushi and it came out both frozen at the center and burnt by the microwave they tried to thaw it out with. The soups are pretty foul, especially the Miso. It is reminiscent of a wet dish towel. The hot-and -sour soup is missing the sour and many of the standard ingredients one finds in this soup at better restaurants. The ginger dressing on the salad is off-putting. It's alternative, ranch, is straight from a bottle. I'm pretty sure (but not positive) that nobody working at this establishment is Japanese. read more

This place has decent food but their service is crap. I have had several bad experiences at this place and none of it really involved the food. Average Chinese food but crap service. First experience I had here was good (food and service) but since then it has not been positive. I called in an order and the person taking the order (no language barrier) listened to what I said and then gave me a total and wait time and hung up the phone. She never read it back to me. When I went to pick it up it was the wrong order which usually I just pay for anyways bc we all make mistakes. Then the same lady started to tell the manager that I did not order the stuff I had said. There was no apology. Just blame the customer which bothers me. The next time I ordered I got the same lady and when I asked her to read back the order she was obviously put out. I go get my food and there is no rice in the order. They staple the sack and don't check it on front of you. So I call when I get home and the same lady accuses me of lying about having rice in the bag. I pointed out that I ordered $50 worth of food and if I was going to lie about something not being in the bag it wouldn't be 4 small cartons of steamed rice. Again no customer service. Not even a hey I am sorry come back in and we will get you fixed up. They have never heard the old American proverb that the customer is always right. read more
