Everything was cordial and I even used his acquaintances in San Antonio to sell my home. Everything worked well until I was put into a "folder," in Brendan's own words. I inquired about homes and the possibility of placing a contingent offer, yet I had to frequently reach out to the seller's agents myself, as Brendan often mentioned that I was in this "folder" and he could not help me. It is pure speculation; however, I believe that he was holding back the sale of my home, as we heard from another agent that there was an offer on our home, but his acquaintances didn't relay this to us. Also, a contingent offer we put on a house in Austin, TX, received two other offers after sitting dormant on the market for months after we bid on it. Whether or not this was the Sanford team's doing, we felt uneasy about doing business with Brendan's team. We eventually fired Brendan for his lack of help and obvious racial bias. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you are not in the top 1% as it seems that is all Brendan caters to.

Alright, alright, alright. Where do we start? My wife and I met Chris Matthews back in…read moreOctober/November of 2024. We connected through a Homes.com search--ran filters for realtors with the highest volume of buy & sell transactions over the last five years--and he was at the top of our list. We had a few referrals from our network, but Chris was incredibly responsive, and our first call was solid. Long story long, we moved to Austin around that time, and Chris was there from the very start. He's direct in the kindest sense of the word, and he 1000% loves what he does. He figured out what we liked and didn't like, but that honestly didn't matter much because we had no idea where we wanted to live. Throughout the holidays, we went into escrow--then had to pull our offer days before closing due to the inspection. Chris's response? "If you guys want to change directions, we can start looking for new properties tomorrow." This was after he spent two hours inspecting the place himself, pushing the builder to add new gutters, fix the lawn's grading, and leading the blue tape charge on 3,500 square feet. Later, he talked us through properties that looked great in person but wouldn't appraise on paper, and ultimately, he helped us land the perfect place. Frankly, the guy knows every aspect of a real estate transaction inside and out. I don't know if he's so well off that time doesn't matter, but he had to lose money on us. He over-invests, and odds are, you'll make a good friend in the process--like we did.
