I already left a negative review. It still irks me, because I tend to be a generous tipper and I regret that I tipped them so well after they destroyed my hair. I read other reviews which said, that they take advantage of and try to mislead new customers. What a poor business decision that is! I went to this salon after using Hair Club IB for keratin treatment. After they applied the treatment to my hair, sending me home with it still in my hair (which no other salon has done) they assured me this was for best results. After washing my hair 2 days later per their recommendation my hair still had waves (which I never had from the other salon). This treat is suppose to last anywhere from 4-6 months depending on your hair type and how often you wash it. After 1 month my hair looks as it did before I went and spent $230.00 at their salon. I strongly do not recommend them for a keratin treatment. I now have to spend another $250.00 to go back the the original salon and get my hair corrected. read more

I have been coming here for years for Japanese perm. They do a good job. Although sometimes I feel like I just sit there and wait for them to finish with other customers, the hair comes out nice and because they are cheaper than other salons, I continued to go there. I tried getting a digital perm there and I showed the owner a picture of the hair I wanted, which had 3-4 big waves, and he said he can do that. He hooked me up to the machine with about 20 rollers in my head. I have never had a digital perm and I didn't know what should be done, so I just let him do his job. After 5 hours in the salon, he let me go with hair that was still wet. It looked okay and I was in a rush, so I left. He told me not to brush it for 3 days. After it dried, it started looking really curly and dry. After the 3 days and a wash, I brushed it, and it looked absolutely atrocious. It had lots of waving/curling, looked absolutely dry, and was very poofy. It looked nothing like what was in the picture I showed. The hair was damaged. After a few emails back and forth with the owner that included multiple pictures, I didn't get a feeling that he knew what to do and refused to acknowledge that there was an issue. Even not seeing any pictures prior to doing the work, seeing how my hair had turned out, anyone would accept that there IS an issue. I went to a different salon and had my hair fixed. I would absolutely advise against going to that salon for anything other than a plain Japanese perm and only if you don't mind waiting while they are serving other people. Breakdown of my 2 star rating: For plain Japanese straightening, I'd give this salon 4 stars. For the waving and the workers clearly not understanding what I wanted but proceding anyway, and then pretending they don't see a problem, I'd give this salon 0 stars. read more

I was walking around flushing with my roomie just to get some estimates on the hairstyles we were interested in getting. We walked past several hair salons that did not look promising and got estimates at some places that made us think and feel as if they were ripping us off. We did not look Ky Lee salon up on yelp or google.. we just walked in because it looked clean and up to date in decor inside. The staff were extremely friendly and was so ready to take on my hair! I asked them for an estimate but they ended up giving me advice and told me what would be best for my hair! Mind you, I had noo plan whatsoever of getting my hair done that day.. however the price was right and the service was just down to earth. I left extremely satisfied and with a new hairstyle! I LOVEEE MY NEW HAIR. I was scared at first, but the stylists know what they're doing/suggesting! My roomie is going back next week to get her hair done and I am excited to see the end product! I've been coming here for a while and gotten my hair dyed, had a Keratin treatment, and got my hair cut. Usually for the important parts the owner steps in and he's a really sweet guy and he's good at what he does. But when some people dry my hair I feel like I'm a dog because they aren't the most gentle. It's not a huge complaint because if doesn't hurt it's just uncomfortable. I always get exactly what I ask for and they usually double check. The prices do get a bit tricky I still don't really know what's what but I've never thought they were that unreasonable. I just got my hair done and it very shiny and straight. I always go to IB Club that is right down the street. I was charged more but I think it might be worth it. The owner did give me $50.00 back off a higher price then I am use to pay at IB Club. He was very nice. They all are nice but you guys need to put the air on. You all were sweating as I was. This is the place I always go to for my haircuts and other assorted things! I always get my hair cut by the owner and he knows exactly how I like my hair, so it's nice. He and I always have nice conversations about stuff (in Korean, since he's Korean) while he's cutting my hair, too, so there's none of that awkwardness that you sometimes encounter at salons. The atmosphere is pretty calm and pleasant, which is nice for relaxing while you get your hair snipped at. It's also at a pretty convenient location, as the Q13 or Q28 will practically drop you right off near here. I also got my digital perm done here around early June for prom season, and I was only expecting it to hold up for 3 or 4 months since that's what my friends (who'd also gotten digital perms done before) had told me to expect. So it's quite a pleasant surprise that it's still held up, after almost a year! And it's not like I use any special products or anything for my hair - I just use simple shampoo and conditioner, and let my hair air-dry. I've been going here for a hair cut for 10 years. The owner is an EXPERT! He's great at what he does. I trust him with my hair and give him free reign and I'm always happy with what he does. He always lets me know what'll look good and what he's worried about and leaves it to me to give the final say. This place is known for color treatments and from what I've heard, people love the results. He knows not to thin my hair out too much, always gets the layers right and always styles my hair so I leave the salon looking and feeling fabulous. The atmosphere is calming and professional. After they washed my hair they applied the karatin and left it in my hair and said this was the best way to do it. Charging me 230 bucks and sent me on my way with greasy hair and said not to wash for 2 days...which waited the 2 aweful days with this crap in my hair.. and you can't even tell I had it done... i have to blow dry and flat iron my hair... and this should not be the case with these treatments... i should b able to wash and go... and i absolutely can not. now I have to spend another 250 bucks to have it done again...SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE read more

It was a 2 hour trip from where I live (near Trenton NJ) and it was WORTH it. It's a small salon, and I purposely made my appointment early in the a.m. on a Monday, and got most of the staff's attention. He did cut my hair which ended up one side shorter then the other... ugh I had to return after 2 weeks because the keratin treatment did not take and he tried to say it wasn't a Japanese treatment! Just got my JHS + Brazillian Keratin treatment. I've been here before about 11 months ago to have the same done. This time I decided to get a haircut as well. They did an excellent job. Only reason I did not give them 5 stars is that when they applied the keratin treatment (I asked it not have any of the formeldahyde chemical) they did it in the sink. and it burned like crazy. They later told me it was my scalps fault, which I did not appreciate. I take great care of my hair, and to assume I don't clense myself well is a little insulting. Then they had me buy two products. one I think is good, but the other was probably a mistake.. a $20 mistake. None the less they do an excellent job. The service may not equal to a high end salon, but lets face it, where else are you going to get these rock bottom prices for such a good job? I highly recommend this salon for the straightening process, my hair cut was pretty good as well. Thumbs up on the work... neutral on service and product recommendation. Another thing I want to mention is the people there are very nice, they may not have the proper training to delivery professional service like you expect at say bumble and bumble, but they are very sweet people in terms of conversation, I don't think anyone was rude, as pe a prior reviewer. Went in for a haircut since there were so many good reviews. It ended up I got my hair cut uneven and the guy lee kong yong or something of that nature does not know how to do layers. Definitely a hidden gem of a place! My go-to place for perms (So far I've gotten "magic"/japanese straight, digital, setting) which they are very very good at. But where they really shine is with hair cuts! Go to anyone for simple cut, but....let's say you need someone really wise, specialized, gifted..because you may have gone somewhere that butchered your hair.....HE WILL FIX IT! Most recently, I've gone there specifically to get my hair cut from him as I was growing out a pixie cut. (Anyone who has had to grow one out will know what I mean when I say you need someone with a good eye and top notch skill to mold your hair to make it look longer or a different shape, etc.) I've had a friend drive from PA just to get her hair done here (she had crazy thick long hair, always got the magic straight) Usually I will wait for the owner to cut my hair, but the other guy (glasses?) is good too.
