I walked in on a weekday and was given a spot immediately. Their store is very spacious with lockers for your personal items and they have a reclining chair for the hair washing station so it's not an ab workout to get on/off! Service and attentiveness is amazing here. Here comes the haircut part. I have really thick hair so even when I go for a trim, the hair cut can take almost an hour. My hairdresser was AJ - I told him what I wanted (2-3 inches trim) and he said he was only going to cut layers in the front and leave the back as is given how thick my hair is, it'll be too frizzy if he layers Sure. He was done with my haircut in 20 minutes, and as I got up to check I noticed multiple hair sticking out in odd places. He sat me down and went off snipping those off. I take off the apron and towel and recheck - there's still uneven areas, so he fixed it while I was standing. While he was "layering" the front of my hair, I told him I like my hair part on my left side. He said "you will have more volume if you switch parts to your right side" and proceeds to cut my hair with my hair parted on the right. I've never had my hair "layered" like this but the ENTIRE front section of my hair looks like it was just chopped off in a straight line (see picture) without a gradual shift in lengths. This review's saving grace is he did say if I had a problem with my haircut I can always come back and get it fixed. But unfortunately I don't have the time to go back and also not sure how they can fix this when it's already that short. So 5 stars for service and the rocket ship of a hair wash station, but hair cut was very much below my expectations for a $70 price tag.

Leo and Jenny were so humane about my absurd hair situation and I left feeling more attractive than I have in years! I asked for shoulder length hair and mentioned I was going through postpartum hair loss and thought to mention that as that should effect the haircut? He didn't respond and started on the haircut. The only thing he said to me as i sat in the chair was "wow you have a lot of hair". Two minutes in after he started sectioning my hair and started cutting straight across on the bottom layer, he left for a good amount of time to collect payment from another customer. When he came back I mentioned that I would also like some layers, so it wasn't just a straight across cut. His response was that the length I requested would cause my hair to flip up on the back and how about some longer layers? I said sure. At this time, I keep my hair tied up anyways to prevent hair falling everywhere. The staff used a small skinny comb to get through my hair which I found insufficient. It was tugging on my tangled hair. After I mentioned I wanted some layers, he started giving me a haircut with his thinning shears. This continued for at least 95% of the haircut. I was really shocked. Not only that, he was using it in a very strange way. I have thick hair so I'm no stranger to hair dressers often using them to thin out my hair. He was cutting the bottom three inches and SLIDING down the rest of my hair. It was tugging and pulling my hair as the shears were stuffed with cut hairs. Not only did this result in broken ends but this stripped the ends of my hair. It's been two weeks at least and I'm still getting broken ends falling off. My hair is so unhealthy now. It seemed like he was annoyed because I felt the back of my hair and it was really thinned out! The sides of my hair were choppy and thick. It felt like a lawn mower ran across the back of my head. The hair dresser also sprayed a lot of water on my head, and didn't bother to blow dry my hair dry at least. I came in with dry hair. It was a rainy Saturday and I left like that. No styling product in my hair and didn't show me the back of my hair with a mirror. He asked me "how's the length?" I responded with "good." And that was the end of the haircut. If you bring the hair dye you want, she will dye it for you, so highly recommend Amparo. Nails - Ivonne does a nice job on the gel manicure as well, just call in to confirm which days she is there since she is not there everyday. Gel manicure is $25 as of a few months ago.
