It all started when the three year old child of my friends asked me about the "Chuck Store" Moi: "What is a 'Truck Store'?" Kid: "CHUCK, it is the bestest store ever in the whole world with candy!" Moi: "Do they have a toothbrush? He forgot to pack a toothbrush..." Kid: "Duh. They have EVERYTHING, and candy too." Indeed. Naturally, I had to see this marvel. And the kid tells no lies- this is part gas station, part old-timey general store, part hardware store, gardening center, liquor store, candy emporium and drugstore- that is a whole lotta hats, but the lady working the counter was clearly a pro able to direct me to candy and toothbrushes with ease. For the kid, a combo of monster truck toy car and lolly pop that took two days of effort to eat ($1.29, pictured with all it's awesome glory). That car is miraculously still intact. Have you played with a three year old? I'm surprised I am intact, kid is relentless and makes my hyperactive energy look tame. Awesome. For me to keep up, a Starbucks double shot chugged at light-speed and the priceless shot of Lady Monkeybutt- which I cannot believe is a real product and had me laughing hysterically as much as the three year old. I walk up to the counter with my merchandise, pay, get change and leave. What I like best is the map and store rules. I am actually a fan of maps. I think our spatial capabilities suffer just a little bit every time we use google maps to tell us how to navigate while never actually looking at the map and where we are going. In any case, the fine cartography makes navigating 1,000 sq feet much easier. Plus if I were at all uncertain about opinionated whining or paying in large sums of change, I could easily look at the back of the map and realize that these things are not acceptable by the Clerk.

Spotless during the busy day as well as seemingly every visit, it speaks well of the each of the people I encounter. Late nights, after 10-12 pm, I see Ed, a retired man who is always nice to visit with when it's more laid back and I'm not just racing thru for a coffee. It's during one of the recent late night visits that I was particularly hungry that I paused along the large open cooler right in the path from the entrance to everything within. Stopping and seeing some potential options that actually were incredibly delicious meals. Never in my imagination had I considered buying meatloaf at a gas station. Decades ago getting a midnight microwave burrito was a thing I regrettably admit. Everyone is guilty of this or worse. Following the world lockdown it's been a real bummer not having a Denny's or similar 24hr diner to grab a after hours burger etc. So in short I bought the mashed potatoes and meatloaf meal and it was incredibly good! This last week I've began seeing commercials about this new product. This is what redirected my input. Sure the sponsored adverts will say anything. Doesn't mean anything. Had I seen the commercial first, I seriously don't believe I'd have taken the cue and purchased one. But seeing it, looking at the contents, reading the ingredients gave indication that it wasn't typical frozen TV dinner fare. Twice, I've enjoyed the meatloaf. I won't say it's better than mine, because mine kicks butt, and I'm rarely going to admit a fail in my kitchen. I don't serve the failed attempts at home, though my wife is sadly a test subject occasionally suffering something I know sucked. She's a good sport. I know when it's good as well as terrible regardless of her transparent lies. lol. The Beef Stroganoff too is very nice. I won't delve into another long worded thing. It's very good and as I write, I'm thinking I'll be trying a few of the other offerings in the weeks to come. $8 approx per. Not unrealistic. Less costly than Denny's, and many locations I imagine are also open at late hours. 4 stars ONLY because 5 wouldn't appear legit. No bribes, incentives or threats to promote this place. I doubt BP or any of the related C-stores around will follow this trend, and in truth, none I've ever visited have ever held standards to KT's level. It's a touch free wash and I expected it to be like any car wash but it was not. As I'm sitting there watching the dog get nervous I wondered at the sign that said something about "tri-colored foam." Huh?? And then it began...PINK, BLUE, YELLOW! Swirls and swirls of this colored foam blanketing my car. What fun! But really all that matters is the result... I've truly never received a better wash from an automated car wash. My car looked like it came out of a detail shop.
