However, I'm sure that CVS keeps the student and staff population well prescribed and toiletried. Actually, maybe a should up the rating as they carry the Sunday New York Times! Starbucks stopped selling papers and I've come up empty at both big Hyvees in recent times, so seeing "All the News that's Fit to Print" smiling at me here was a real bonus. I've come in for other stuff too, mainly related to pain relief, allergy, shaving, dental, etc. You know, the usual that one would expect at CVS, Walgreen's, Rite Aid, etc. There also a nice small parking lot on the Welch Avenue side if you don't want to fight it on the street on Lincoln Way.

They stay open pretty late and have their own parking lot (for customers only, otherwise get ready to be towed!) so that's always a plus! The staff is nice and always willing to assist. Sometimes it seems like they're a bit understaffed, especially in the evenings. Nevertheless, a good store for your basic everyday needs.

Their air compressor is located at the side of their building and I really like it because it's a very heavy duty set up and it does not take long at all but five seconds each tire and their inflated. I then went inside because I kept seeing ads for their new karuba gold espresso drinks. They are having a special that any size was $1.99. The place is very nicely updated and extremely clean. I use the restroom which was clean and smell nice. It's a lot larger than it looks and it seems like they do pretty good business here. They had lots of hot food stocked and ready to go. They have a new machine that makes is espresso drinks. It's a touchscreen screen and you pick if you want to mocha cappuccino latte or an iced drink. You can pick your flavor and size. I went with a caramel latte with extra syrup. It wasn't quite sweet enough for me I wish I would've used some of their syrups they had located over by their coffee creamers. But it was a pretty awesome machine and I really wish I had one at home. The lady who checked me out was very nice. The only thing that would've made this a five-star visit was if I was greeted on my way in and it knowledged by employees who passed me by in the store. I had several of the kitchen helpers passed by me and not say a word. But overall a very strong visit.

This doesn't look like your average gas station from the outside-- or what it offers inside. There is plenty of parking and this spot really is pretty popular, with many folks local and not perusing. Bathroom were clean and the staff was friendly, but not super helpful. What I was most impressed by was the massive gift section. There were Hawkeye/Cyclone items, decor, wine and much more. Had I spent more time there, I am sure I would have walked out with a birthday present for my mother in-law or mom! Additionally, there is an Arbys (with a drive thru) and Godfathers housed here. Plus a robust amount of prepared food in the gas station itself. This is a gem!

Of note is the philosophical welcome sign across the street - "Steamboat Rock; if you lived here, you'd already be home."

Saturday February 18th 3:00 p.m. Needed to use the restroom…read morebefore shopping. Saw an employee go in. I waited 5 minutes... ... and another 5 minutes... Then hear videos being played in the stall. I asked the employee, "are you just sitting there watching videos?" He smugly replied, "yeah, I am" and turns up the volume. I go to a manager to complain, and I can't get him to even acknowledge my presence. I tried to tell him about the employee sitting in the bathroom just watching videos. He ignores me. No comment. Nothing. Straight out ignores me as if I was not there. When I go up the counter to make my purchases, he's behind the counter and won't make eye contact. On any other day, I would have nothing but praise for this store. I don't know the manager who ignored me, nor do I know the employee that was having his movie break. I don't know who, if anyone, was in charge. As a customer, I feel very disrespected by this treatment. I'm, however, so pleased that employees watching videos in the bathroom have a higher priority than customers. In any case, when a customer comes up to an employee, (let alone a manager) and has a complaint, be professional at least and have the common decency to not ignore the customer. I had come to expect more from Kwik Star.

I then asked the kitchen lady and she said it would be at least 20 minutes which is bull because they take less than 4 minutes to make in the fastest oven. She was very rude when she said it. I ended up not buying anything because of the rude kitchen lady.

But I soon found out that it was just a very large gas station. It looks like it's been recently renovated and was very clean inside. I stopped to get gas and to use the restroom. At first I wasn't really excited about the place when the gas pump kept shutting off. The handle Wednesday squeeze so I kept having To squeeze it. I finally gave up after a few gallons and just called it quits. The clerk Barb was really nice. She greeted me when I entered and thank me when I left. I still can't get over how big and roomy this gas station was.

There's a Kum & Go that's pretty creepy all the way up the street, but aside from that, you have to get off of San Marten to get any gas. As I'm someone who comes to the mall pretty often, I was glad to see this new gas station pop up. This gas station is also equipped with a car wash station. It's a very new building with a ton of gas pumps to match. However, despite just opening less than a month ago, three of the gas pumps were out of order. I had to actually wait in a line to get gas during the middle of a day on Thursday - which is something that has never happened to me. On the bright side, I guess it means that Waterloo really could have used this gas station. For those that don't want to worry about turning directly into, or out of, the gas station onto busy San Marten, Kwik-Star's parking lot directly connects to the Super Target parking lot, so you'll be able to get out in an indirect way that goes directly to a stoplight for an easier time getting back onto San Marten. Overall, it's definitely an awesome place for a gas station, and it's clear that it's new and clean. I was surprised to find that things were out of order already, and I was surprised to see quite so many people. Maybe people wouldn't have been waiting in line if all of the pumps were up - who knows? Either way, I'll be back.

I was appalled by this remark and therefore i will not be going here during bad weather.
