This is for the Kwik Kar located in Terrell across from Walmart: I brought my truck in to have the water pump, thermostat, and thermostat housing replaced as the water pump was leaking. I get a call that the work was completed but that my radiator is now leaking. It wasn't leaking when I brought the truck in. I spoke with the manager and he stated that the mechanic told him it was probably caused by too much pressure being placed in the radiator due to the water pump leaking and they could replace it for $800. I said no and picked up my truck. My truck now leaked alot more than it did when I brought it in and any true mechanic will tell you a leaking water pump cannot push more pressure than the radiator takes. I went and bought an OEM radiator and installed it myself as I have NO trust with those guys anymore. For the mechanic to state it that way makes me wonder if HE put too much pressure testing the radiator and realized it after he cracked it but this is a scenario that can't be proven. The mechanic is a dishonest individual and I will no longer do business with them. I'm a fair individual and can work with the truth but I can't work with dishonest people. read more

I gave a 2 because they seem to be the cheapest around however, you don't announce to every damn person in the place that someone is having money issues if you are. The owner came out and spoke extremely loud about someone wanting to come back for their inspection because he thought they had "money issues". Extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. read more

On 8/20/24, took in car for overheating. It was diagnosed as a needing a new radiator. Quoted $900 for new radiator and thermostat. $1000 and two months later, my car overheated again. Called Kwik Kar back and got the run around from the rudest man, Joe, concerning the warranty. Took the car to another shop, for half the price and quality work, the defective radiator was replaced. read more

Since it changed ownership it has gone downhill. Took all four of my vehicles there. And now that Andrew and his wife are now longer there. I will never go back. Andrew was so nice and always felt like he took personal car of your vehicle several months ago I took my 2009 Ford F-150 ford Lariet in for an oil change and wash. When we got home the gril insert was broken Contacted the manager and he denied it. A 2006 Buick Lessb Since it changed ownership it has gone downhill. Took all four of my vehicles there. Took my car in for inspection and oil change. They came back and said my battery was low on charge and I needed a new one. The battery light ONLY came on after I left. Come to find out they loosened the plugs on the battery to make it seem I needed a new one. Do not trust this place! Scammers. read more

NEVER GO TO KWIK KAR AND LUBE IN TERRELL TEXAS!!! Too bad I cannot give a zero!!! They tried to pull a fast one one my son and tell him that a regular oil change would ruin our car. I always get my car inspected here and it's always an easy process. I'm normally in and out in less than 15 minutes. They also do oil changes, which I did not have done here. For inspection, they are really quick and efficient. I would recommend them for a State inspection. I did notice that a woman was having her oil changed and they did try to up-sell her a "engine flushing" and windshield wipers. The woman declined and they didn't push her to buy the extra services. I still don't like the concept of up-selling that many car service businesses try to sell. However, this is common at most car places. 3.5 / 5 Update: June 2018. They are trying to upsell a little harder now. We (customers) generally don't like sales pressure when we are getting our yearly car inspection (aka TAX to State of Texas). Please don't push so hard to sell us stuff. If I think a mechanic is honest, I will return as a regular customer for oil changes, etc. I will go here again. read more

This is the worst place to get your car fix. I took my car to get spark plugs and wires change . When I picked up my car they told me it was $700 for the labor. Obioulsly im not going to pay them that much. The owner called me and wants to take my car away. They are the worst mechanic place in Terrell. Be careful. read more

They never mentioned anything about prices instead just start throwing things in your face about what your vehicle needs next thing you know it's $1500 in and they never talk to you about prices to me it was bad customer service won't be going back there. read more

High prices, poor customer service. Called ahead of time to ensure they had proper filter for my car, they said it was in stock. After I waited for 30 min, someone finally told me that one of their guys had to run to Auto Zone for a filter. Overall, oil change took over an hour. They didn't put the skid plate back on correctly which meant an additional trip back up there the following day to get it fixed. Also, didn't reset my oil change light on the dashboard. No apologies for the skid plate and no discount for the hassle. Overall I'm very disappointed in their customer service. I will definitely be going elsewhere in the future. The Valvoline off 205 in Rockwall has better customer service and is about 10-15 dollars cheaper. read more

This is the only "full-service" car wash in Terrell. The service is great and the people are VERY friendly here. Not only can you get your car/truck washed, they will also change your oil if needed. Nice little waiting area that has a t.v. while you wait. As a side note, as soon as I "checked in" via my Yelp app, I received a **FREE** car wash to be used then or it can be saved for my next visit. What a surprise that was!! read more
