This company came to my rescue!!!…read more I was invigilating exams in the Premier Inn nearby when one of my learners attended saying he had had a bump on the motorway. He was visibly shook up and in no fit state to take his maths exam that day. Over the road I saw Lodge Tyres and thought I would inquire about getting the front bumper secured so he could travel back to Redditch safely. The gentleman at the reception was very helpful and advised me to pull the car in so they could have a look at it. Once in the garage Pete and another lovely mechanic (whom I can't remember the name of sorry!) set away with cable ties and gaffa tape until it was drivable. When asked how much I got told "Don't worry about it" which was such a lovely gesture! Go here, you will be treat like a human being and maybe even have a bit of banter along the way. When I went to Lodge Tyres to get tracking done, I didn't feel as though I was being judged in any way - and I'm sure ladies will understand what I mean by that! The staff members are friendly and bubbly. They explain everything clearly, without trying to drown you out with technical terms. They offer detailed reports so you know how your car has been tested and what the results show. They tend to get very busy so it's worth calling in advance to book an appointment. Parking in the area can be a nightmare because it's so busy. Large trucks pass through these roads so you have to be cautious on where you park.

Car went in to have Injector 3 replaced. They did work without confirming price, then when I was contacted they told me there was a fault in the electrics so they couldn't clear the warning from the system - so car was stuck in emergency mode. Took it to another garage, turns out Halfords had changed the wrong injector, replacing number 2 instead of number 3. When I called them they agreed on the phone to put a new injector in number 3 to rectify the error as I pointed out the working one they had removed in error had been in their care for 24 hours so I had no guarantee of its state. When I arrived to drop the car off I asked the person who appeared to be the manager to confirm the resolution. He told me that they were putting the old one in, not a new one, so I was lied to on the phone. When I said that this was not acceptable he went to hand me my keys back and told me to go elsewhere, knowing that the car was barely driveable. Nasty, brutish, bullying, disgusting behaviour. I felt harassed and ganged up on with him and 4 of his staff and no choice but to accept what he was going to do. In what world is lying and bullying like this acceptable behaviour when the mistake was theirs? Reported to head office and I hope he loses his job!

She dropped off the car and later went back to pick up. As she didn't have her card on her, she offered to give her card details for payment but was refused, despite having the card on her mobile banking app as well as identity docs on her. As i was in a meeting, she ended up spending about an hour there for something that shouldn't take up to 5 minutes, putting school run at risk had we been without cover. The more upsetting thing is me giving Halford my card details over the phone, something that makes a mockery of their stated security reason. How can it make more sense to collect card details over the phone and no sense to physically collect along with id docs? After a drive back from the Cotswolds my Brother's car was sounding progressively worse - kind of…read morelike someone had thrown a bag of gravel in a heavy duty blender. So after we thankfully arrived home alive and without casualties he thought it would be a good idea to have the horrendous sound checked out. I accompanied him to Ratchet and Spanner, they said they would try and confirm what the cause of the problem was and get back to him in a couple of days. So after a couple of days they believed they had identified the problem, apparently the radiator fan has come loose and was grinding against the surrounding casing - no major biggie according to them. They installed a new one and. . . peace at last, relative to how it was, it felt like I was passenger in one of the smoothest auto-mobiles cruising the streets of Birmingham. £20 down and a functioning fan up - that seems like a fair trade to me.

This is a fantastic garage. Whenever I have called up to book my car in for a service or MOT I have…read morenever had a problem booking in. The lady who works in the reception office is an angel! She keeps the boys in the garage in check and has fantastic customer service skills. She remembers everyone's name when they come in and if I have had to wait before seeing her, she is alway apologetic. In fact, the noticeboard in the office is full of letters saying thank you and commending the place and the excellent customer service. The lads who work in the garage are very nice too. My car has never needed to stay over night and I usually get it back at the end of the day if I have booked it in early in the morning. Once, my car needed quite a lot doing to it, but they phoned me before they went ahead with it as it was going to be pricey and wanted to ensure I still wanted to go through with it. I thought that this was really professional and fair. They also always offer to give me a lift back home, which is not too far away, which is very kind too. I like this place as the staff are brilliant and they are professional and treat my car well. Very trustworthy and helpful people.

The extreme winters have caused so many potholes that your tyres get a battering just as you drive…read morearound. And with the amount of roadworks going on, I've had two punctures from nails in the road within the last year! When I have any issues with my car tyres I come to Tyre Link. They have new tyres for £55 (which I bartered down to £50!) and part-worn for around £20. The owner is very polite and frank. He asks me to sit in the car while he changes the tyre rather than standing out in the cold. He even explains the problem with the tyre and how, if at all, it can be avoided in future. Additionally, he cleans the rims without any extra cost. They're open Monday to Saturday and occasionally on Sundays. This is by far the most female-friendly tyre-supplier I've come across!
