One of the most horrific experiences I have ever had in terms of complete incompetence and disgusting customer service at Halfords Autocentre, Rodney Road, Portsmouth. Car went in to have Injector 3 replaced. They did work without confirming price, then when I was contacted they told me there was a fault in the electrics so they couldn't clear the warning from the system - so car was stuck in emergency mode.
Took it to another garage, turns out Halfords had changed the wrong injector, replacing number 2 instead of number 3.
When I called them they agreed on the phone to put a new injector in number 3 to rectify the error as I pointed out the working one they had removed in error had been in their care for 24 hours so I had no guarantee of its state.
When I arrived to drop the car off I asked the person who appeared to be the manager to confirm the resolution. He told me that they were putting the old one in, not a new one, so I was lied to on the phone. When I said that this was not acceptable he went to hand me my keys back and told me to go elsewhere, knowing that the car was barely driveable.
Nasty, brutish, bullying, disgusting behaviour. I felt harassed and ganged up on with him and 4 of his staff and no choice but to accept what he was going to do. In what world is lying and bullying like this acceptable behaviour when the mistake was theirs?
Reported to head office and I hope he loses his job! read more
