Zac then came out to replace the pilot light assembly and was outstanding- took the time to organize the wires and very deeply clean the entire system. After installing the new part, he spent about 20 minutes explaining all of the parts of the fireplace to me, how they work, and how to troubleshoot potential issues. He was professional and took the time to answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. Overall an outstanding company. Would absolutely use them again for any future issues or general maintenance. We called to schedule the appointment right as it was getting cold (so I'm sure their busiest time!) and they quickly and easily got us on the calendar.

It was mid-October 2022 when we contacted him to see if he could fix the poorly constructed chimney in our 50 year old home. We had not had a fire in the fireplace for at least a decade because when we tried, the house became smoky and we had to open windows. He carefully inspected the spalling exterior brickwork, broken mortar, cracked crown, cracked flue, existing and improperly installed damper, and firebox. He gave us an estimate and well-informed advice. We were delighted that despite the lateness of the season, rainy cold weather, and his other work commitments, he and his crew were able to finish the work in time for Thanksgiving. I hired John Tomas to replace rotten fascia on my home and agreed on a final price. However the…read morelocal city inspector already informed me I had to have a permit from the city to complete the job. John initially told me I didn't need one but I was adamant because I had to pass my home inspection and the inspector would be looking for the permit or else I would be fined for noncompliance. Before going to the city John said I would owe hime an extra $150 for the permit. John was dishonest and I was over charged because the permit had a fee written on the back which was approximately $40. I asked John why did it only say $40 and he is charging me $150 but he just made an excuse that it was probably for the cost of the paper. Card board? seriously?. The work was ok but because of the dishonesty I will not use or refer Dependable home repairs again. A week later I had an asphalt drive installed for $2400 and why was that permit only $50 which the company took care of but the fascia repair job was only $675 yet I was told the permit cost $150.
