The day she was moving in, she came to my front door extremely rude, intimidating and very aggressively over parking. My partner and I were very stunned by the way she was speaking to me. Her parents own Reaction Realty, and they own the property where I lived. Before she moved next door to me, I had lived there very happily and peacefully for 20 years without any issues, but the minute she moved next door, my life turned into a nightmare. It turned into a "very toxic and trashy environment". Every time I used to see her, she was very unfriendly, impolite and rude to the point that I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe around her. When I called Reaction Realty to bring up the parking issue, and how offensive she was to me. Sandra, her mom stated, "You cannot park there anymore because the new tenant needs the space to park and charge her car". Oh! And she's paying extra for parking. Do you really think that Sandra was going to charge her daughter to park there? I don't think so! My 20-year parking privileges were taken away just like that because Leia kept claiming that I was blocking her car, (There is enough space to park 3 cars there) Well, two months after I had mentioned this, Reaction Realty kicked me out of my apartment. There were trash bags with dog poop on her porch every day. I guess she was too lazy to walk to the trash cans, which were close by. Well, I had to walk past her porch to get to my car, so I had to see the trash every day, and that made me feel extremely uncomfortable also. I don't think "client relations" is one of Leia's strong skills because her first and ongoing interactions with me were extremely "self-entitled", unfriendly, very impolite and rude. Because of the negative experience that I was having with her I didn't want to go out of the apartment. I felt trapped in my own house. I was so stressed out and afraid that I sought legal counsel who advised me that I should file a formal complaint with the San Bernardino Court because they felt that this woman was harassing me, which I did, but after I thought about it, I decided to not to go through with it because I didn't want them retaliating against me or throw me out of my apartment. Well, they kicked me out anyway. They didn't care that I was loyal tenant, and that I had already lived there for 20yrs, and by the way, I am a senior citizen.

If you are moving from far away to Claremont, the best way to go is with a trusted real estate agent. We tried using Craigslist and various web sites, but we ran into the issues such as places not being posted until a week before, outdated listings, agents that wanted to charge for access to listings, places being rented very quickly, and last but not least, multiple scams that we fortunately identified and avoided. From our experience, I can highly recommend Curtis Real estate, in particular realtor John Baldwin. John went above and beyond to help us find the right place. For example, to bridge the gap he kindly went to various rentals and shot videos with his flip-cam and uploaded them for us to review, which as absolutely amazing! Since he's been working in Claremont for some time now, he was also able to give us the low down and history on many of the rentals, the landlords and the neighborhoods. We found him very easy going, on top of things, extremely helpful and honest. In the end, he landed us an absolutely great place, with more room than we expected a great landlady and wonderful neighborhood, all within our designated budget.
