I own a major brand 2008 Japanese car. Not the top of the line, but far from the bottom. It has a…read moredashboard GPS system with a screen that displays the GPS as well as various settings and radio/CD controls. It has 2 CD drives, one for music and one for the GPS map CD. I popped out the CD for the GPS maps one day and when I reinserted it it made a clicking sound and everything went away except for the radio. I took it to the dealership, they said the whole unit was bad and had to be replaced. $2,400.00. It wasn't worth that to us, but we still were unhappy that we had a non-functional audio unit. A trusted local mechanic told me to take it to Harms. Steve and I sat down in the car, I explained what had happened and let him take a look. He wasn't positive, but suspected the problem was with the GPS CD drive (I had suspected this also) and that since it didn't work, the system couldn't boot up. It took just a couple of minutes to pull out and I left it with him to see what he could do. It took a couple of weeks, but he replaced the bad CD unit and reinstalled it, now everything is back to where it was originally. The dealership's solution was to replace the whole unit, Harms just replaced the faulty CD drive, his cost, $309.00. He took the time and had the knowledge to repair rather than replace. We're happy with the service we got from Harms Labs.

I had Steve work on my home stereo amp a while back and he got it all fixed up very quickly and for…read morea reasonable price so when I recently had the audio go out in one of my cars, I called Steve about checking the amp and possibly repairing it. Steve took the time to chat with me about his experience with that particular amp and that it was notorious for failing because of the structure of it and the positioning in the wheel well that caused a lot of shock to the unit. He went on to tell me where I could find an upgraded model of the amp and that he would be happy to help me out if I ran into any problems installing it. I was able to get a replacement amp and after installing it, have an audio system that sounds as good as new. He could have very easily told me he couldn't help me, but instead took the time to talk to me about how I could go about getting my problem fixed. Even though I didn't need any work done in this case, I will not hesitate to take my next job to Steve to work on when the need arises.

We were in the process of building a new home in Berthoud and knew we wanted to have the house…read morepre-wired for home theater and whole-house sound. We were then introduced to Brian who met us at the house when it was being framed and he began to provide us with suggestions. We enjoyed working with Brian and felt comfortable with his style so we moved forward. Brian is a dealer for Tru Audio products and Nuvo whole house audio systems. His recommendations for these products is where Brian made a couple of missteps. Brian recommended Nuvo without really taking the time to understand our music listening needs. We are Apple Music subscribers and Nuvo did not have a license to access this causing some initial frustration. However, let me be clear: Brian never once wavered from his commitment to ensure we were satisfied. He communicated with us properly and we ultimately chose Sonos as the proper solution. All Nuvo equipment was swapped out and we have been extremely pleased with the end result. The other misstep involved his recommendation for built-in subwoofers for the home theater in our finished basement. This was a recommendation from Tru Audio even though Sight/Sound had never installed these previously. It ended up being the wrong solution as these made the walls vibrate to the point where movies were unlistenable. Once again Brian stepped up and promised to make the situation right. He removed the subwoofers, paid to have the drywall repaired and replaced them with a standard cube subwoofer. We were left satisfied. Even with these mistakes, we are very satisfied with the end result. Brian's integrity along with the excellent service and skill of his installer Nathan made all the difference. They care about their customers and it showed in how we were treated. I would recommend Brian for all your sight, sound and security needs.

Good afternoon, We…read morespoke briefly over the phone today, and you sent Drew to our house to do the ceiling light fixture install that we discussed. Fine work. A fine young man. What I did was remover a ceiling fan and deloped a means to hang an arts and crafts ceiling light and shade. While my work, to develop a means to hang what was a lamp Arts and Crafts lamp shade, to use a ceiling light, in the process I miss-wired and developed a short, hence the call to you. I also wasn't fully OK with my system to hang the heavy'ish shade, that once was a lamp shade. Hence the call to your shop. Drew did a great job of both checking and fixing the wiring problem, but also developing a sturdier means to attach the inverted lamp shade.
