Instead, we were spoken to in a confrontational and argumentative manner, being told that because a visit took place, payment was required. It is deeply frustrating to go to a medical facility, pay for care, and then be left dealing with mistakes, poor communication, and an unpleasant attitude. Medical offices should take responsibility for their errors and treat patients with basic respect. I am leaving this review so others can avoid the same upsetting and uncomfortable experience.

The reference commission, money, is a key factor why John Kim refers to. 3. Office staff, called Julie, is not aware of HIPPA law which protect patient's privacy. This staff speaks broken English and yell in Korean or English to the patient waiting in the office for the result, "You are XXX cancer" or "xxx ". I will report it legally soon. If you really love your loved one in sick, please take time to find a good doctor who seriously takes care of your patient and you never regret it. Over 50% of your loved one's survival chance is depending on your doctor, This doctor is not for you from my experience. I called to inform I'm a new patient. Receptionist took my info and said she had to verify I was covered before making my appt. she never called me back. The next morning I called and was verified over the phone immediately (maybe the other girl was too busy for me) and schedule my appt for the next week and said anytime before the day of my appt I could walk in and have my blood drawn (great! No orders or referrals needed) in the same office. 3.5-4 wait time. Since I was a first time patient they gave me an iPad to use to fill out my forms. I was also able to sWipe my credit Card to save on file for any future payments. This is great since my previous doctors was cash/check only. This process took about 15 min (lots of personal questions, emergency contact, past medical history). After that it took another 15-20 min to be called in to see The doctor. My appt. was 9:20a. I arrived at 9:05a and was on my way home 10:40a 5/5 staff and doctor. My doctor was really nice, informative, knowledgeable and sincere in listening to my problems. She cared about my health AND mental wellbeing. Staff for check in was professional and thorough. Phlebotomist was a young Hispanic girl that was also very nice. However, there's was an older Hispanic phlebotomist that stuck me 3 times even though I told her if she's using that vein then only a butterfly needle would work with that vein. She didn't listen. See pic posted. 5/5 facility. It's easy to find. Both times I've visited I found parking right in front of the building as soon as I turned in. The place is clean and gives a semi-new feeling. I visited PIH for the first time in October 2023 and did my annual physical which is fully covered by my insurance. I received a bill in December for a second outpatient and preventative medicine visit. I was confused by this charge and reached out to the billing team and Cerritos office managers. I was informed I was charged due to my answers when I was asked how I was doing by the doctor during the annual physical. I have always been able to speak openly about my health or if I felt anything was wrong during an annual physical and was not informed by PIH that doing so would result in an additional charge. I believe this is a misleading practice and feel taken advantage of since it was my first time using PIH. The office managers and billing team both informed me that there is nothing they could do, and the office managers mentioned that they have been charged in the same manner before by PIH and just did not want to fight the charge. It was Christmas Eve, I set an afternoon appointment and arrived with what felt like strep throat and terrible sinus pressure. The wait was about 35 minutes. While the office staff is friendly, and the wait wasn't long, I was quick to learn why. When I sat with the physician's assistant, she offered a homeopathic suggestion, but was reluctant to prescribe me anything, insisting that my sinus infection was most likely viral and not bacterial. She said I needed to use a neti pot to run water through my sinuses. When I told her, I just "Want to not be miserable with my toddler while we are unwrapping gifts under the tree," she was empathetic enough to prescribe me an antibiotic, with the request that I wait 1 week before I take it. When I arrived in the afternoon to pick my medication up at the pharmacy, the pharmacist came out to tell me she was calling Carbon Health because I would have an anaphylactic reaction if I took it. Nobody answered, they were closed at that point. So there I was, it was Christmas and I'm left with a medication I could not take. If I did, I would have a severe allergic reaction, potentially constricting my airway and sending me to the hospital. So you have to ask yourself, who was checking my chart which listed the medications I was allergic to? It doesn't look like anyone was. A few days later, I was able to get this fixed with Carbon Health. All told, it has been a tough few days, and I just want to get better now.
