Doctors and workers are unprofessional because they are short tempered, in patient, and do not follow through with appointments. Quality of care is poor because they rush through appointments and they overbook appointments just to collect more copayments. Be careful with this office. read more

John Kim at Cerritos Medical Center is highly NOT recommended for any patients. Let me list a couple of reasons from my experience. ! 1. He does not provide a cause of symptom to maximize his profit instead suggest unnecessary time-consumping treatment for even crystal-clear risky cancer which very often make the patient condition too late to take a surgery in time. 2. The special doctors he refers to the patients are 9 out 10 unqualified useless or harmful doctors who will take the patients into wrong treatment. The reference commission, money, is a key factor why John Kim refers to. 3. Office staff, called Julie, is not aware of HIPPA law which protect patient's privacy. This staff speaks broken English and yell in Korean or English to the patient waiting in the office for the result, "You are XXX cancer" or "xxx ". I will report it legally soon. If you really love your loved one in sick, please take time to find a good doctor who seriously takes care of your patient and you never regret it. Over 50% of your loved one's survival chance is depending on your doctor, This doctor is not for you from my experience. Used to be my go-to place. They used to accommodate quick appointments due to urgency so I really appreciated it. The quality went down of the last few visits. Office staff was rude at some points. Saw nurse practitioner, got denied treatment and offered an alternate that did not sit well with me, and then was asked to come back in a week for my actual problem. Got charged for the visit and charged me again for the second one despite the fact that first visit could have resolved everything. They only want to charge obscene amounts of money. read more

I've been bringing my mom to Dr.Kim's for awhile now. We actually were searching to do a colonoscopy for my parents and somehow found Dr.Kim. His staff is friendly, his office is clean and he's seriously the nicest doctor. Now my mom comes regularly if she needs to see a doctor. His cost are reasonable especially if you don't have medical insurance. A doctor visit will run you about $60 with no insurance. Dr.Kim is always there to answer any kinda questions and he's very informative. He will take the time to explain all the technical terms and also only recommend procedures if completely necessary. I'm so happy we found him and highly recommend him. Walk-ins are available however he seems to be always busy, so suggest making an appointment. read more

Took my 82 year old father on a walk-in last year because I wasn't happy with his long time doctor. Dr. Kim was AMAZING! Ran numerous test and X-rays, and took the time to really discuss the findings with us both. He then recommended a fantastic heart surgeon, who with the help of Dr. Kim making a call, saw my father hours later. A successful surgery to clear the "widow maker" artery and stint soon after, and my father is doing great. I highly recommend Dr. Kim. It's rare to find a doctor who takes the time to really discuss the findings and help the plan for the future. read more

This doctor must be the worst we ever experienced. My mom has been going here for her asthma problem and even had to go E/R several times but he didn't even bother to recommend to her to see specialist because his afraid she doesn't need to see him. When we request him to approve for her to see specialist he deny saying they couldn't do better... He is just a family doctor, not a respiratory specialist?! As of matter of fact, when she was in the E/R they told us that she has COPD not asthma~ I think this doctor is just greedy, doesn't care about the patients. read more

I just went to see DR. JOHN S KIM last week and I am left extremely impressed. John is a thoughtful, considerate, and capable medical practitioner. They make your minimal waiting room time much more pleasant with Netflix videos. He took the time to get to know me since it was my first visit. We had a great rapport while working through all of my ailments and concerns in a non-hurried manner. Let me put it this way.. you want a doctor who's old enough to know what he's doing, but not so old that you outlive his career. Being a former patient of Dr. Kim, it pains me to have to leave this review. Dr. Kim is actually a great doctor, very personable, knowledgeable, and gets the diagnosis right, but that's only if and when you actually get to see him. Chances are you will probably only see the NP unless you've booked him months in advance. The NPs do a fine job and I have no issue with them. What bothers me is the business practice of ripping off patients. I had done a complete physical in December (my wife as well) and in January I called their office asking them to forward the results to my insurance company to use for my annual wellness exam credit. I was told that I need to show up in person to make such a request. Additionally our physicals has not taken a waist circumference so that number was needed. When I visited their office on February 9 to make the request they retook weight and blood pressure for me and my wife along with a waist measure, then months later billed us as a regular office visit. Insurance viewed this as a pointless office visit and would not pay any portion of it. In the end my wife and I were billed for an office visit that was unnecessary and provided no relevant medical benefit. I disputed with their office and was basically left to go pound sand. I went to Dr.Kim couple days ago for the first time as I was worried that I might have strep throat... When I got there, the front staffs were very friendly and nice. The doctor prescribed me with some antibiotics and stated that it wasn't strep throat. Like most patients, I came out of the doctors office thinking that I should be getting better in few days... About 2 days after I started on my antibiotics, my symptoms were getting worse and also started having fever, which was up to 102. So I decided to call the doctors office to see if I can speak to the doctor about my symptoms. The front staff kindly said she will leave a message to call me back as the doctor was busy. Up to that point, I understood that he might be with a patient. Two days passes by and he still has not gotten back to me so I called again to see if I can speak to him. The response I got again was, I will leave another message with a doctor. If the doctor truly cared about their patient, I believe they should at least call them back or advise his assistant to call me back if they are too busy. All I wanted to see was if I should get a lab work done, see my specialist, go see him for a second visit or take different medication. I'm leaving this review as I don't want another patient to go through what I had to go through. read more

Welcome to the age where we have an entire generation who is aging and in desperate need of care. Sadly, some of the members of this generation have habits that they were told were good for them that we later found to be horrible. Does that mean that they don't deserve proper health care in their later years? I believe if you asked Dr Kim his answer would be to let them go. I have watched him provide care that I would not even consider minimal care to my grandmother. His current referrals either are not part of her insurance plan or don't even answer their phone. After a recent surgery she suffered from an infection which he didn't even investigate. He placed her on home IV fluid and sent her on her way. Thank goodness the hospital has sent home health care nursing with her. I am beyond sick with the treatment she has been receiving up to this point. read more

What is the point to make an appointment? Every time i made an appointment here my wait time is always more than an hour either they have patients or not. It was really frustrating experience. 30min after my appointment time they only check my weight n blood pressure n made me wait in the small room for another 15+min.. I never felt like this doctor cared about me. He seems trigger happy in prescribing drugs but does not listen well, and if he does, he really did not care what I was saying about my situation, my health. It seemed his ego of being a medical doctor is bigger than his listening skills. He is very sarcastic in his tone and language and often times talked to me like I was a small child. It seems Dr. Kim will only respond to one medical issue at a time which left me to return with the same issues as the first time and payment of another co-pay. The online medical portal is antiquated and only useful if his staff takes time to fill it in and update. My most recent procedure in his office was the most humiliating as I had to repeat myself over and over to ensure my safety and wellbeing was attended to and the pain I endured was unbearable. Even worse, the problem still exist. Word of advise, I assume he listens and cares for many of his patients, but just know, that all are not treated equally. read more

I was here to see Dr. John Kim because I had a really bad cough. It was actually my first time and I'm glad I found them on yelp! I called and asked if they take walk ins and once the lady said they do before 11am, I made sure I was there before their cut off time! Completed the forms and waited. He was the best doctor I've ever dealt with, ever! At first I thought it'd be the same as the previous visits I've had with other doctors, awkward. But it was different, office was clean, the staff were very professional. One of the ladies that was working there even gave me a mask because I was coughing like crazy! I came as a walk in customer, so I understand I had to wait at least an hour for me to see the doctor, but it was worth the wait, and yes, they were busy for a reason. Dr. John Kim was really nice, he takes time to actually talk to you, and like what other people mentioned on their reviews he listens, and unlike other doctors he actually cares about the patient not just the money ! . Dr. John Kim is a great doctor and his staff is very friendly, I just did a review on the Cerritos Medical Clinic not seeing Dr. had his own. I was a walk In first time patient in so much pain and had called every doctors office in my are and none had an opening or couldn't take me in, Cerritos Medical Center was the last on my list that google had provided of Dr. and clinic near me .The clinic takes walk in patients before 4:00 pm. The clinic office is nice clean and organized. The waiting wasn't long 15 minutes later they called us in Not sure if that's the same waiting for everyone else ? I guess it would depend on the patients they have with appointments that day? Dr John Kim walked in very friendly introduced him self and shook our hand and examined me and asked me questions on my condition he gave a shot for my strep throat and prescribed me medicine and said he would see me in 2 weeks . I will definitely see him in 2 weeks. I had tried my best to avoid Dr. in the past I keep my medicine cabinets fully stocked and have used the ER for any emergency. I'm very happy to have found Dr. John Kim there is still Good kind and caring doctors. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Kim for over 25 years. He is very thorough and yet doesn't rush to run tests or prescribe drugs without careful diagnosis. His office is very efficient with great support staff and barring unforseen circumstances you are promptly seen within your appointment. Even walkin patients are seen relatively quickly. He does most exams such as labs, xrays, pulmonary, in his office so you don't have to run around. His referrals for specialists are all equally excellent. read more

I gave him two stars because he's friendly and knowledgeable. But other than that I found him to be like any other typical doctors' who are in it for the money. He claims he doesn't work with any attorneys for auto accidents but that's because he doesn't want to give discounts. He wanted to collect his full pay but he acted like it's out integrity for reason not working with attorneys. Whatevers...
