I brought my cat her for a new patient visit…read more The booking experience and office staff were lovely and helpful. The exam itself was incredibly quick and the vet did not ask many questions and her answer when I asked if she had reviewed her chart made me think she had not looked at the records I sent over prior. This was also highlighted by when I saw her chart from the visit, it needed corrections. I had some concerns with the rabies vaccine process as well. The vaccine did not have a label on it, which after a past bad experience I like to double check what is given. Also the rabies tag is huge for a cat, and the office staff was sweet and did look into getting a smaller one, but ultimately said no. I found this vet through catfriendly since I wanted a vet who had cats and a practice who was elevated on that front. That is why I traveled when I have other vets who are closer distance-wise. Overall it was a fine vet experience, the office staff was lovely, the vet was kind if not as thorough as I am used to, and it was a perfectly okay visit. However I thought it would be better based on the price tag and catfriendly cert. I am not sure if it is worth traveling for, but if you're nearby it is okay.

I really value and cherish that I found this veterinary hospital. I legitimately love this place…read more In the past, I have always found going to the vet to be a deeply stressful experience. This place is the total opposite of my experiences elsewhere. I have the most pleasant and easy experiences every time I come here. Dr. Rotsides loves my cat, gives him so cuddles and attention, and everyone here is so kind and sweet with him. It is so clean and has a quiet atmosphere -- just a great vibe. And they don't overcharge me or ask me to do a million costly tests. My cat got his exam -- we were in and out in 30 minutes. I totally recommend.

Traci and Jon are outstanding. My cat had a rough couple of months before she died of cancer…read more Traci and Jon went above and beyond to help Leonora stay as comfortable as possible. They even came as late as 2 am to help Leonora feel better. My cat started having some problems in the fall of last year. I did not know what to do. Luckily, I found Traci and Jon and I knew Leonora was in good hands. You will not find more caring vets.

I am ***completely*** blown away by Dr. Traci Vogler and Jon Spiegel and cannot thank them enough…read morefor the deep caring, kindness, and compassion they showed to our dear kitty and to us. I called them on a Saturday evening when it became clear our beloved cat was suffering and that it was his "time" and to my relief they were able to be there within 30 minutes. I am immeasurably grateful for their help at this difficult time, for their heartfelt kindness and patience and to explain everything to us and help us understand, after examining our cat, that we were making the right decision. They let us take as much time as we needed through the process. They could not have been more perfect, from the very first telephone conversation, they said all the right things, with authentic empathy and caring - for us and our cat - and helped so very much as we did the kindest thing we could do for our kitty and let him go peacefully. I sincerely wish them all the best, and recommend them highly to anyone needing veterinary care for their beloved pet.

I do NOT recommend this clinic…read more I brought my dog, Gucci, in for a surgical procedure on 24th of February and what followed was one of the most stressful and upsetting experiences I've ever had! At discharge, I was told that sutures and surgical glue were used and that everything was secure. I trusted that information and brought my dog home believing he would heal properly. He cried nonstop the entire ride home and continued crying for two days straight. I couldn't even sleep because of how much he was suffering. Just a few days later, on February 28, his incision completely opened and began bleeding heavily. I could actually see inside the wound. On top of that, he was struggling to breathe. It was terrifying. I had no choice but to rush him to an emergency Trumbull Veterinary Hospital, where they had to properly suture the wound and stabilize him with additional treatment and medication. This resulted in significant, unexpected expenses that should have never happened if the original procedure had been done correctly. To make matters worse, I noticed scratches near his private area and called the clinic. I was dismissed and told it was probably razor burn, but it looked like careless cuts. My dog was in extreme pain. Now my service dog has anxiety due to this malpractice. I followed all post-op instructions carefully, so there is no excuse for the wound reopening like that. (no he did not lick his wound because he had his cone and prevented him from getting there) This situation caused serious physical harm to my dog and emotional distress for both of us. Based on my experience, I strongly believe there was a lack of proper care and professionalism. I would not trust this clinic with any animals again. I will be filing a formal complaint.

Disqualifies Strays Unless They're Wild Beasts -- Go to Whiskers Rescue Instead!…read more Be warned if you manage local community cats: PFA Hillside's TNR program explicitly advertises coverage for Homeless, Stray, and Feral cats, but management has recently shifted toward disqualifying legitimate strays to force $67 "Pet" upcharges on caretakers. I brought in a 6-year-old unneutered stray who violently attacked me (requiring a state-mandated 10-day rabies hold) and was terrorizing local colony cats. Because I applied a calming collar to suppress his severe, testosterone-driven aggression during the 10-day rabies hold--protecting myself, my colony, and clinic technicians during intake--PFA arbitrarily used this safety measure to reclassify a dangerous street cat as a "Pet." After intake, staff called me over the phone and essentially held the surgery hostage--demanding an extra $67 or threatening to hand an aggressive 6-year-old unneutered cat back to me. When I questioned this, I was treated like a Fraudster/Scammer/Flight Risk trying to dodge fees despite my history of bringing in multiple strays. I am far from the only caretaker experiencing this--other multi-year volunteers have reported identical surprise upcharges and hostile treatment. By threatening to hand back unneutered, aggressive street cats over an arbitrary $67 fee, PFA is prioritizing revenue while actively undermining the entire mission of community TNR. I sent a documented appeal detailing this billing misclassification to the Executive Director and all 5 Board members. Not a single board member or administrator responded. The 3 stars are strictly for the medical team (1 star for each of the 3 strays I've brought here who survived surgery). But administratively, PFA is penalizing caretakers who spend their own money to fix community cats. If distance wise you have to utilize their services, I advise going through a rescue mediator or voucher program to avoid them nickel and diming you in person and over the phone. Take your homeless, stray, feral, and personal pet cats to Whiskers Rescue instead for compassionate, grant-backed spay/neuter care!
