We moved to NJ so this location is mode convenient for us. Went here for a follow up for my baby's ACTH test on a Friday. Since it's not the first time, it went by a lot smoother. The intake process went by fast. Then they took her to the back and got her bloodwork. After that we took her for a stroll around the shopping area and came back 45 minutes for the second bloodwork. Since its almost easter they took a cute picture of her with bunny ears. Derek the manager of the location was very accommodating. He told me that the results could be back the following day and for us to call just in case they are too busy since it going to be weekend. The next day I called in the morning and they said that only partial results came back which is fine. By the afternoon they have the results but just needs to be reviewed by the Providers just so we can adjust the medications. Around 5pm Saturday, Derek called to keep me on the loop regarding the results. Since she was seen originally by a different Vet in Astoria, even though they are under the same company, the Astoria Vet has to be the one that adjust the medication. He made sure that I was updated regarding my baby's results. And I appreciate it dearly. We will be back in 3 months. Big Pro- there's a big parking lot so didn't have to worry about parking as compared to the vets in NY

After several months, it was discovered she had a neurological disorder. We were referred to a neurologist. Our job was to keep her comfortable for her remaining time with us. Despite no longer treating her, the doctor and staff called to check on her. They listened when I called them crying, concerned about what to do next. They sent a handwritten card after they learned that we had lost her. We have since adopted my pup's sister and have returned to Cranford Animal Hospital. When you walk in (with or without your furry friend) they know who you are. We were there last night and sat with the vet tech for 15 minutes while she listened and made my scared puppy feel comfortable before bringing her back for routine vaccinations. I have seen both doctors and they are both incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. If I call during business hours, I've never had to leave a message. Someone always answers the phone. If anything other than normal test results come back, the doctor calls you directly to discuss next steps. I see many people complain about the cost of service. You pay for the care you get, and I truly believe that. My biggest advice, GET INSURANCE. I pay the cost up front and get reimbursed by insurance. You can browse plans online and choose your deductible and reimbursement percentage. You can get wellness/prevention covered as add ons to most plans. Thank you to ALL the staff at Cranford Animal Hopsital. You are all so much more appreciated than you know! Keep doing exactly what you're doing! -- Sassi, Lightning, and Ashley

Once they were ready someone came to the door to get my dog. An overall pleasant experience.

Unbelievable lack of care and compassion What a stressful 24…read morehours. My 8-month-old pup, Sasha, was miserable last night barking, moaning, and acting incredibly uncomfortable. Because Sasha has been going to the Union Banfield since she was 8 weeks old and received all her vaccines there, I naturally rushed her there first thing in the morning. She has never been sick before, so I expected a little empathy. Instead, I was met with complete disbelief. After explaining how much pain Sasha was in, they flat-out refused to see her. They literally just slid a clipboard across the counter with a list of other locations and turned us away. To be turned away by your primary vet when your puppy is hurting is heartbreaking. Thankfully, I called the Watchung location, and they were the complete opposite. It turns out Sasha is just in her first heat and her symptoms are completely normal, but Union's total lack of effort to help a loyal, worried pet parent is entirely unacceptable. I will never bring her back to this location

My issue was only resolved when I asked to speak with the manager and she was apologetic and gave me the first available appointment but it still does not make up for the fact that they are dismissive with the customers that call through the line. What difference does it make with a customer being in front of you vs on the phone? Both should be treated as a priority and unfortunately they take you as a joke unless you're in front of them, or stand your ground on the phone
