FRONT DESK is incompetent and mis-told us the date of my pet's teeth surgery! I found out when I…read morewalked in that the date was 2 days later! (after the weekend). Nancy kept insisting that she told us the pre-surgery instructions yesterday when she didn't. Later Dr. Ferreira said they'd tell us this tomorrow, so the front desk lady keeps saying she said things she never said! Then a nice staff asks me to explain what happens. I tell Sean, and he said Dr. Nazar whom we saw, can perform surgery on my pet if we decide to move forward. Now, I'm feeling comfortable as Dr. Nazer seem good. I tell the front desk this, and they said they removed me and can't unchange it! Nancy at front desk mishears me and mistates to Dr. Ferreira that "Sean said that they can do the surgery" when all he said was, I have the option to do it if I wanted to. While we were talking in the room, Dr. Ferreira apparently told them to remove and don't schedule because when I said I'd want to do it for my cat's sake, she replied that they won't help me because I told them that i didn't like their services and told me to go elsewhere. Just WOW. When I tried to speak up, she'd accuse me of "yelling at her". She expects you to go silently w/o protest after she kicks you out of the office. When i told her, "Basically your siding w/ your front desk staffs", she replied, "I'm protecting this whole office." She's talking to me w/ one hand on her hip and looking at me hard and mean. I realize that I don't want to come here, like ever. There are some PROS: Dr. Nazer seems solid and good. Sean was deescalating when he took me to the room and talked. CONS: I waited 55 min yesterday to be seen b/c there was just 1 vet. There was an urgent case, so on those days, expect to wait a long time. Front desk is incompetent and mishears all the time. What she hears you say and what you actually said are different. Same with what she actually says and thinks she says are different. Cost is high. I paid almost $1K for basic exams for 2 cats. Had 1 blood work done on 1 cat and cleaned out his ears and got an eardrop. This EXCLUDES any teeth surgery procedures.

Whether it be regular care, or emergency care, I have found them to be very professional, but also kind and considerate. Having always had a lot of animals, I've learned to ask the prices before having something done and they are very good about letting you know the cost of each procedure and making suggestions about what steps to consider. I love the on line scheduling, but most of all, I love their patience, especially with my one dog who is a drama queen.

The new Dr that took over recommended an injection to bring his appetite back then gave me medication to administer to my cat every 12 hours- that was $157. On top of that, the Dr. recommended blood work and if they checked his poop - the entire visit would've been close to $500. Crazy thing is!!?? That includes none of his yearly shots that he's supposed to get. Long story short - my cat did have an appetite after the injection (same day) BUT after giving him the other medication via mouth - it seems like his symptoms got worse. He started drooling at the mouth and still has liquid diarrhea. At this point, I just purchased some stuff from Petco based off the reviews and hope that does the trick. The previous Dr that owned the practice literally charged me $35 for medication that actually worked - my cat was healed in about 2-3 days. The staff were nice - the Dr was very nice- everyone was great!! However, the issue wasn't resolved smh.

Literally, Dr. Lindsay saved my pet's life…read more I don't live in Westfield and am not a patient of WVG. My parents' had used Dr. Lindsay for their pets and found her to be extremely thorough in examinations/diagnoses and gently with their pets. So, at my wits' end, I went to Dr. Lindsay for help when i had an unbelievably sick pet. Sophie started vomiting in March 2010, increasing in frequency and volume for a few weeks. I contacted my own vet group for help. They ran a battery of tests and told me she had IBD. I went home with medications that worked for about 2 days, then stopped working. I talked to another dr. at the same practice who told me to try the medication for 2 more weeks. When that didn't work, I saw a third doctor at the same practice who ran the same battery of tests over again and confirmed that it had to be IBD. Fast forward 2 months - sophie is still vomiting and losing weight rapidly. My vet group ordered an ultrasound which they told me came back normal. When I asked how to fix this problem and get her healthy they threw up their hands and said "all we can do is run the tests over again and see if anything changed." After shelling out over $2000, I wasn't about to do this without a guarantee that I'd get a diagnosis. I was completely beside myself when my sister suggested I talked to Dr. Lindsay and put us in touch with each other. Dr. Lindsay called me at 9:30 at night (clearly on her own time) and patiently talked through the symptomology with me. She spent over 30 minutes asking me questions and listening. She then informed me that vet groups and local animal hospitals can only perform a certain battery of tests and clearly I needed something more. She recommended I make an appointment at a referral hospital for a consultation and force my local animal hospital to give me the referral. This advice saved Sophie's life. Turns out she has high-grade lymphoma that is extremely aggressive. On top of that, she had a bleeding ulcer from all the vomiting she did over the course of 5 months. I have finally been able to seek treatment for my poor little pet! On top of that, had we not diagnosed the lymphoma, she probably would have died already. My local vet hospital (Hoboken) never even told me a referral hospital was an option!!! I will be eternally grateful to this doctor for her true love of animals that she gave advice to me without asking for anything in return. For my future vet needs, I will be taking all my pets on a road trip to Dr. Lindsay for treatment.

I have taken my three dogs to Dr. Blaicher for about two years and was extremely happy with Dr…read more Blaicher and his associate Dr. Zahn, they were truly a pleasure. BUT,what I can no longer tolerate is the terrible communication, and awful customer service from Susan, Dr. Blaicher's wife. Susan normally answers phones and has proven time and time again to be a colossal disappointment and source of frustration. The first time, I was called unexpectedly out of town and needed to get shots for one of my dogs to board. Susan almost refused to make an appt. for my dog because in her opinion, the dog would not have been vaccinated for enough days to satisfy a kennel's intake requirements. I reminded her that she didn't work at the kennel I was planning on boarding my dog, that I had been boarding my dogs at this particular kennel for over 20 years, and suggested that it would be up to the kennel, not her. She finally, begrudgingly gave me an appointment after I told her that I was going to get my dog the required shots to board either there, or somewhere else. The second time was when we had to put down our beloved dog of 14 years. Our dog had cancer for some time and we all knew (including the Blaicher's) that it would be a matter of time until we had to put him down. He was bleeding badly and aspirating blood when we called to see if we could bring him in to be euthanized. Susan answered the phone (again) and said that it was 4pm and they were only open until 5pm... And that Dr. Zahn (who was working that day) couldn't be reached because she was busy with patients. Susan suggested that we go to an Animal Emergency facility. How nice.... She wouldn't even ask the Doctor for us! The third (and last time) just happened. One of our dogs had a cut on her throat which she was constantly scratching and bleeding all over the house. I was concerned that this was a puncture and needed a stitch. I called and left a message at 8pm last night and asked if I could bring her in this morning. I received a call from Susan at 1:30 this afternoon... The office opened at 8am, and she returns my call at 1:30... When I told her that I was disappointed that she took so long to get back to me, she said that they were very busy, and that she had a hard time getting my phone number (even thought I clearly stated my name and number on the message). To think, three dogs under their care... THREE! and this is the kind of service I get? Just awful. They have definitely lost my business.
