Having just returned from Asia, this was truly the last place I thought I'd visit. Given the circumstances, we gave it a go. The shop itself was bright and welcoming.
The menu is extensive and I personally do like the Toronto downtown location. In fact, I even tried a Taipei location and it was excellent. Sadly, Montreal is not getting the best experience.
Service when ordering was polite and gracious. That's where the courtesy ends. How can you make customers wait over 20 minutes for a drink that should take no more than 3 minutes to craft? Oh right... there's a street food festival happening in the Old Port area and that location needs a full restock of drinks. Several coolers were on the floor and a vehicle was parked in the driveway so it was pretty obvious what was going on. I was also there for the afternoon so I know there was a KFT booth.
Let's get our priorities and logistics straight. If you're running two storefronts, organize yourselves to get the product to your customers in a timely fashion. Bbts are now close to $10 and it literally costs less than a dollar to make. Sure, we can consider employees need to be paid, along with organizers of events and rent. A soft opening would've been more prudent or at least a "sorry we're overextending ourselves" discount to excuse the "we're still in training mode" would've been more appropriate to lessen the frustration.
Oh right, the drink was just okay but not worth $8 since it came after 22 minutes after ordering. The flavour was somewhat diluted. I've definitely had better and cannot, in good conscience, recommend nor return. read more
