I placed an online order for pickup. My drink was ready in 3 minutes. Service was very quick, friendly, and accurate. I got the Herbal Jelly Oat Wow. I've never had this drink with Oatmilk. But it's actually pretty good. The brown sugar boba was really fresh and warm. And the amount of sweetness was just perfect. It wasn't overpowering at all. I don't know if we went on an off day but service was terribly slow and end product was not good. We're avid bubble tea drinkers and loyal to kung fu tea and they totally botched our order. We ordered crushed oreo pieces and they were not crushed at all making it impossible to drink- we had to take the entire lid off and crush it ourselves. Additionally, we did a pick up order that we ordered 15 minutes in advance and after I got there, I still had to wait 20 minutes for it to get made. The bubble tea here is decent, and I've had friendly interactions with some of the staff in the past. However, I had a disappointing experience during a recent visit with a lady. There may have been a language barrier, but I still tried to communicate. The drink that i ordered one of the ingredients was apparently out of stock (after i paid) and so she asked me if i wanted something else. i chose another drink and i said can you add custard to it, since adding custard costed more I was willing to pay extra, I even had the change ready but she said that she can't do that cause it was not what my previous drink costed. Unfortunately, she kept talking over me and didn't give me a chance to explain. Came for the strawberry shortcake drink and they said they only have the strawberry milk tea flavor and not the slushy even though I can order it on the app. I asked if I can just get the matcha cap on the milk tea instead and she said I can't and that I can only do it on the slushy which sounds dumb? She said it alters the flavor but then on the app it's an option for any of their drinks to add it and also strawberry matcha hello??? I dont get why they dont allow it when you're paying for it anyways and toppings are basically customizable to your liking to your drinks. If you're looking for a less busy Kungfu location than the usual BuHi or Pleasant hill, then you should visit this location. I gave it 5 stars to the followings: 1. Location: it is a bit out of the way, but if you take in the horrible parking lot of BuHi and the distance of Pleasant hill + the crowd, then this location isn't that inconvenient. 2. Price: Same as the others. 3. Parking: this location is located within a huge shopping center so parking isn't an issue. 4. Service: there is usually only 1 person working but he/she is pretty efficient so the wait time isn't bad, granted that there isn't a crowd or a long line like the others. I like this Kung Fu Tea: Kung Fu Tea Marietta. All Kung Fu Tea locations are not created equal. I've been to some bad ones. Fortunately, the few I've tried in metro Atlanta so far - Buford Highway, Duluth, and Marietta - have been good to great. At the time of writing this review, there are seven Kung Fu Tea stores in the Atlanta area. The original opened on BuHi in December 2013. This location in Marietta/Kennesaw opened in July 2018. You can find it in Town Center Market, a sprawling shopping plaza situated just off I-575 exit 1 (Barrett Parkway), near Town Center at Cobb. Sweet Hut and Walmart are in the same plaza. This is probably the nicest and cleanest Kung Fu Tea I've been in yet. It helps that it's relatively new. The store has a simple and well-designed build-out with seating capacity for about 30 (guesstimate). There's a wooden banquette against the wall and a communal high table near the entrance next to a shelf of board games. This is the first Kung Fu Tea I've seen to offer games. There's no outdoor seating. There's an open kitchen with digital (three displays), white board, and laminated paper menus. During our visit, there were roughly 70 different drinks to choose from, each priced at $3.50-4.00 for most medium-sized drinks (16 ounces) and $4.00-5.00 for most large-sized drinks (24 ounces). Drinks are served cold on ice by default, but some drinks can be served hot. There were about 10 topping options priced at $0.50-0.75 each. The drink selection featured new and seasonal drinks, classic teas, milk teas (made with milk powder), Milk Caps (drinks with a thick layer of milk cream on top), Milk Strike drinks (made with Lactaid; I used to order the Wow Milk at BuHi a lot), yogurt drinks, "punches" (fruit-infused teas), slushes, and espresso-based drinks. Toppings included boba (tapioca), red bean, Oreo, pudding, various jellies, and various flavors of popping boba. This Kung Fu Tea also serves made-to-order snacks such as shrimp, wings, steamed pork dumplings, chicken nuggets, and chicken katsu with rice. Most of the food items were priced affordably in the $4-5 range. We had the Matcha Milk Cap with boba (medium size, $4.50) and the Oolong Milk Tea with boba (medium size, $3.75). Both were delicious. This was my first time trying the Matcha Milk Cap, though not my first time trying a "milk cap" drink in general. I really liked it. The Milk Cap drinks come with a special snap-on lid that can be folded back, allowing you to sip the drink out of the side of the cup; no straw required. If you drink it this way, the sweet and salty flavors of the milk cap hit you right away. It's tasty. An alternative is to mix the milk cap into the drink using a straw. Mixed in, the milk cap makes the drink thicker, creamier, sweeter, and saltier. Mmm... The milk caps are too rich for my fiancee, but I like them. I thought the Matcha Milk Cap here was very good. The oolong milk tea with boba was on point. Oolong milk tea is one we've ordered at the BuHi location countless times. It's a classic. A lot of people don't realize this because it's not on the menu -- along with adjusting the sugar and ice levels in your drink, you can also adjust the milk level. We asked for less milk on the oolong milk tea for stronger tea flavor. It turned out great. Excellent tea flavor with a nice amount of milkiness. If you don't like milk teas because you think they're too milky or the tea flavor is too "watered down" and not strong enough, try ordering a milk tea with less milk. My only gripe with this Kung Fu Tea was the boba (obviously, a key ingredient). It was harder than I would've liked. I like the Kung Fu Tea on BuHi because they, along with Tea Top in Doraville, consistently pump out the best-tasting and best-textured boba of the metro Atlanta bubble tea shops. The boba here was good, but a step below. It's very possible the boba in our drinks simply came from a less-than-stellar batch or a batch that had sat out for a while. We came on a moderately busy Friday night. It wasn't as slammed as I've typically seen the BuHi and Duluth locations, but they were churning out drinks at a regular rate. There were a lot of teenagers, but that was unsurprising given this location is in the suburbs. Diana was our server and she was wonderful. She knows how to make good bubble tea. The shop's Wi-Fi network ID is KFTEAMARIETTA-GUEST and the password is kftmarietta4life. If you go to Kung Fu Tea a lot (any location), use the Kung Fu Tea app to earn free drinks. You get 2 "bubbles" for every $1 you spend. When you reach 168 bubbles ($84), you get a free drink. Also, new app users get their 3rd drink for free. We came here close to closing one night and it wasn't super busy, but there were other customers around. The drinks here were pretty good. I liked the Red Bean Slush with red beans added. The mango and pineapple slushes were also a hit with the kids. One thing I didn't like is how they charge extra for toppings. At Sweet Hut, two toppings are included with your drink order. In addition, the service was extremely slow! We waited about 20 mins for our drinks. Like I mentioned earlier, it wasn't super busy that night. The only good thing was that I played a board game with my kids, so that helped pass the time. But the other people in our party were just waiting and waiting. Am I being unfair to change my rating? Because of COVID-19, many small businesses had to cut costs and compromise. Kung Fu Tea at Chastain Meadows was one of them. It looked like they cut staff. Whenever I made an online order, it was never ready. There was no difference making an online order or going there and ordering in person. It seemed like they didn't bother with online orders. They always waited until you came to pick up the order to start making it. What's the point of ordering online? Even during these hard times, they shouldn't have excuses. Other businesses are able to do online orders. Heck, other Kung Fu Tea locations have no problems. Even other boba tea places in the same Kennesaw area aren't having the same problems with online ordering. You order online, and you can pick it up when you arrive. Why can't they do it? I don't know if it's because they are hurting. Every time I went, they always looked busy. Perhaps they looked busy because they were short staffed? Looking back, slow service was always their weakness. Maybe COVID exacerbated it. Or maybe it turned into an excuse. I wanted to give this place 2 stars, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Kung Fu Tea hails their tea from my peeps in Taiwan...at least its still Taiwan as far as I know even though China wants us to call it Taiwan China...ya okay...not sure if any one wants to get into a land war with China but lets get one thing straight...boba tea is Taiwanese! I think what sets Kung Fu Tea apart from other boba places is #1 their teas are consistently good...whether you show up at 12pm or 11:45pm...I've done both...they taste good and fresh. Worse bubble tea place in the U.S. I've been there few times because of my friend and every time was a disappointment. Not mention that I waited long time to place an order. The bubble tea was tasteless and it took long time to get my orders every time. I ordered slush on my 2nd visit and the slush was tasteless. They use jelly instead of fresh fruit or fruit purée to make slush. It was not well blended. There are lots of small ice cues in my slush and it was very difficult to drink. The fried chicken pieces, however, are the worst ones I have ever seen. The breading was thick and strange so that parts looked translucent. The chicken had absolutely ZERO flavor. Really highly anticipated this place opening cuz I'm a huge fan of all kung fu teas. They just opened so some things were unavailable but they have such a huge option I wasn't too bummed out lol Some things to consider: the teas vary in price depending on sizes and if they're made hot. They also charge per topping. But some teas have some bits of fruits and etc inside already. For example, I got lychee black tea and it had real lychee bits inside already so I didn't need an extra topping. But it depends on the person~ Interior: great interior with roomy space and simple clean design. The front has ample natural lighting and the place smells a little sweet like brown sugar haha Definitely will be back to try the plentiful amount of options! Whoo hoo! So excited that bubble tea is venturing more outside of the perimeter and it's one of my favorite chains! It's located right off the Barret Pkwy exit in a huge shopping center so it's not difficult to find and there's plentyyyy of parking spaces! Stopped by on a Friday night after work around 10pm and surprised to find it empty except for a table of three people. But shortly after I ordered, huge waves of people came in and all the tables were occupied and a line had formed. Ordering was easy, staff is very attentive and knowledgeable of the drinks when asked. There are two sizes available and toppings include herbal jelly, tapioca, and aloe to name a few. You can pick your ice and sweetness level and one thing I really love about this location is the amount of space! The other two locations are super cramped with not much space to wait in line to order or wait for your order to be called. There are plenty of tables and built in outlets underneath for people to use if they're there to study. I also love the high top table by the entrance with a number of games that are available on the wall shelves to play! I love the Kung Fu tea on Buford Highway. When this location opened and I was thrilled. I recommended it to everybody I knew that loved boba. I feel like there's egg on my face. Every time I go there it is a horror show. The customer service is horrible and the drinks are lackluster. I went today and told the clerk to make two of the drinks with less sugar. Both of them tasted like straight syrup. My husband got a drink with normal sugar level and that one literally tasted like the ones I asked for less sugar. It was sugar tea. I love kung fu tea and got so excited when I found out one is opening near where I live! I came here for their soft opening and the place is super clean with good customer service. They have a vast variety of drinks to choose from ranging from milk teas to fruit options. They are also doing a special deal on 4 drinks on their grand opening (08/04) where it is BOGO! If their teas weren't better than Sweet Hut and if there's more Taiwanese tea shop around Kennesaw, I wouldn't waste my time here. Customer service sucks here in Marietta and they have a minimum $5 fee on debit and credit cards. Management obviously don't care either. There's always two people behind the counter, which if students come together all at once, the wait is minimum 15-20 minutes. I had ordered the cocoa cream wow. I wanted it less sweet. I approached them nicely to see if they can adjust it, and they said it already has a standard sweetness level--which they could have lessened the boba because it was doused with brown sugar coating.
