Even tho my bank reflected the same as the app. After her trying to scream over me she offers the next month free as a "courtesy " hahah guess what? Next time at the gym she went up to me by NAME and asked me to update my card. Next thing I know I got charged for the "complementary" month. Which is insane considering there's dog piss and moldy water fountains in the gym. Also the owner has this hilarious attitude, and is super combative and walks like he has a stick up his ass when he see paying guest outside of the gym where they pay $117 for broken water fountains with mold in them

As soon as I walked in they made me feel welcomed. The other students went out of their way to help me learn. This place is by far the best place in this area for BJJ. I highly recommend it.

The Box is located at the Shoppes at Midtown near Angelina's and SugarCane. Atmosphere: This studio is brand new and outfitted with lockers, changing rooms, immaculate bathrooms and a cool indoor boxing ring. There is also a juice bar, The Juice Box, that sells drinks and smoothies for a post workout treat. The actual boxing studio is a separate dark room with black lights, high ceilings, mirrored walls, and 3 rows of punching bags. Everyone gets their own bag and each bag has a sensor that tracks how many punches you get in and your power. You can see you stats at the end of class to gauge performance. Workout: I've tried class with 3 of the instructors (Angie, Mike, Alvin) and they've all been awesome. Music is blasting, and the instructors explain the punches/combos and walk around offering help where needed. Class is 45 minutes divided in into a couple segments: warmup, shadow boxing, actual boxing on the bag, 5 minute abs and a cool down. There is a clock on the wall that times the different sections, and the class FLIES by! The Box offers classes almost every hour on the hour so it's pretty convenient to find a time to come in. Other: Parking can be difficult. Give yourself 10 minutes to find a spot. Wraps are $6 for purchase and can be reused. Gloves are $3 for rental per class.

Give yourself some extra time so you don't miss a single minute of this killer workout. I brought my own wraps and gloves, and would recommend that everyone hits up the "going out of business" sale at Sports Authority to do the same. It's the most economical option if you plan on doing a lot of boxing over time....but I digress. Behind a very clean entrance area and small boxing ring are a wall of lockers. There's a few very clean and modern bathrooms with showers also available, and in general the entire place was immaculate. The class takes place in dark room with rows of bags tied to the ground. There's a few things I love about this setup: 1) you can hardly see yourself which means that nobody else can really see you...aka, no fear of being judged and 2) each bag is equipped with a sensor to keep track of your performance based on the number of punches you land. Being a VERY competitive person, this fueled my fire and motivated me to work even harder in class. I also really liked our teacher, Gab. She made the class super hard but wasn't intimidating or too tough on us. It was just the right amount of encouragement and technical support, and I really enjoyed her class. Overall, this studio, the amenities and teachers give this place an A+. Can't wait to go back!

Seriously?! While I do believe that there is a divine energy that all spiritual practices connect to, there is NO all encompassing magical ancient alignment between Vedic tradition and Mesoamerican timekeeping - WHAT THERE IS is modern Miami marketing that tosses two unrelated cultures into a blender, and slapping on a sparkly label, 'Galactic Signature.' If you're truly tapping into cosmic energy, a high-octane Power Vinyasa flow for the gym body ego is the last type you'd promote. This place is spiritual smoothie that manages to be culturally tone deaf to both India and the Maya simultaneously.....all while overcharging to pretend that doing extra Chaturangas because of a Blue Cosmic Hand is anything other than a workout with a heavy layer of appropriation. It must be nice to have leverage over communities that either cannot or typically do not speak for themselves. I'd LOVE to see you try this with different ethnicities and see if you'd get away with this chopping up. It seems the rock climbing and bungee jumping rattled your brains enough to think spitting out this new age b.s. was spiritual aligned and culturally respectful.

I'm the former and take the Pads and Bags classes and the Boxing classes they offer in the mornings. It's hard work but is super rewarding and a fun way to get in shape. Don't think this is something you need to already be in shape for. They also have more advanced classes as well as classes that are for everyone but more physical. Aside from that they have a kids class that happens on Saturdays and a crew of fighters who sometimes will be taking the classes you're in. Everyone is super nice regardless of their skill level and those with more skill are very helpful either way. Both coaches that run the classes I've been in (Guerby and Ryan) are super patient and amazing at what they do. If you have an injury or limitation of some kind, they'll give you alternatives. But don't think they'll make it easy! This is a workout either way. Place is cleaned after every class top/down and parking there is super convenient. First class is free so trying out is risk free. After that you can sign up to any of their membership offerings or one off classes. (Some of their classes are available via class pass too!)
