The initial stencil was great, however upon taking the dressing off to clean the tattooed area since the redness went down we realized in the lettering there were multiple t's not crossed and the word "tying" was spelled like "trying". We immediately called the shop because the artist was specific about not accepting DM's and the receptionist continually said "the artist doesn't take phone calls" and to schedule through email for a touch up. This person never asked what was wrong or even offered to let me speak with the artist themselves, trying to control the conversation instead. Definitely don't recommend even bothering with this place read more

Got my first tattoo with a friend from Andres this past weekend and it was such a good experience! Found Andres on Instagram and he for sure lived up to the hype. He was so nice and made our first experience so easy and comfortable. Tattoo studio is super cool and definitely super aesthetic and beautiful looking, besides being super clean! This review is a little hard to write given the artist I'm reviewing isn't at the studio anymore. The studio itself is 5 stars. Love the vibes, the other artists seemed great. Unfortunately, I don't see a Yelp page for my specific Artist, so I'll leave her review here-- I was a little disappointed with my artist. I searched for a long time for a fine line artist and wanted to support a female artist, so when I found Tatti I thought it was perfect. The session itself was fine, though the design process felt a bit rushed. She had said she wasn't sure if we would have time for both tattoos I wanted, but then said it would be no problem and it felt like she ended up just rushing through the design. I wish she had told me to just come back for the second one so that we could take a bit more time and not rush, but I didn't think much about it at the time, as I trusted her. It felt like she didn't really listen or ask for much feedback. The cost wasn't given upfront, so the end of the appointment was a little awkward as she explained her listed minimum was significantly more for the placement I got (I would've reconsidered placement had I known that.) But I understood, tipped over 20%, and she said to just shoot her a message for a touch up. After looking a little more and letting my tattoo heal (following her instructions religiously), there was a part of the design that I think didn't look great (and as an artist, I thought she would want the opportunity to fix) so I messaged her and scheduled a touch up. A few days before the appointment, she posted that touch ups are $150, and when I private messaged her, she confirmed that my session, to touch up and fix a design flaw which would've taken maybe 20-30 minutes, would be $150. I've heard of artists charging for touch ups, but never $150 especially for a newer tattoo (it's only been a month.) So it was definitely disappointing, as I'm not prepared to spend $150 more after already paying over $1,000. The tattoos are overall beautiful, but one part of one of them is honestly a little embarrassing and I actively avoid showing it off because of this. All in all, I would definitely go back to Kunce Tattoo and go to a different artist here (Andres was extremely personable/nice and his work is 10/10), but I do wish the shop's policies promoted/required a little more transparency with costs. read more

From start to finish, this studio was amazing. The process of scheduling an appointment was very easy, the studio itself was gorgeous, and all of the employees were so professional and kind. The studio is an open concept but there's still a very strong sense of privacy and professionalism from all artists and clients. Andres specifically was great; he was very patient and consultative throughout the process, and my tattoo turned out exactly how I wanted. I felt like the process was efficient and quick but not rushed at all. I would highly recommend booking with this studio and with Andres! By far the best tattoo experience I've had! read more

I am highly dissatisfied by my tattooing experience with Andres at Kunce Tattoo. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, as well as some degree of artistic freedom, but there were so many things that felt wrong, that I felt compelled to speak up. I am so incredibly frustrated, not only with how the tattoo is turning out, but also my experience with the artist. There are so many things wrong with the tattoo as it stands, and I am very disheartened by this, given how large the tattoo is, as well as its location (it will show with most articles of clothing). I wanted a snake half-sleeve, for reference. But the scales go in the wrong direction halfway down the length of the snake, the scales change size, the lines are inconsistently-sized, bad shading, and overall the linework is very shaky. Some lines aren't even connected. It is not a well-executed tattoo, despite Andres' insistence that this was a project that he could handle. But even beyond these mistakes, dealing with Andres was a frustrating and difficult process - when he made several obvious mistakes, he denied ever making a mistake and gaslighted me, making me feel like I was in the wrong. Even when I caught you red-handed, you always had some excuse - "oh, the shading will make it look better," "there's just stuff going on behind the flower," and "that's just the way snakes are" - and never admitted his mistakes. It would be one thing if he were honest, and willing to work with me to figure something out, but lying to me and making excuses is absolutely unacceptable. I wish he had been more friendly and communicative with me, and more open to discussing changes while the tattoo was still just a sketch, and not inked into my body. Furthermore, asking to make changes to the design while it was in a workable stage (aka not permanent) was very, very difficult. No matter how many times I explained it, it seemed like nothing would get through to him. It took several tries before he understood what I wanted. My partner can confirm the clarity of my instructions, so I have a second opinion on how difficult it was to communicate with him. By the end of the second session, I felt so defeated that it felt easier to give up than try to fight Andres. It truly seems like he has no idea about the limits of his abilities. He continued to insist on being capable of completing a project of this scale, when it became increasingly clear that he was not. I can't believe I've wasted $750 on this project. I came into the studio feeling excited and looking forward to getting a piece I've wanted for ages, but now I am at a loss for what to do. Even though touch-ups are free, I have no desire to come back to this studio, as I feel that he would only make it worse. I would rather have another artist do a cover-up, or have the tattoo lasered off entirely. Even more upsetting was that this was not only a waste of money and emotional effort, but also a waste of time - what was originally estimated by Andres to be a 6-hour project has now become a 14-hour-and-ongoing project, which I think is absolutely ridiculous. I had to cancel plans on the days of both sessions - and one of those days was my birthday, after Andres estimated the session to be only 4 hours long (in reality, 6-7 hours). Finally, there were moments in which he was highly unprofessional. I was very uncomfortable when he asked to drive me home after the first session ran late. A strange man offering to drive a young girl home at night, in an unfamiliar neighborhood... even if he was well-intentioned, this was not professional behavior. I felt unsafe turning him down in that situation, especially given that we were alone in the studio, and did my best to approach things in a light-hearted way to avoid conflict. I think it's ridiculous that this was necessary for me to do. I hope that Andres takes these comments to heart and treats his clients with more respect in the future. read more

Very nice and clean studio. I arrived 5 minutes early and Modestas had not set up his work station so I had to wait 20 minutes. He was drawing up the design and I offered my input as to what I liked and didn't like and he told me I showed have had a better idea of what I wanted to do and stopped designing the tattoo and had his assistant finish the design. He has no social skills as he didn't talk to me for the entire 5 hours I was there. He seemed uninterested in the project and it showed in his average to below average work. I payed the highest price that any artist would ask for and received subpar work. Based off his portfolio I thought I would be getting something like that but I did not. I would not recommend him due to price, lack of professionalism and his work. read more
