At the time of my sons first appointment with Dr. Charron he'd had approximately 9 dilated vision…read moreexams at two clinics by 5 different optometrists over the course of a year and a half. The first (local and trusted optometrist) told me there was no reason he couldn't see, he was making up the answers he was giving and that he must just want glasses. The second clinic was a vision therapy clinic where 4 of their optometrists did exams on my son at various points before, during and after participating in vision therapy. They continued to recommend vision therapy even though there was literally no improvement in my sons vision after 12 weeks of vision therapy and about 12 additional weeks of phototherapy. I took my son to Northwest Vision Development Center because I decided that if he was going to need ongoing therapy I would need to find someone closer to my home. Both myself and my sons pediatrician had trusted that the optometrists he had seen would let us know if they had concerns and since they had not indicated they believed there were any related medical conditions neither of us realized there might be something else going on. During the visit at NWVDC my son was evaluated for vision therapy and then seen for an eye exam by Dr. Charron. After the exam Dr. Charron told me that my son should be seeing better, that he wasn't going to recommend vision therapy because he didn't think it would help and that I needed to find out what was causing my sons vision issue. Fast forward 7 weeks to my sons appointment at Children's Ophthalmology. It turns out he has juvenile onset macular degeneration. Thankfully the length of time it took to get this diagnosis had no additional negative impact on my son, but I give Dr. Charron a huge amount of credit for 1) Not taking advantage of a parent who didn't know any better by recommending additional vision therapy, and 2) For setting me straight by letting me know there was more to this than I realized at the time. Had my son ended up being seen by NWVDC originally I would have saved myself close to $3000 and I would have saved both myself and my son a lot of time and frustration. I can't speak to the vision therapy done in this clinic since my son did not end up being treated; however, I would recommend this clinic to anybody because I saw how thorough they were in evaluating my child. After this experience I trust Dr. Charron 100% to do what is best for his patients. I would recommend Dr. Charron to anybody that asked for my input.

I have been going to Mt. Baker Vision for over a decade. I recently took my daughter to pickup her…read morenew glasses and was helped by a woman I've not seen before. When I noticed her new glasses were bifocals, I informed her there must be a mistake, because all my daughter's lens are single vision. She insisted my daughter has had bifocals for the past 2yrs. I told her no, that's not accurate, back and forth. She turns the laptop towards me and says let me show you. I said I don't need to see inaccurate information and took my daughter current glasses she got 2022 and said this her last glasses and there single vision and laid it down on the desk for her to examine. Instead, this woman all of a sudden raised her voice accused me of yelling at her and that I threw my daughter's glasses at her, right in front of my daughter and others that were in the area. I was taken aback and got angry and then I raised my voice saying "what did you just say? I didn't throw anything at you! Why would you lie and behave so unprofessional in front of other people? I immediately told her, to get someone else. Another person came, she too was insistent claiming my daughter has bifocals and even said she got new bifocal lens last year Not true. She also said her current glasses from 2yrs ago was actually from 2017. Wrong again. Then she says, your right that is from 2yrs ago. I told her to redo her new glasses in single vision and left. I later got a call from office manager and apparently that woman who started this entire situation told the manager I called her a name. That didn't happen either. The manager said she stands by their records. I realized at that moment this office was unwilling to admit or even consider the information in my daughter's records may be wrong and that a mistake was made. Any professional office would of instead said, we'll look into the records and see what's happened, because the records say she had bifocals, but her current and past glasses are all single vision. Nope, they're unwilling to admit they could be wrong. The unprofessional conduct from employees and that awful situation experienced from Mt Baker Vision that day, ended my decades long relationship as customer. What I experienced that day, I will not forget. I left review on their website. It never posted or was deleted.

I didn't even know what it was until I looked it up, and I didn't realize that without it I wouldn't be able to see up close because none of that was explained to me. When I declined "upgrades," I thought that meant things like anti-glare or scratch-resistant coatings -- not something essential for actually seeing clearly. The staff were friendly, but clearer communication about prescriptions for first-time progressive wearers would be very helpful. I hope this feedback improves the experience for future customers. They cancelled on her less then 24 hours before her appointment because they don't take her insurance, which means they didn't bother to confirm her insurance before they accepted the referral. Not to mention she called them a few weeks ago to confirm everything was in the clear before her appointment (she had some insurance difficulties) and they told her she was all good.

My my vision right away was not good so I had to retake the round of drops. The second round improved my vision but I needed to have the bottom tear duct plugged. Best vision that I could have hoped for. The doctor wanted me in for a 6 month follow up which I went to. But, now the bills start rolling in with explanations that we are outside the "global" time of 90 days. When I asked on the pricing up front the response was that it included any follow up treatment and care. I guess that they are as good as their word.
