I came across SlowBlink Cattery while looking for a Maine Coon breeder in the Greater Vancouver…read morearea. After a thorough search and conversations with various breeders, I stumbled upon SlowBlink. Mia, the owner, stood out with her extensive knowledge of cat health and nutrition. She was incredibly kind and patient, taking the time to address my concerns about purchasing a kitten without breeding rights. She offered me several options, and we found one that suited me perfectly. As a new cat owner, I valued Mia's ability to accurately assess the kitten's condition based on my brief description. SlowBlink's expertise and the inclusion of first-month insurance provided me with a strong support system in the initial stages of bringing home my kitten. Thanks to their guidance, I was able to confidently reserve a beautiful kitten. I wholeheartedly recommend SlowBlink to anyone searching for a trustworthy and caring place to find their new feline companion. --T and D's mum.

We had quite an unfortunate incident with Smiles and Cries. We were looking at fostering to adopt…read morea dog with them. Please note my partner and I both have bully breed experience, and have dealt with rescue dogs before. Jewel at first, seemed pretty organized as she got back to me right away. I believe her heart is in the right place in terms of wanting to find the dog a better home so the dog could start rehab. However, she was not thorough and it ended up with us going to the vet the day of the transfer. Jewel told us that the dog, Bella, was quite pent up and she just needed to run around and assured us she should be fine with other dogs. She provided us with a bag off food, leash, muzzles and a harness that did not fit. We did not take the dog into our home, but instead took them both to the park to get acquainted. This is just moments she was just passed on to us. Here, Bella lunged at our dog and ended up puncturing a hole in our dogs cheek. I rushed our dog to the vet while my partner stayed with Bella. We contacted Jewel right away to let her know the situation and just simply replied "Hope your dog feels better!" as if she just caught a cold. She then told us that could not come back for Bella because she was going to a birthday party. She told us we could "take [Bella] back to the animal hospital" if we wanted. We felt Jewel dropped the responsibility on us, just shrugged us off the moment she left us with Bella. We feel that she wanted Bella out of the kennel so bad that she was willing to give her to anyone that would take her. Please understand that Bella is not a bad dog - she was locked up for 12hrs a day and was not socialized properly and her situation was more serious than Jewel lead on to be. Bella is wonderful, incredibly gentle and fast learning. I have gained all this in just 20mins with her. She is definitely not ready to be exposed to other dogs as she needs much more training. We were sad to have to return her because we both did not want to see Bella in her situation. She would be better suited to a family with bully experience and the only dog in the family. Now, we are stuck with our dog going through this trauma and a bill of $1500. I am extremely disappointed of how this entire experience was handled by this rescue.

A third party moved my dog to this rescue as I was unable to stop it due to personal circumstance…read more At first I was told that I would be kept in the loop as to his location and to whom he would be adopted to and forwarded all kinds of info about my dog to the rescue. The group posted lies about the history of my dog even after I told them a very detailed history from birth until his departure. All I ask is to know where he is and some pictures for closure. This rescue has issues with it. I did not agree nor consent to the rescue to adopt out my dog without me knowing to who and where.

Pretty fun place, lots of cute cats. Only issue was when we went it for the purpose of looking for…read morea cat to adopt. We clarified with the lady at the desk that it was for adoption and she said yes. We paid our $16 each and went in. First issue is you are not allowed to pick up or hold any of the cats. I can see why they might have to say that to certain people, but it should be on a case by case basis. Older or bigger people don't really want to sit on the floor and wait for the cats to approach them, especially if it's crowded and the cats are being occupied by too many others. Second thing is the man inside told us all but one of the cats were "already spoken for" and not available for adoption, which seemed silly. Of the one cat they had no information regarding if they were good with other animals or kids. Also, they were mostly kittens, which isn't ideal for everyone looking to adopt. Basically, if you just want to sit on the floor drinking tea and petting cats it's a cute place. If you're seriously looking to adopt a cat you should probably go elsewhere.

What an amazing place! Made for a perfect valentines date…read more The interior design is really well done - the cats have lots of room to roam and relax, with lots of toys, quiet spaces, sunlight, and giant windows with good views of birds outside. There are good spaces for cats to sleep and move away if they don't want attention. The staff came in and even showed everyone some ways to play with the cats that they enjoy (hiding the cat toys under the rug and wiggling it around). They were all very nice. They also have shoe covers they provide to keep the room nice and clean! I was shocked at how cheap both the food/drinks/snacks at the cafe were too! They were absolutely delicious, I had the sesame hot chocolate for the hot chocolate festival. Highly recommend stopping by! I will definitely be coming by again.
