He was extremely kind and funny with his stories about the island. We loved the vibe they had with their music playing throughout our appointment! It was a very modern and clean environment as well. Location is great in Kapaa and surrounded by shops/restaurants so there's plenty to do too if you're waiting for a friend to finish their tattoo. HIGHLY recommend!! read more

Great place! My boyfriend and his Dad had Moon do all of our tattoos, he has a large variety of art.

Moon was fantastic! I communicated with him before we came down for our vacation. My son and I both had small tattoos we wanted as memories. He was able to get us in without any problems. He talked us through sizing and placement. He was quick and detailed with his work for both of us. After my husband saw the work, Moon was even able to get him in the next day for his first tattoo! I cannot say how much I absolutely love my tattoo!!! Justin did such a beautiful and detailed piece of art, completely freestyle drawing. The shading and detail in the flowers is just gorgeous! It came out so much better than the pic I brought. You could tell he's an artist first and not just a tattoo guy. Very conscientious about his work, he is passionate about what he's putting on your body and wants it to be as perfect as you do. Honestly I'm SO GLAD I found him and when I go back to Kauai I will definitely be getting more work by him. Absolutely recommend him - ask for Justin and you will not be disappointed!! read more

What an exceptional shop with exceptional artists! It was an absolute pleasure to meet Moon and Mario and to witness the beautiful soul they put into their art and Kukui Street Tattoo. Moon was great at communicating through the yelp app with us, and when we met him, we knew this was the shop for us. I showed him a sketch we wanted for my husband's tattoo and he worked with me to make it into a completely original work that blended his unique perspective and the heart and motion, strength and fluidity we wanted to portray. The result is a gorgeous tribal shark -- with Maori / Polynesian influences. The whole experience with Moon was wonderful. A favorite memory to treasure! Also, one thing that greatly influenced our decision was the client education they show on their site, as well as in person. They are knowledgeable, incredible artists, and fiercely dedicated to creating original art for each personalized client. And their shop is lovely! -- super clean, with a relaxing peace that permeates and welcomes. Moon, thank you. We are grateful for you. You and Mario have quickly become Ohana to us. You shared more than just business excellence. You shared the heart of who you are. Aloha nui loa... read more

I am a lover of ink. I already have a full sleeve and starting on the other. All of my ink tells a story. I was honored to meet an amazing g artist (Moon) who bent over backwards to help my wife and I out at the end of our vacation in Kaua'I. He was able to incorporate a very meaningful traditional piece into what i already had (as you can see). I cannot wait to go back and get more done. This is truly a family. You are Ohana when you walk through that door. Moon, thank you so much, uso. Much love and Mahalo. read more

While on vacay, my partner decided that a tattoo would be a great souvenir. I researched shops using yelp (personally, I wouldn't go to a shop without a personal recommendation, but...). Based on the great reviews, I called Pedro and was able to get my friend in that same day. We went in, showed him an inspiration photo and he drew something right on the spot. A few little tweaks later, and she was satisfied with the drawing. She immediately felt that Pedro was the right guy. He is confident and very warm...just the kinda guy you want poking needles in you for about 90 minutes. She was super happy with the end result and would recommend the shop and Pedro to anyone looking to get a sweet tat! read more

I went to Kauai on a family trip vacay and was looking into getting a tattoo done. I have always had a love for sea turtles and what they mean to me so after researching a bunch of places on the island and reading a ton of reviews, I really loved the work that Kukui Street had done and chose them. I called to see when I could go in and talk with an artist to figure out pricing and placement and in less than 10 minutes after going in, I had a deposit and a tattoo appointment for my grandma and I. Moon was both of our artists and after my grandma keep going back and forth (the day of the appointment‍), she found something she really liked and Moon was able to draw it up on the spot. He was very professional and always kept us laughing which made me reassure myself everything was going to be okay. The only thing I didn't like was that I left with only one tattoo done Overall, definitely the place to get work done. Prices were amazing, service was fantastic, and just a really awesome experience overall. Definitely traveling back for more work in the future! read more
