This Kushi restaurant is not so easy to find. If you going there by bike of car. It can easily miss it. So pay good attention on the street. The location is ok. Close to the park. So it was really relaxing and quite place. The place itself is quite big. Beside the table inside, there is also a garten, which offered tables as well. I actually got to this place because of I was in the mood for some noodle soups. My ordered was ok. I was expecting something more. The soup itself was really light. the sushi seem quite nice and tasty. But I was already full. Didn't really try them out. Maybe next time I come back just to try them out. The price was alright. Service is quite friendly. The thing is, I have tried some other Japanese restaurant which the food tasted better for me in Berlin. And Kushi isn't really close to me. If I am near by and really hungry for some Japanese kitchen. If you coming for the Ramen restaurant which just near by. For your information, they won't open till 18:00. So make a better schedule for it.

most people who come here make reservations so when i arrived around 5 pm it was empty but every table was already reserved. nevertheless i could stay; if you don't make a reservation, make sure to come here before 7pm. i ordered some sushi rolls (3.50 for 6 salmon maki, 3.00 for cucumber maki, some special rolls for 9.00) and sencha (2.00). the quality and taste was good, not extraordinary, but it's worth coming here for their special rolls. i didn't take take a picture of the menu but they are very creative when it comes to said sushi rolls. The interior of the restaurant is simplistic but also grounded in woody/home-y vibes, which makes it welcoming. Not to be dramatic but I had some of the best sashimi ever here (otoro, chutoro, akami and yellowtail - even though I don't normally like yellowtail). The dishes were carefully assembled and plated, and the servers were very attentive the entire meal. Some dishes stood out more than others, and the ones that were most memorable, I've attached pictures of. I can't remember exactly what was in the dish but the one in the blue bowl included eggplant and changed flavors as I ate it, which was a nice, unexpected surprise. At the end of the meal, the owner chatted with every group to gauge everyone's experiences and feedbacks. Overall, a nice first kaiseki experience.

None the less worth it and a must eat in Berlin.

Takoyaki is a speciality in this restaurant and as simple as that I obviously had to get them. So far these were the best Takoyakis I had in Germany but they are a rare species to begin with. Unfortunately I have one major complaint. The Takoyakis were not fresh and hot. They came out very fast which is surprising considering how long it usually takes to make them. I can only assume they were pre-prepared and finished to order. You could argue that I took pictures but I only needed about 5 minutes for that and all the Takoyakis I had in Japan still burned my mouth even after that time. These here were warm and could be eaten as a whole which I would never do in Japan! SERVICE Lovely service. The staff also explained the different Takoyaki variants on your plate at the table. ATMOSPHERE Small and simple restaurant. I decided to sit at a table outside because I felt it was nothing special. RATING If my Takoyakis were hot and "fresh" it would have taken me back to Japan instantly. I think when you put an item on the front of your menu, you should give it your best even if the customer has to wait. I will gladly wait thirty minutes or longer for hot and fresh Takoyakis. They still get my recommendation!

The menu is nice and easy to cover - about 8 appetizer, 6 udon soups and 6 don dishes which allows you to get a good feel for what they are all about in one sitting. My friend and I shared the japanese omelette and the gyazu as an appetizer which I can both recommend. I chose the Gyu Don which they actually didn't have and what kinda caused me to give 4 stars only. We then actually ordered the sake don and the chicken terriyaki don. Both looked and tasted absolutely fantastic! To complete the experience we chose the "3 out of 8 sake sampler" for 12€ that allows you to trial 3 of the 8 sake they offer in their restaurant. Whenever I am back there is just Onigiri and Udon left to try. Check this place out! Really good...

And this menu had good parts and not so good parts. The amuse-bouche(6 in total) were very nice. Then one dish out of two was very good, the other just medium good. For example, the shabu shabu veal was partially warm and partially still ice cold, so it was obviously not totally dipped into the broth as it should be.
