I learned of KS Woodcraft watching HGTV while I was searching to have six (6) custom tables built (8'x44" solid oak). I had spoken to multiple custom table builders before Ken and all of them informed me that they "were covered up" and would be at least two (2) years to even start. I called Ken figuring he would tell me the same (he was showcased on HGTV after all), but he spoke to me about my project...and he was able to come up with a build time that was six months, from initial invoice to me personally picking my tables up at his shop! Those six tables were built so well, that they survived a building fire five years later that destroyed every other piece of furniture. Ken was able to refurbish the tables (they had to be shortened due to warping, cracking and splitting of the wood from the heat) and you could not tell they had survived a fire. I then ordered another table from Ken four years later (a combo poker/game table with a removable table top). There was a HUGE problem though: the shipper damaged the table extensively when they delivered it...by throwing it off the truck in the middle of a snow storm and failed to notify ANYBODY that it had been delivered (which was SPECIFICALLY in the delivery instructions). The table was left overnight in a massive snow storm with the cover removed, pallet broken and plastice torn and when discovered the next morning sitting in the parking lot, the entire crate was filled with snow, ice, water, and nails/wood splinters from the broken pallet poking/scratching the table. The table was severely damaged. When Ken was notified and sent pictures of the condition it was discovered in (within fifteen minutes of the discovery), he informed me right then that he was building me a complete new replacement table at no charge to "make it right"...even though it was NOT his fault, but the shipper's. That is customer service almost beyond comprehension! I have since ordered four more of the combo card/game tables and will be picking them up in two weeks. I have gotten nothing but massive compliments on all of the tables he has built/repaired for me. I whole heartedly recommend him for any type of custom wood work, as I have seen multiple pieces other than tables (including an INCREDIBLE shelving unit), when I have been there to his shop. Ken is an outstanding craftsman and absolute professional who goes beyond the extra mile. read more

Ken and his team were amazing to work with. The process was simple; we shared an inspiration picture and he brought it to life! Seeing the table in person was much better than I could have ever imagined. Looking forward to having the KS WoodCraft team build additional pieces for our home. Best part - they ship anywhere in the US. 10000% satisfied! read more

We had a poor experience with KS Woodcraft. We're interior designers in Chicago and we ordered a custom table from them for one of our clients. The table had a leg welding at an angle and damage to the top. We have access to a wood shop and KS paid for the refinishing of the top but they would not take responsibility for the angled leg which the client would not accept. Repairing the leg which required disassembling the table, transporting it to a metal shop, having it worked on, getting client approval, then having it shipped back and reassembled cost us about $650. In our work, it's impossible for us to leave a client hanging but KS left us hanging. read more

I am happy to update my review. Ken took care of the issue I had with the finish, including researching what could have caused the issues with the finish. It seemed to be a combination of a bad batch of lacquer and the extreme temperatures in Texas at the time. In any event, he took care of the problem and I am very happy with the final product. Our table is absolutely beautfiul! read more

KS Woodcraft is the most highly skilled and professional team of people you will ever meet. The quality of their furniture is exceptional and is second to none. The owner, Ken, is an experienced artisan as well as a perfectionist who carefully listened to my design ideas and created the most beautiful tables I have ever seen. I chose reclaimed French White Oak, but Ken offers any kind of wood you could ever imagine -- exotic woods, natural edge slabs, etc. (Check out the photos on his website.) Everything they make is handcrafted and custom made. This is the nicest team of people you will ever meet and they all share the same values of producing superior quality custom tables. read more

We bought an expandable walnut trestle table from Ken. I looked for a dining table at Restoration Hardware, Ethan Allen, Pottery Barn and many other furniture stores. I thought the tables they offered were of inferior wood and quality for high prices. Guess they have to pay for those showrooms somehow. Ken has a genuine passion for wood and furniture making. We also found him to be very honest and responsive. All of these traits were very important as we live hundreds of miles from Ken and we did not see his work first hand until our table arrived at our home. We ordered a solid walnut trestle table. Ken chose gorgeous pieces of wood and then tied them together in a way that balances out color variations and showcases the wood's inherent beauty. True artistry. There are pictures of our table on his website but they do not accurately capture the table's true beauty. Finally, the table is heavy - a quality piece that we will hand down to our kids. Best of all, it was reasonably priced. We are very happy with our purchase and I would definitely recommend talking to Ken about your wood furniture needs. read more

All I can say is WOW! My husband and I were looking for a unique, high quality table. We worked with Ken and Rachelle and ordered a box car wood table (wood from retired railway boxcars) with a metal base. The table arrived yesterday and we were completely blown away. It exceeded our expectations. It is so unique and has so much character! Exactly what we were looking for in our home. KS Woodcraft makes quality furniture that will last for years and years. It was a pleasure to work with them! Highly recommended! read more

I was looking for a durable table for my new screened-In porch. I found KS Woodcraft on CraigsList. I like be the fact they have reclaimed wood as an option, and were very willing to work with me as I debated about the best sized table for my space. I'm grateful that they suggested a bench to go with my awesome boxcar table, and only wish that they had suggested two! They delivered on-time, and on-budget. No surprises. Often when you work with craftsmen, you are not dealing with business-people. Happily, KS Woodcraft has both. read more

I was looking for a TV stand to match the nice trunk we'd purchased from West Elm. After looking online quite a bit, all I could find that might work was MDF/Particle board pieces (yuck, that stuff off gasses, no thanks), or spend $1200+ for a solid wood stand that sort of matched that we weren't crazy about. I found Ken on craigslist and was impressed with the images he sent me and those on his website. I also really liked that we was able to look at a photo of the coffee table, offer a few wood types at different price points that would match well, as well as a black metal base like the coffee table. His communication was A+ and I had no doubt he could make the ideal piece for us. He followed the specs exactly, and it just arrived yesterday. It looks great!!! So happy with our purchase and highly recommend this craftsman. By the way, we are in Austin so we had it shipped from outside of Dallas with no issues and not too $$. read more
