Compared wings to a fry !!
    Rose M.

My friends & i drove over 21 miles to this place . When i say GHETTO i mean it . The door was open when we wanted to go inside to sit and eat , the guy tells us drive thru . We go thru the drive thur (no issues ordering) but the wings are soooooo tiny , the prices are friendly but its definitely not worth the drive and the other reviews had to be mistake lol but definitely think twice before traveling to this place . Maybe locals know better but we got Got we wanted water they mention they are out like its 12pm on a Tuesday. Do not pass go and collect this trash

What restaurants in Birmingham that gives you 12 pieces of wings, fries and a drink for a cheaper price? They have more food choices besides chicken wings if you want something different. I ended up getting half lemon pepper and half hot wings with crinkle cut fries and a drink. The wings were good, but didn't too much cared for the fries since some were over cooked. Even though the wings were small, it was plenty of food which I wasn't able to finish so I just ate what was left over the next day.

A wing equivalent to the size of two quarters.

I don't understand why the lines are long at this place every night. The wings are baby wings. There are no meat on their wings. The shrimp fried rice was bland. And there prices have gone up. We used to love this place but we won't be back.

OK, it gets 5 stars, but keep in mind it is a fast food joint, not a nice restaurant. Had a Philly Combo, was great. A Birmingham policeman came in while I was there and paid for his own! I know they can go some places and eat free, so this speaks volumes too. Place seemed clean, not crowded, limited menu. But good food.

Best wings I've ever had. I do not eat oversized wings. Theirs are perfect! Keep doing what you're doing wingmaster. Y'all are my favorite.

I purchased 30 wings and the wings were extremely small. The sauce was good, but definitely not worth the price.

Sometimes the drive thru can be slow but it's well worth it for hot fresh food.

I ordered 10 traditional wings and a side of fried green tomatoes. I requested my wings crispy. They weren't yet again and not only that the wings were absolutely tiny!!! But the fried green tomatoes were excellent!! I really enjoyed them over the wings. The service I received was good just as the time before.

A friend of mine recommended that I go to J Wings in Birmingham. I was a bit skeptical initially…read morebecause coming across a place that has perfected the art of fried wings is rare. I decided to take him up on it because his talk was convincing. I made a pit stop there driving all the way from Washington, D.C. to Mississippi. Thankfully, it wasn't too far off my route. I thought I was going to walk into a restaurant, but it's actually inside a gas station. So definitely do not expect restaurant ambiance nor vibes. There's nowhere to sit to dine. Strictly carry-out. I ordered the hot lemon pepper wings meal since the staff said it's one of their most popular wings flavor. I must say the wings were not impressive to me. Perhaps I came at a bad night, but it was way too salty for my liking. I knew it would be hot, but it wasn't clearing my sinus type of hot. I know lemon pepper wings will be salty but more tangy due to the lemon flavor. It was so salty, I had to stop eating em. The fries, oddly, were under-seasoned. Thankfully, I had my own salt and added it to my fries so they were saved. The drink I ordered, a lemonade & fruit punch mix, was yummy. Would I go here again? Likely not. The wings were not impressive enough to go all the way to Birmingham. Hopefully, they can improve on the salt balance of the lemon pepper wings.

We were seated immediately, and our hostess also served as our waitress. Despite wearing multiple hats, she did a great job making recommendations, and every suggestion she made turned out to be a winner. The atmosphere had plenty of energy thanks to a live DJ, giving brunch a fun vibe. My only complaint was the volume. The music was loud enough that it made conversation at our table difficult. To drink, I ordered the It's a Henny Thang, while my wife chose the Rosa Goddess. Both cocktails were excellent and easily among the highlights of the meal. For brunch, we ordered the SKC Salmon Croquettes, Cajun Catfish & Grits, and SKC Chix & Waffles. The Cajun Catfish & Grits was the clear standout. The catfish was crispy, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the creamy grits. If you're visiting for brunch, this is the dish I'd recommend first. The Salmon Croquettes were also good. While they didn't quite reach the level of the catfish, they really came alive with a splash of Crystal Hot Sauce, which added just the right amount of acidity and heat. The only disappointment was the Chix & Waffles. The waffles were good but not particularly memorable, and the chicken wings didn't have quite the same wow factor we experienced during our previous visit. Overall, Simone's continues to impress with quality food, creative cocktails, and friendly service. While not every dish hit the same high note, the catfish and grits alone are worth the return trip, and the cocktails were outstanding. Recommendation: Order the Cajun Catfish & Grits, don't skip the cocktails, and if you prefer a quieter brunch, be prepared for the DJ to bring plenty of energy.

I decided to dine in and the service was great. Very attentive and followed up a lot to see if I needed anything else. I ordered the Brussel sprouts which had a sweet sauce and topped with bacon. I really enjoyed the spin on the brussel sprouts and the portion was sharable. I also ordered the cajun pasta trio (I believe that's the name) which came with sausage, shrimp and chicken. It was recommended by my waitress. It was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed it although I wish the sauce was a tad bit thicker, it was hard to get my noodles to stay on my fork. I had leftovers from both dishes which I took home. A great experience. I almost forgot the strawberry lemonade... perfect. Should have purchased one to go.

I ordered the chicken Philly with okra combo, he ordered the steak Philly with fries combo. Hold the lettuce on both. He also ordered the sauce on the side for his sandwich. The combos do not come with a drink, so the price is extra for those. I got keekeepooh punch, he ordered 2 grape Faygos. Our food was brought out hot and freshly cooked. The crack okra was delicious and some of the best I've had. My chicken Philly was nicely seasoned and the special sauce complimented the sandwich and didn't take away from it. By the looks of my friend's plate, he enjoyed his food as well because nothing was left, lol. There were several seats available inside to eat at, and the soft music playing on the speakers were a nice touch. I really don't have too many complaints. The only one I can think of is the combo description. Combos usually include the drink. Either increase the price to include the drink, or just advertise the food as the sandwich and choice of side. Other than that, I enjoyed my meal and highly recommend stopping by to try this new restaurant out!

I was greeted immediately with the smile. They were out of the crack okra so I chose to get wings only. The sweet heat garlic pepper wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce had me licking the paper. Piping hot and 10/10 on taste. I will definitely go back to try more things. The wings even impressed my mom and she is a tough critic. The inside is cozy and the music playing nice and low sets it off.
