Let me first start by acknowledging that this review is of the estimate process and subsequent…read morefollow-up as I considered my options. In the end, I pursued another option thanks to a friend's connection that got me a very good deal. I contacted Watergate about some roofing issues at my home that I was aware were quite serious. I had two friends who both gave me a good reference for Watergate. One friend indicated they were they only company he'd dealt with that did not default to recommending a new roof. The other friend shared that they support Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit I also believe in. So, I contacted the company and requested an estimate. They set a date, and their employee arrived on the day and at the time that was scheduled. As I recall, his name was Max. We discussed my concerns. He did a thorough search of my concerns, and indicated he'd be contacting me soon with an estimate. He provided the estimate within the expected time-frame, which ended up being pretty rare among the estimates I did receive. He communicated well. He followed up multiple times. I will note the estimate was the second highest I received, though considerably lower than the highest. However, in their defense I felt like Watergate was really targeting solving all my concerns. They do offer a financing option. One slight customer service quirk of mine - if I e-mail you, I expect an e-mail response. Both times I e-mailed, within five minutes I got a phone call. If I wanted a phone call, I'd call. This is relatively minor, but it did bug me. It didn't bug me enough to drop a star. Overall, I was pleased here. As I noted, I ultimately opted for another choice but I was impressed by the service here. It didn't feel high pressure at all, though there was intentionality. There's a difference. I love that they work in the community. Since I have two friends who also praised them, I have to still give them a thumbs up. While I didn't choose Watergate this time, I was impressed enough that I would still call them again should future work be needed.

Decks By Design created an outstanding finished product…read more They went above and beyond our expectations. We started the job just thinking we would have the deck boards replaced and they also added 3 custom planters for our existing containers, new spindles and railings. We had five companies quote our project and they were the most competitive not to mention having the best website and references. Bruce came equipped with samples of the Trex product we used and helped us through the color selection process. His crew kept things neat and were always helpful when I had questions. I highly recommend these guys for any deck repair or installation work. Mike

I do not like having to give negative reviews and this I believe is my first. I pondered over this…read morefor quite a while not wanting to do so before feeling that not giving our experience would be a disservice to others. We had the unfortunate experience of retaining NorthIndy for a railing project. Initially, I stopped by their store early afternoon to look at some of the product. No one was in, and I waited around the open store for probably 10-15 minutes when someone drove up. He said he was the owner. Very nice initial meeting then the wheels fell off. A lack of communication, many missed installment appts for a 2-man crew who showed up knowing this was second floor and didn't have a ladder. Fortunately, I the homeowner did have one that worked. The installers said they couldn't install part of the railing, so the GC had to install them. We were told there was a mix-up on the order and the wrong railing was ordered. I imagine communication with the GC and NorthIndy was part of the problem. The GC stepped up and installed part of the railing as the NorthIndy crew said they couldn't. Finally, I gave up and just wanted them done and gone. Both the GC and I had to call many, many times to get a call back and answer. I took off work waiting for them on at least 3 occasions only to have to call them and ask where are you? There are plenty of other sources for Westbury products and I'd look for anyone but NorthIndy. I expect a less than responsive reply, without taking any responsibility for their seriously lacking customer service.

We chose Archadeck because Ryan promised clear, prompt communication throughout the process,…read morelistened to what we wanted for our screen porch, and presented a professional case for choosing them. The contruction manager (Whitney) was responsive and easy to work with. The office manager (Lizzie) was super helpful. The building crew (Daniel, Carlos, Eric, Martin, and Axel) were competent, detail-oriented, and friendly. The subs used (roofing, gutters, electrical) did a good job on their work too. If it weren't for waiting for inspections and subs, the room would've been built in less than two weeks! It ended up taking less than a month and we're super pleased with the space. There were a few hiccups along the way--when aren't there?--but they were minor, handled swiftly, and not enough to prevent me from recommending Archadeck to others.
