Hot basil stir fry with shrimp
    Christopher M.

My parents in York took me out to celebrate my birthday and I love spicy Thai food. I ordered the hot basil stir fry with Shrimp and asked for the medium spice level. Somehow the owner found out I had a recent birthday so he decided play an original birthday song during the meal. It was quite the surprise and a nice touch to the customer service. The server/owner was very attentive and genuinely interested in getting to know us and trying to make sure we were ok with our meal. We enjoyed our meal, the entertainment, and service.

Went there with my husband for the first time last night and we were very pleased we had the appitizer sampler, pad thai, drunken noodles, and the friend banana and ice cream dessert. Everything was delicious! Even my husband who is generally not very adventurous with food really enjoyed everything that was served. He also tried the Thai iced tea which he raved about. The inside was very nice as well and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Doesn't look much from the street, an old bank remodeled inside is beautiful. If you are looking for authentic Thai food this is the place to go. Run by a Thai couple food was good. We had a thai curry sampler, and another dish we could not pronounce, finished off with some sticky mango rice.

    Masaman with roti

Found this place on Yelp...Google maps throws you a street too far...but findingvit is WORTH IT. The tom yum shrimp ...just enough spice to make it hard to not drink the broth at the end! The madman with roti is a beautiful hybrid of Thai and Indian. And BEST Thai iced tea in a long time!

Pad See Eaw, Siam Seafood Cashew Nut, and spring roll deliciousness!

This is our first time here and we really enjoyed it. The Thai iced coffee is amazing, and everything we tried was fresh and delicious. The owners are super friendly and attentive. Parking is plentiful and free, which is a plus. Cool decor!! We will definitely be back!

Came here with my family for the first time tonight. What a great surprise - excellent service, very clean and great atmosphere, and the food was awesome. We love spicy Thai and were not disappointed. Every dish was excellent. We had the appetizer sampler, two different Thai salads, a curry, drunken noodles, and the traditional Pad Ka Pow Kai Dow. We could see the owners ( who also do the cooking and host ) take pride in their cooking. Definitely coming back.

Great service, good local Thai food, charming cultural decor, neat location with the bank and with Dallastown being limited in restaurants.

So after all these years I finally came back to Carlisle just so I could have that dish again. The ramen with the savory meat, the crisp veggies, the creamy avocado, and crunchy peanuts make for a perfect bowl of ramen! Plus, their milk teas are also great! The staff here is friendly and the restaurant itself is set up nice! I love Issei Noodle, and I hope I don't have to wait another 8 years to go back!

Total came out to approximately $43 (not including tip). What's hot - Menu. Pretty good. There's something for everyone, possibly even vegans. I'm uncertain whether they have vegetable broth, but they have options that are vegetarian. There's pho, ramen, rice, curry, meats, and tofu. - Quality. Pretty good. The chicken karage was not overly breaded, crispy, had a nice flavor. Lt was not overly salty and served warm. My tofu miso ramen was not overly seasoned, which I appreciate. One of my pet peeves is when noodle soups are too salty, because it detracts from what the natural flavor should be. My miso ramen had a nice seasoning. My husband really enjoyed his red curry. He said it had a slight kick of spiciness with a slight taste of sweetness from the coconut milk. - Portions. Pretty decent size portions to get you full, not stuffed. Good value for money. - Location. Centrally located in downtown around other shops and restaurants. What's not - Service. Among the 4 in our group, 3 of us had something wrong with our orders. My ramen arrived with no tofu. When our friends received their orders, it was completely wrong (I.e., they were given someone else's order). There were also mistakes in the dishes they actually ordered. Given all the errors, everything was delayed and took longer, which was frustrating. - Payment. You're expected to pay your tab before actual service, which includes tips, as well. Hubby and I aren't fans of that, especially given all the mistakes that our group encountered. - Parking. Since it's downtown, it's mostly timed and metered parking in the area. - Time. They close at 8pm. Our group was the last ones in the restaurant, which surprised us. As such, I asked their staff what time they close. When they responded 8pm, I asked them if our group should leave. The staffers told me that my group was ok, which we appreciated. However, we didn't stick around. Just be prepared that this is not a place you can continue to hang out in. Final answer Willing to return, but not a first choice.

The restaurant is small with some communal tables. Parking in downtown Carlisle can be challenging. Be sure to check the hours.

I could have that comforting ramen dish every single week, it's THAT good. The beef chunks were also very tender and not at all dry. Noodle Shack is located in a shopping center so there is ample parking available. During my first visit, I had the pleasure to try takoyaki for the first time. These soft, pillowy octopus fritters garnished with sauce and bonito flakes that danced as they reacted to the heat we're as exciting to try as they were delicious. Upon entry today I was quickly seated and was one of two occupied tables in the dining room. The waiter came over and took my order of Zhanjiangmian. My previewed the menu online beforehand so I already knew what I was going to order. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, clean and cozy. Not long after I place my order I got my food. Zhanjiang is a fermented soybean paste and to make the dish pork and mushrooms are added to make the sauce. To my delight, I was welcomed with a warm and savory noodle dish packed with umami that just seemed perfect for this cold weather. The dish itself does not come spicy so I requested a side of chili oil which I used had some heat and this just amplified how tasty this dish was. I was pleased with my order and would definitely eat this dish again. My only complaint about today's experience, which is a pet peeve of mine, is when the server places the check on the table before I am finished eating. Fortunately, most establishments don't follow this protocol. And although it is my only complaint I do not feel this would prevent me from going back try more of their menu.
