My 3 friends and I had lunch here about a month ago. The husband of the owner waited on us, and from his counter talked extensively. We ordered according to his recommendations, but portions were long on rice noodles and short on ingredients. The noodles with shrimp had FOUR medium shrimp. My parents in York took me out to celebrate my birthday and I love spicy Thai food. I ordered the hot basil stir fry with Shrimp and asked for the medium spice level. Somehow the owner found out I had a recent birthday so he decided play an original birthday song during the meal. It was quite the surprise and a nice touch to the customer service. Man I really love this place. I've been coming in for several years and now that I'm back living in the area they're gonna start seeing me there more. The owner who is also the chef is great, she always remembers me and goes light on the soy just for my dishes for my allergy issues. Her husband is the man, very good guy who I always have a good conversation with while I wait for my food to be made. I tend walk in on him playing his guitar, very cool guy. I liked that although it's probably been a year or two since I've been there, he said before I left yesterday "it was good seeing you again" I was shocked how good his memory is. I type too much. Anyway, from the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside is beautiful, but unfortunately mostly empty (I mostly just get takeout and I think so do most people). The food is fantastic and I never had a bad meal here. I branched out of my go-to drunken noodles and got the hot basil stir fry with scallops as my protein. Probably one of the best Thai dishes I've ever had. My fiancee got her go-to Pad Thai, and as usual she loved it, and despite the large portion it was so good she ate it all in one sitting. For me, I have a good lunch to look forward to, mixing the free white rice we were given with the rest of my meal. The atmosphere is crummy BECAUSE the kids there (relatives of the owners, presumably) are ridiculously loud and watching tv/playibg video games loudly and cursing up a storm - all in a neighboring room that clearly used to be a vault so the architectural layout functions like a megaphone. The food was ok as was the service, but it was so loud (and vulgar) it ruined the experience. I can imagine taking my family there again, much less trying to have any romantic experience there. I feel for the waitress as I can only this has to kill her shot at getting tips. The food wasn't tasty enough to warrant getting takeout there next time - the experience was awful enough that iMll just presumable never go back there again. Went there with my husband for the first time last night and we were very pleased we had the appitizer sampler, pad thai, drunken noodles, and the friend banana and ice cream dessert. Everything was delicious! Even my husband who is generally not very adventurous with food really enjoyed everything that was served. He also tried the Thai iced tea which he raved about. I had lunch with my daughter. The restaurant is located in an old bank in the center of Dallastown. The owner is frequently serving during lunch. We were greeted promptly and started with the spring rolls. For lunch I had the shrimp fried rice and my daughter had the spicy shrimp fried rice. The food was served promptly and was delicious. We stopped by on our way back to New York. We were really hungry and so many places were closed. Thankfully we called ahead and the owners said they were open. The decors is simple and tastefully decorated. You can tell they put a lot of love in to their space. I would encourage the owners to fix their store front so it is easier to find. From the outside it looked and felt like we were about to walk in to an office and not a restaurant. The food was good and fresh. I had their chicken pad Thai. The flavors were nicely balanced. We had the Appetizer Sampler and the Drunken Noodles with Chicken. The Sampler came with Gyoza Dumplings, which I have never tried before, they were excellent. All items included within the Sampler were fresh and delicious, Satay chicken was very moist. All three sauces were super. The Drunken Noodles were so good, best I've had in a long time. Definitely 5 stars for now & hopefully they keep it up and maintain the quality over time. We stopped in for lunch and it was mildly busy at the time but we were seated right away. I was somewhat skeptical at first about this place after moving to the area from a larger city to the east, but the flavor and freshness of product here was even or better to numerous restaurants I've tried before. Started with the Tom Yum soup and Spring Rolls...the rolls were good, about what you'd expect but the soup however was tremendous. The flavor and authenticity really make this dish and I would order it every time I go back. For lunch...I had the Drunken Noodles w/ Shrimp ordered as hot as they could make it. The heat was a bit down from what I was used to, but again the flavor of the meal was spot on. My GF had the See-Ew w/ chicken and that was delicious as well. All in all it's definitely a welcome addition to the area as there really isn't much around here except pizza joints, some family restaurants, and fast food. I was only in York for a hour meeting, and found myself starving when it was over. I quickly google'd for takeout in the area, and was so lucky to have been offered this gem. I went into the restaurant/old bank and met the owner's husband Tom, who was very friendly and welcoming. Being vegan, he steered me to the best choices on the menu, and put in my order quickly. While I waited, we talked about life and had a fantastic conversation. It was clear that I was about to get some authentic thai cuisine from a small business built on family values. His son came out and showed me his light saber, and the vegetable pad thai was excellent. Alright, here's the deal. Food was great, I'd eat it again but I'd order it for take out next time. The owner(I'm assuming) is the guy taking the orders. He looks like he's looking for something to do, generally confused about everything going on and awkward. He was holding conversations with patrons as they were eating their food. Now he might have known them I don't know. As he was taking an order his phone rang and he walked away to take the call, come on. Now they had someone running the food and refilling drinks, she was alright. To be honest if she was the one taking the orders and doing front of house I would of given it 5 stars. Just my opinion though. They don't have fountain drinks which is upsetting considered they're giving glasses of ice and 12 ounce canned sodas for drinks. Worst part of that situation? They're 2 dollars each! We had a total of three cans of soda and it was 6 bucks, I could've purchased a case. The Stop Light was a great idea to sample three different and delicious curries - red, yellow, and green. Our friend had the Siam Seafood Cashew which she said tasted as good as the presentation looked. The young men were attentive, professional, and helpful. We got take out, so I my review is based solely on the food which was out of this world! My family of 5 shared a few dishes family style... We got 1. Pad Thai (of course!) 2. Drunken noodles with beef, 3. Masaman curry, and 4. spring rolls. Everything was clearly cooked with authentic style (which is what we had heard from many people) and was hot and delicious. With it being authentic and not Americanized I was concerned how my kids (4,6,12) would like it but they all enjoyed it! The curry was my favorite dish we got! Recently I bought some coupons from www.LocalFlavor.com as I had never been to this restaurant before. I went there on March 18, 2016 for a mid-afternoon lunch and the food was amazing. Definitely was a very Positive experience and I would return with or without a coupon. THE NEGATIVE - The only negative thing I have to say is about the electric hand dryer in the bathrooms, it's worthless. When you finally find the spot to activate the electric-eye, the dryer only stays on for a second or two after which it goes off and then you got to fight to find the electric-eye again, only for it work for another second or two all of which is worthless as the dryer does not provide any hot air. What air does come out which is very little in force does nothing to dry your hands. Finally used some toilet paper to somewhat dry my hands. My wife had the same experience in the women's restroom too. THE POSITIVES - The food is just amazing in taste, quality and quantity was much more than I expected. I had the Drunken Noodle Steak $16.95 which was suburb in every way imaginable! I believe the steak was N.Y. Strip cooked to medium-rare although a little of it was bordering on the rare side but the steak was pretty large and thick, juicy with great flavor. The Drunken Noodles which I never had was outstanding with scrambled egg (I think) and, some vegetables mixed throughout in a dark sauce which I thoroughly enjoyed from the first bite to the last. I will definitely order this one again, excellent! My wife had the Pad See-Ew with Shrimp $10.95 which she really enjoyed. It was basically a noodle dish with mixed vegetables in a sauce with about four medium sized shrimp. The dish had a different taste than my meal but was good. She did prefer the taste of the sauce on the Drunken Noodle Steak and I agree with her. I tried a little of her dish and the Drunken Noodle Steak sauce was much better tasting. Objectively the taste of sauces will vary from person to person. The Pad See-Ew sauce was good, just not great as with the Drunken Noodle Steak sauce. We had the Thai Summer Rolls with Shrimp $8.45 as an appetizer which neither of us ever had; they were pretty good. The two rolls were about 8-inch in length and cut in half, they consisted of some type of thin almost clear sticky wrapper encased with lettuce and the like served with another dark sauce. The wrap was really fresh, and very tasty; probably the most health thing I ate had I not put the sauce on it; again the sauce was really good. If I understood the waitress correctly, all of the sauces are home-made and from the taste, I believe her, it's not store bought! My wife and I shared all the food to have a little-bit of everything. Both main courses cane out hot and looked very appetizing to the eye right away. Great food; all-in-all it was a very enjoyable experience and you cannot beat the prices for the quality and amount of food you get. The restaurant was clean and spacious for its size. Horrible experience. Be prepared to be continually bombarded by the 'owner's husband' who won't shut up, he'll literally chew your ear off and doesn't get the hint you're not there to see him. Tried the place twice and the guy bothers you or any breathing person who enters. It also seems they get very over loaded by more than one order and your food will take 10 years to be served and you'll want to kill yourself before it arrives after being subjected to this guy's blathering. Bring a flashlight if you arrive after sunset as there's no lighting in the parking lot. The exterior of the place is dull and the "specials" board hasn't changed, ever. Food is mediocre at best, place is a ghost town, save your money and go elsewhere. Food is very over priced, I have no idea how this business is still open. read more
