    Churru roll (small but good)

Stopped by to check out Burlington after visiting MerryMac Farm Sanctuary (and our dear Savanny). We all enjoyed our treats and drinks on this lively Church St. coffee spot.

The Kru customer make up of both flat landers in search of a spot to do their college assignments and the classic Burlington millennial speaks to their ability to successfully reach multiple audiences. With the leaves beginning to fall, I felt called to order an autumnal baked good: a maple-glazed apple cider donut. The maple frosting sharply cut through the cake donut, adding an evenly distributed Vermont-flare to each bite. The donut was clearly made this morning with care and precision, icing still soft and the donut still fluffy. The head baker at Kru certainly knows their profession well. The iced coffee was delicious, with the vanilla syrup blending smoothly alongside the coffee. The texture is delightfully silky. I was energized after drinking half of the large size.

I love Kru coffee! We came on a Sunday morning in the summer around 9 am and there was no line. The cutest, most comfortable spot to get caffeinated, chill, get some work done, meet up with friends, etc. They hit all the stops from their superb ambiance to just having great coffee and food. I love how big the space is. They have tons of seating-couches, booths, tables, and more. Awesome decor. Great vibes. Nice music. They make their baked goods in house, the scone I got was delicious. Just how a scone should taste-crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. My dad really liked the breakfast sandwich he got, he said the ingredients tasted really high quality and that the nitro cold brew was the best he'd ever had. Employees were very friendly. Overall, top tier coffee shop!

Best coffee shop I've tried in VT! Lots of places to sit, eclectic menu, and everything was amazing. We tried a matcha latte and the special latte called sage against the machine with sage, brown sugar, and orange. If I lived nearby I would be a regular.

Whether you want a good cuppa Joe while walking shopping in downtown Burlington, or a cool little spot to hang, read or study--Kru serves all those purposes. Loved the vibe of the shop, the beans were perfectly roasted and full of flavor, and I had my selection of outdoor / indoor seating. Super friendly baristas from ordering to pickup. Probably one of the bigger coffee shops right off the main strip. I would definitely recommend.

Can't say enough good things honestly. Every new city I visit, I find the local coffee shop. Kru has a great vibe, cool merch, nice staff, a great location, and the muffin that I had (raspberry chocolate chip) may be one of the best I have EVER had. I would highly recommend this place.

Delicious mocha latte and BLT breakfast sandwich. Spicy sauce, egg, avocado, bacon, lettuce and tomato. This sandwich was absolutely amazing. Nice coffee shop. Good location. Very busy.

Stopped here on our last day after struggling to decide where to grab a coffee due to many places being closed for Labor Day. We were very pleased with the choice, as the coffee was VERY good. The wait was a tad longer than I would have liked, but not unreasonable. The overall place was very clean and fresh looking, with a fun layout and numerous seating options to both relax or get some work done. The overall vibe of the place was interesting - my initial reaction was that it seemed like they combined the Apple Store and Abercrombie, but then decided to make it a coffee place. The music lightened up a bit a moment later, but the image stayed stuck in my head regardless. I'm still not sure if that's good or bad, but it seemed like a good place where you could somehow both relax and be productive.

Plus, the gentleman running the restaurant is very kind and makes the sandwiches by himself. It is cash only! It has very eccentric decorations haha, but it's fun to look at. I waited 20-30 minutes for my three sandwiches and that felt like a reasonable wait time for how it's a one man show. Definitely would recommend!

We were told it'd be ~20 minutes wait but we read the reviews and knew it could possibly take a little longer (it took ~45 minutes). We saw several parties come in and he actually had to turn some away, I'm assuming because it's only him working. For my Vermont Turkey sandwich, I asked for no mustard since I don't really like mustard but he told me that it's part of the secret recipe so I requested for light mustard. To my surprise, the mustard was really good and complemented the sandwich! Everything about the sandwich was perfect: the bread, the cuts of meat, the veggies. The sandwiches here are definitely a work of art and made the trip to Vermont very memorable!

I had great expectations because of reviews and I hate to leave a negative review on popular places. The cashier/server was friendly, and the place has a classic small American café vibe, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food really missed the mark for me. The "crispy cheese" just tasted burnt rather than crispy, and there were way too many greens--cilantro and parsley--which completely overpowered the sandwich. I also didn't care for the sauces at all. Overall, it wasn't a good sandwich. I didn't even finish it and ended up going somewhere else to eat. Between the long wait and the disappointing food, I don't think I'd come back.

The menu is a little chaotic and hard to read, but I did my research beforehand and knew I probably wanted the brakefast sandwich. Luckily Nate ordered the special number 8 and my friend got the basterd bing, so we all kind of shared. Everything is vegetarian! The employee taking our order was super friendly and kind, very much appreciated! We also got some coffee drinks and a donut to share. The donuts are made with biscuit dough, which was interesting and tasty. The texture is quite dense but not dry. Our food was ready quickly and the portions were large - you could definitely share something if you're not super hungry. I need to take a moment to talk about the number 8 sandwich. It BLEW MY MIND in the greatest way ever. I LOVE when I eat foods I've never had, even more so when those foods are delicious and mind-boggling. This is a breakfast sandwich on a tasty sesame bun and it features chicken fried egg. So imagine a pile of scrambled eggs that they somehow deep fry(???) and it turns into something that so closely resembles fried chicken it's wild. Seriously I'm still thinking about this sandwich. I know it sounds so weird but really you just have to try it. The brakefast sandwich was good, but VERY MESSY. Plan for lots of napkins. I will be back for the number 8.

First thing to know: this place is a sandwich shop by day, cocktail lounge by night. Second thing to know: make sure you REALLY love meat. The deli: I honestly don't know what to say...but I will anyway! First off, they offer about 12 regular sandwiches, half of them hot and half of them cold. They also have specials and make your owns. Keep in mind that all sandwiches can be hot (or cold I'm guessing!). One thing is that most sandwiches have minimal veg ingredients but it's definitely worth it. Staff-wise, all the guys (and yes they were all men when I visited) were really nice and helpful. Definitely ask their thoughts if you can't decide!! On my visit, I ordered their spin on a Cuban and...daaang! The sandwich weighed AT LEAST 2 lbs!!! What's more, it was mostly meat! This is the first sandwich that I have enjoyed an appropriate bread to meat ratio. I mean this thing was severely pregnant with meat! Whew! Honestly, I probably could have saved half of it for lunch but it was so good that I ate all of it. In a separate visit, the cocktail lounge was very posh in an old school speakeasy jazz club type of way. All of the menus are glued to actual books (is that legal??) and they have a great cocktail list. Their chocolate cake is excellent as well! The room is divided into a music room and the bar area. You can still see the music but it was nice to be divided if you wanted to talk vs listen to music. Overall: the sandwich will hold you over for a week (or at least the day!) and the cocktails are great!
