This was probably the dirtiest grocery store I have ever been in. Don't get me wrong, I lover Kroger but this particular store was terrible. Unstocked shelves, literally filthy floors, scuff marks...I mean it was that bad. When I was a teenager, I worked at a Safeway. That store had monthly inspections by the district manager and it was his job to ensure each store under his control was top notch. I was at Kroger just a little while ago and wanted to get a 8 pice of fried chicken I had seen that it came out fresh from the fryer . The lady told me no I had to get it from the table on the floor . She refused to fix me a 8 piece that had just came up. Who knows how long the other chicken had been packaged and placed out under the heat lights. They don't put a time on the package anymore. So I just left my cart of groceries and went to Walmart and to get groceries and stopped at KFC to get my chicken. read more

I visit this location as it is in my sister's neighborhood. The cashiers I've encountered are nice. I plan meals based on the meats they have on clearance it has stretched my budget which I really appreciate. I just have to be flexible and creative. The shelves are usually well stocked with items I need. I remember my dad always shopped at Kroger's in Dayton 60 years ago. Don't know why I mentioned that other than it was a pleasant memory. read more

Soooo disappointed with Kroger. I ordered groceries on line and set up a pick up time between 6 and 7 tonight. I got there at 6:45 and was told that it would be another 40 minutes. Keep in mind that I had received email and text to confirm my pick up time( which I had ordered earlier this morning) and they had already debited money from my account. When I asked for the store manager, they sent another employee out to me, who wasn't the store manager, (she actually had her name tag covered up) and all I was told was that they didn't know what was going on. When I offered to take my business to Wal-mart....they actually encouraged me to do so. What?? I guess I'm shopping at Wal mart from now on. I had actually planned my day around this grocery pickup. read more

We lived in this neighborhood for 35 years and shopped at this location from the time it first opened. We moved away 5 years ago and live closer to other "Kroger" stores, but still prefer this one. Are they perfect? No, but no one is. The employees have always been very courteous and professional. It was confusing during the recent remodel but that happens. I have never really experienced a rude employee. Rude customers, yes, but not rude employees. read more

I am a frequent shopper at this particular Kroger. I've never had a problem with any of the employees, they have always greeted me and treated me with respect. Now on this particular day 10 February 2021 I had an incident that happened and let's just say that the cops were called. Around 1130 am I was accused of shoplifting. I showed the manager Kellie both of my receipts so she could inventory my items. While she was doing this I was on the phone talking to a friend and we found this incident to be hilarious because I have never had this happen to me before. So while me and my friend are on the phone laughing Kellie gets frustrated and starts to slam my groceries into my cart. I let Kellie know that she doesn't need to slam my groceries and she tells me that I don't have to be disrespectful. I let her know that I was not being disrespectful and that she was mad that she thought I was shoplifting and I was NOT! she then tells me to "get the hell out of her store" so yes I had some choice words for her and the cashier Kellie who walked up to me and started to add her 2 cents. I was then told that I needed to act like an adult. I then let it be known that I was a combat veteran who has a federal job with a security clearance, and I have no need to steal $10 worth of groceries when I just spent $140 not even 20 minutes ago in the same store. At this point I have 2 women and a security guard closing in on me. I admit I lost my bearing and then I proceeded to walk out of the store with the security guard behind me. He apologizes to me and I tell him that all of this could've been avoided if the manager approached me different. As I'm walking to my car I see the Deputy Sheriff pulling into the parking lot. He ( Deputy Sheriff Jordan Bean) pulls up next to me. We have a conversation he apologizes to me and says that all of this could've been handled differently. He thanks me for my service and gives me a handshake. Then proceeds to go into the store. I drive home and I call Kroger's corporate office. Once again I am offered an apology and told once again that this whole situation could've been handled differently. read more

I'd give no stars if possible. This location is ok with their employees discriminating against customers. Then would rather you get an attorney and sue them, rather than doing the right thing and settling it without attorneys. Last month I went to Kroger and grabbed a few things and went to checkout. The cashier was an older lady that I've never really spoken too even though I'm in this location often. When she was done I pulled out my card. When she noticed it was an EBT card, she looked at me and said "It must be nice. I wish I could get food stamps but I HAVE a job and I have to work." She said it very rudely and very matter-of-factly. I didn't say anything and left. A few days later I was back, this time with my son and found myself in her line again. She stepped it up this time when she scanned a Christmas mug with hot chocolate in it. She assumed I was buying the mug with EBT but it was being bought with cash. She said "Aren't you ashamed to let your kids grow up thinking it's ok to be on food stamps?" I was seeing red. I told her I have a very painful autoimmune disease that is preventing me from working, seizures, the let side of my body is numb, I just had a mini stroke and my ex fiance played a hand in shooting me and I'm trying to heal not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. I ended up putting a few items back including the mug because she had shamed me. The first person I spoke to when I tried to report it told me that Kathy (the cashier), has had quite a few complaints against her for saying things like that. Another manager was supposed to call me and never did BUT told her boss that did speak to me. Why lie? Not ONE person has called me to deal with this while I keep reaching out. This isn't fair that your employee did this to me not once but twice and shamed me into putting items back. The one manager I did speak to said she wouldn't blame me if I decided to sue for discrimination and emotional damage and I think that's what I'm going to do. It's not right for you guys to treat a customer this way. Then tell her to deal with it and settle it through an attorney. What's wrong with your employees and how you treat people, Kroger? read more

I do not know why this location does not have better ratings. We go to this location over the limestone and bechtle locations because we have been to all Springfield locations and this one is better. We have never ran into a rude worker here and we always save tons of money. We never wait long and their self checkout lanes are alwaye working. Best location in Springfield! read more

Was in this location today with my two children. My youngest daughter has a disability, Bill the guy cleaning floors glares at my daughter with his hands on his hips, shaking his head at her and as he walks away he put his hands to his head doing "crazy" hand gesture. Granted I know that children with my daughters disability are a lot to handle for most people but never is it acceptable for a grown man to act that way towards a child. Yesterday my hubby and I went to Kroger to shop for Memorial Day celebration. We went to a check out with a live cashier. The cashier rang our things and a manager by the name Deborah walked up with a joke for the cashier that wasn't really paying her any attention. The manager and cashier begin talking while the manage bags dour groceries. Once she finished with her chat with the cashier she just walked off and the rest of our groceries just sitting there without a bag. Not to mention we spent like 250$ so we had plenty of things that needed bagged. Like Wow!! She's a manager and this is how you treat your customers. Do better Deborah... Do Better!!! read more
