This has to be the worst grocery chain in Savannah, Ga., and the Mall Blvd. location is the worst. There was a time when this store had impeccable customer service, but it appears those days are long gone. Today the cashier ignored me while she complained about her job to a fellow cashier. When I left there was not even so much as a "thank you" and this would not be the first time. I have to say the only reason I have continued to shop at Kroger is for the gas discount. read more

This has to be the biggest Kroger I've ever been in my life. They sell clothes! The seafood had a lot to be desired. It tasted like it had been washed in bleach. I don't think I'll ever buy seafood from there again. read more

It's getting worse. Saturday afternoon. A lot of un-filled shelves--cream, fruit juice, cottage cheese, eggs. On checkout, not one single line had an employee of Kroger bagging groceries. EVERY line had customers bagging groceries. I asked a manager, one of the four circulating around checkout, why no one was helping customers bag groceries. She said, "We're trying to put out some bottled water." She was right--three managers and one stock person putting out a single palette of bottled water. There was no hurricane bearing down on the coast, so I do not know the urgency on the bottled water. read more

I shop here mostly everyday of the week! Many different items to choose from I've had a few run ins with some of the cashiers ( need to improve on better customer service) but other than that it's a great place to shop! read more

I live near this Kroger, so I was pleased to find it was one of the "fancy" Krogers - good produce that lasts more than a day, a surprisingly well-stocked Kosher section, and a nice cheese/deli section, etc., all without the higher price point of Publix. The jewelry store is a new one to me, but I'm often cruising their book section, so who am I to judge? I do find it strange that a grocery store directly across from a large mall would even bother to sell clothes, but perhaps the late-night shopping hours give it that needed edge. If you should find yourself out at 1 AM, hungry and desperate for new pants, sapphires, and maybe a crock pot, this Kroger has you covered. Their grocery pickup service, Clicklist, has become a staple of my routine. For about four dollars, you can have all of your groceries bagged and ready for you, provided you arrive within the given time window. (Even if you run late, the time slots are flexible and the employees are still very friendly, but the pickup service does shut down much earlier than the store itself. Keep that in mind.) My only complaint there is that for a store which has pretty much everything, the online ordering system doesn't actually include everything in stock. Clicklist is geared towards groceries, but even within that realm, you may find that something available in-store does not show up on the website. While sometimes irritating, it's understandable, as keeping an ever-changing stock list updated in two different places can't be easy. Especially since the Clicklist folks so often appear to be the same small team of people - I'd imagine they're overworked as it is, but they're always giving it their all and offering upbeat customer service. The store also has regular sale items or coupons - both online and on paper - on top of its already reasonable prices. I joke about the clothing department, but it seems to always have something on sale or clearance. I've found more than one gem there. The store is plagued by a few minor downfalls - the sheer size can make finding items on the shelves challenging, and the checkout lines can get remarkably long around weather emergencies and holidays. Peak hours can involve a bit of a bottleneck as well. I also encountered a very specific issue with this store. Despite having an above-average Kosher food section (it even has a freezer!), and acknowledging Jewish holidays on their site more than most other Georgia stores combined, the staff at times can be weirdly clueless about the very same subject. During Chanukah, a holiday that has maybe three entire foods associated with it, the bakery did nothing to supply the increased demand for sufganiyot/jelly donuts. They sell jelly donuts, but more than once I went to pick some up to find that they were either totally out, or had already pulled any remaining pastries to throw into mixed day-old assortments. I found myself met with blank looks as the bakers tried to help, but it was obvious nobody had bothered to tell the bakery that demand for jelly donuts jumps during Chanukah. Now, it's certainly not the end of the world, but if a store is going to go out of its way to draw in Jewish customers, they probably ought to brief their staff on what seasonal items those customers may buy. Imagine if you showed up for Valentine's day shopping and they hadn't bothered to stock any cards or chocolate, saying you could come back in a few months to buy Easter candy. It's just weird. However, on other occasions I've been met with exceptional bakery service. I once ordered a custom cake with some allergy restrictions in mind. A concerned baker called me back to say she'd discovered that a specific frosting color was made using the ingredients I needed to avoid, and helped me find an alternative over the phone. Her diligence, and the team's willingness to double-check each other's orders, saved me from poisoning one of my friends. So that's good. Overall, this Kroger sets out to be a lot of things, falls short at some of them, but still offers a degree of selection and service that is tough to beat. read more

This is probably the best Krogers i have ever visited ANYWHERE. Not only do they have all the typical things you want a supermarket to have but there is SO much more to this store. They have an outstanding kitchen wears department full of well priced and attractive ceramics,linens and appliances that are also well displayed to add interest to the department. In fact this whole store is full of pretty little pockets of unique items placed to highlight group of products and bring attention to not only sales ( which this store has an abundance of ) but also interested seasonal and limited quantity things . There wine and beer selection is as good as any liquor store in the area, the cosmetics and toiletries section could compete with many department stores. this particular store even carries a few brand name lines of casual clothing. The toy and craft section is over following with fun stuff for the kids and right now the Easter display is hard to get out of because it is SO cute! All in all this store is a delight , the staff are helpful and friendly, it is well lit, clean, and better stocked than the mall stores across the street. There is nothing this store does not carry, and if they don't then it must be something that you don't shop for very often. But ask someone there and I'll bet they will try to help you figure out where to get whatever you need. your pharmacy is great. I moved from CVS back to you. I was told you were closing (bad rumor) because you are building another store at same location so I moved my prescriptions to CVS. It was $45 more on my one prescription. The pharmacist challenged me when I told them it was under $6 at Kroger. She called Kroger and the same medication not generic was indeed $45 less. Also I waited over an hour for my prescription to be ready at CVS. Kroger always has the pharmacy staffed properly so that customers are waited on in a timely manner and their prescriptions are filled in 20 minutes or less. When the mall blvd location opened it was awesome. After 3 months it went down and fast. The staff went from helpful to invisible. There is no one there to help if you have a question. If you come in close to a shift change the out going staff is ready to leave & the incoming staff doesn't want to be bothered until their ready. For a super size location I just dont understand why this Kroger is always out of multiple items we are looking for. This as simple as: garlic powder (we checked back for over two weeks to find it on the shelves), black pepper corns, chives, mint, paper plates and dish soap. I dont believe their that busy. I think its a matter of dont care on the staff & management side. read more

This is by far the worst Kroger Marketplace I have ever been too. I have given this place so many second chances and each time I am sadly disappointed. EVERY single time I go there the Starbucks inside is "closed" for some odd reason - yet there is always a worker behind the counter.... Very strange and so frustrating. Almost 65% of the items I am looking for are "temporarily out of stock"... I'm beginning to think your sign should say permanently out of stock. I can't even go to the meat / seafood section of the store due to the strong smell of bleach. I appreciate the fact that you're keeping the area clean and free of contamination. However, the smell is so strong i almost puke every time... so gross. The staff at this Kroger is hit or miss. Either your cashier / bagger will be friendly or so rude that I feel embarrassed for them. I have officially decided that spending the extra money at Publix is worth the pleasurable shopping experience. Kroger you need to step it up and put your customer first. read more
