Finding them neither with the vegetables or with the alternative milks or with the coffee-based mixed drinks, I assumed they didn't have any of this sort of item, only to find a small freestanding cooler that did have some, but not quite the price or selection that I was hoping after all that searching. Similarly, some elements of the fruit and vegetable section didn't quite have everything I was hoping for. This store also had a longer wait in line than I would have expected despite three registers running. There were still some good quality food items to be had, but trying to shop comprehensively at Fresh Market often leaves me a bit frustrated.

She then proceeded to the closed register, logged in, and scanned 2 carts of groceries! Another worker named Derrick voluntarily came over and started bagging all of our items. We are so VERY appreciative of these two outstanding young Kroger workers who took the time providing quality customer service! Well done!

But this is my backup store, if I need something quick or those two options are unable to source. It is overpriced across the board, and without being a "member" you get no discounts. It forces you to "join" in order to get the "savings" on any item. It also tracks every thing you purchase, go figure... Self check out is the only real option here as well, there are a couple full service registers open at any time, but multiple self check out stations (a lot) always open. One would think if you checked your self out, there would be an extra savings, thats not the case though. 2 Stars - its my plan C when it comes to shopping for food 01093

It was clean and well maintained, I have to give them that. There are random spots in the main parking area but few and occupied by people without placards or tags. I will come back here. The idea for her 75th B-Day was to have Salem Maroon, Pink, and Silver. That is not what we got! What we got was this ugly colored cake with green added in (no green was ever mentioned), what looked like almost brownish-black flowers, and cracks in the cake itself. The only redeeming grace of the cake was that it did taste good! It was moist and fresh. I did not pick the cake up and my cousin did not know exactly what the cake was supposed to look like. She did complain about the cracks and Kroger did give her a $10 discount. She picked up 45 mins before the party started so there was not an option for a do over anyway. After my moms party, I personally went to Lakeside Kroger and spoke to the manager. I showed her the cake pictures and explained what I had asked for. She asked me what I wanted her to do to make it right. I said I want a refund and she didn't hesitate to give it to me. I am giving this Kroger Bakery cake decorator no stars. Do not let this bakery do anything that is really important or a party that has a coordinated color scheme. The cake itself tasted great, just don't do a special order. I am giving 2 stars for the manager who took care of this for me. I would give her 5 stars for being so responsive, but that would be confusing to everyone. My time here at the Roanoke Co+Op was brief, as I spent about 1/2 hour or so looking around and purchased a couple of snack items. The store is one of the largest health and natural food resources in southwest Virginia. It reminds me of my own local natural health food stores in Honolulu but not Whole Foods. It's a quintessential supermarket store that houses a lot of natural food resources that you typically won't find in your larger local grocery stores. They're typically a place where health is impactful and natural foods are the way to build your own lifestyle here in Southwest Virginia. The store itself is not that large but they have a lot of great items to choose from. During the time I was here around 3pm, it wasn't terribly crowded so it was nice to be looking around and seeing what Roanoke Co+Op has to offer. I ended up grabbing healthy snacks and paid cash for them. Healthy chips and healthy drinks other than commercial soda drinks are helpful when you want to maintain weight while maximizing your food options here and supporting local businesses. It was a cozy experience though. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable about a lot of things, specifically how to live a balanced healthy life. We all sure could be more concerned and cognizant about what we eat and how food affects our bodies. Natural foods help bridge that gap with that and the Roanoke Co+Op helps and reminds us of all the natural healthy foods we can incorporate into our diets on a daily lives. It's always nice to find good sources here or wherever your travels takes you. I'm glad my travels took me here and helped me with my snacks and dinner options on a balmy Thursday in March 2026. I enjoyed my time here at the Roanoke Co+Op and hopefully you will too on your next trip here to shop at the Roanoke Co+Op. The overall experience here at the Roanoke Co+Op natural foods store was very good and pleasant. It gave me a chance to wind down during my travels and help myself with meal planning during my stay in Roanoke, even if it's for a night. There was not much of an air conditioning system that kept me and others cool and comfortable. I enjoyed looking at all the different products on the shelves and price compared a lot of things while I was roaming through the aisles that Thursday March afternoon. The prices can be a little more than average, which is typical of natural wellness stores versus the chain supermarkets. You come here because you want to be here and are focused and laser driven on a healthy purposeful life. That is what gets me going every single day I live. The prices doesn't mean much if you don't have health. The store itself is very organized and definitely is amazing. It has everyday items for anyone and everyone who needs healthy food and snacks while having other non edible items for active lifestyles. Regardless of how your lifestyle looks like, the Roanoke Co+Op has what you are looking for. I could have purchased more stuff here but I couldn't use everything during my stay in Roanoke and had to pack it in my luggage, Which was already packed to the max. Even then, my experience here at the Co+Op was very good and happy that I was here. Recommended if you're in the Roanoke area and want to be on top of your health and lifestyle. The Roanoke Co+Op health and natural wellness store is located in Roanoke, Virginia in the Grandin neighborhood. It's physically situated at 1319 Grandin Road SW. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have a small but limited parking spaces for yall who drive. For myself who take public transportation as much as I do, bus routes 65 and 71 passes the Grandin neighborhood and stops nearby. So you can walk from there and to the Co+Op, which isn't far from the bus stops. There's always Uber and Lyft for anyone and everyone who needs that. I ended up walking to the Grandin neighborhood from the 3rd Street Bus station exchange that afternoon because I had time to kill and tried to save a little bit of money. It was money well saved and spent it while shopping at the Co+Op instead. They have a hot bar, where you can buy your lunch and dinner by the lbs. One of these years when my travels permit me to return to Roanoke, I will be able to come back and have lunch or dinner here at the Co+Op. Recommended if you're in the area and want to eat and be healthy. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+
