Although I have a number of masks I wasn't wearing mine but I did maintain about double the recommended six foot distance. The sheep that follow the guidelines to the letter stare at those of us who aren't covered like we are secondary citizens or have leprosy hey news flash you don't intimidate me so back off lol. Don't take me wrong I fully respect the seriousness of Covid-19 but I don't trust everything I'm told (it wasn't necessary for everyone to wear a mask when they weren't available unless your were a health worker or first responser now that the supply has caught up with the demand it's fast becoming a requirement) is that how it works? Okay enough politics - I'm walking around this store in awe of how nice it is and it's so clean, so my mask off the to management team and employees here, this may be the best looking Kroger's I've ever been in. There appears to be some hoarding still in play, the meat section was a little bare and the toilet paper shelf was a little lean I think these items best represents the barometer of the pandemic panic. There are some tricks to shopping in this new age of paranoid behavior, as with most challenges there are a few things that will fix some of the negative trends - if someone is idled too long in front of the wine section for example, just give a few short coughs as you round the corner and they will give you some space and move along, these may seem a little extreme to some but I've experience a few pretty ridiculous stall tactic in front of the produce sections, come on people make a list and get in and out the days of trolling the aisles is over and please leave the kids at home with a sitter. Kroger's has made some adjustments with how their employees interact with the customers and they all seem reasonable so we should support our local business that have put in the efforts - I'd definitely return to this location. Ok so why four stars there is a rent a cop at the exit that asked to see your receipt and never looks into the cart - get rid of the Barney Fife want to be he's irritating...

The soda shoppe inside here has a lunch counter like you might find in historical photos of 1960s America, and they make great shakes and floats. For the first time this week, I was there during the lunch hour and was able to try the food. I had a chicken salad sandwich and cup of chili. Both were very tasty; enough to have me thinking about when I can go back for lunch again. The woman working the counter was very helpful and kind in walking me thru the menu options, and the pricing was good. The gift shop area is currently featuring fall-themed items (think pumpkin-flavored and turkey-themed treats and decor). However there is still a large sampling of items without the fall theme. Honestly, just browsing the gifts is a great way to get ideas when looking for something for someone special.

Located in the midst of allllll the gazillion businesses on Hwy 85, this package store has a decent amount of parking and a huge selection or wine, beer, and liquor. I like that everything was laid out very well and there was plenty of signage around so you could find what you need easily. Oh and the prices were pretty good too. I was able to find what I needed within two minutes of walking into the store and there was plenty of staff available in case I needed help. As I was walking to the checkout counter, a staff member walked by and told me that she would be happy to help check me out. She was friendly and got me out of there super quick. From the first visit I noticed an incredible difference; smiles instead of scowls, kindness instead of rudeness, knowledge instead of shrugs. My former CVS pharmacy had two people who treated me with kindness but one left and the last nice person there was completely overwhelmed. I know they are treated horribly by the company so I don't blame the employees as much as the CVS corporation. Also, waiting behind the very rude customers was always an awful experience, so I know how badly the employees were treated by them as well. After 25 years in retail work I understand the struggle. Anyway, I'm so happy to have discovered Publix Pharmacy at Shamrock Plaza! I heard a rumor from one of the grocery workers that they're moving to Lula Hills when the construction is finished so walking there will be a bit more challenging but I look forward to a new, larger store.
