I was in the area today and stopped in to pick up a few groceries. The Recommendation is mostly for the Amazing people that still work here from when I lived in the area. This store used to be SO CLEAN and well loved and taken care of! Most of the people working here are older and honestly they shouldn't have to be the ones to clean it. I'd think that Value Market could have it professionally done. It needs a really use a deep cleaning in the entry way and actually throughout the store. They still have a nice selection of fresh produce and a good variety of meat, which is what they used to be known for. I'd much rather shop at a smaller family owned business whenever possible but I do hope they step up their game and do some cleaning. It's sad to see it in such dis-array, and well, actually dirty.

This location of Crossroads IGA is more than just a convenience store. It's more like a…read moreconvenience store+. It's also a legitimate grocery store. It's also a Subway. It's also a Shell gas station (one of the few left in the greater Louisville area, I might add.) It's also in a great location, given it's proximity between the Gene Snyder and J-town. I'm always surprised by just how big it is and what they carry. Surprisingly the prices are not convenience store prices on most items and they're generally well stocked. They do a great job of keeping the customer areas clean, even in wet, snowy weather. I've eaten at the Subway a number of times and never been disappointed. Being one of the few remaining Shell stations (I tend to be a loyalist) brings me here on a weekly basis. While most of the Shell stations have converted to Circle K, I'm hoping this one stays.

I have passed by this old Convenient Food Mart store many times but finally made this stop after a recommendation by a close friend who is a big "foodie!" I knew a Meatloaf sandwich was going to be on the list so I went directly to the counter to pick one up, I also picked up a country ham sandwich and bottled water to eat in the front seat of my truck (there were no open seats available inside due to the local crowd occupying all the tables and seating), they were very busy. There was plenty of help, everybody was very helpful and friendly. The steam table had plenty of options for lunch or you can choose to have a deli sandwich made but the Meatloaf is piled high in a bun and it packs all the flavor you expect from a farmhouse kitchen table! I will be back soon and make this a regular lunch stop to try some of there other menu items when I am working in Shelbyville again!

However the simplicity of the burgers and sandwiches is what makes it good. I am pretty sure everything is made fresh daily and they have all the fixin's you need available. This store is also going through a bit of a transformation. They are currently adding new stock, re-configuring the store and making nicer day by day. The store is not the nicest cleanest looking place I won't be back cuz there's like $15 stores and Bullitt County anyway. But I went in there just to try to grab a quick thing for my daughter and on our vacation they didn't have it and everything was kind of expensive not for me.

I find this amusing in that they promote themselves as being for business yet when I place business size orders or pick them up myself they seam easily overwhelmed and often require a manager to assist in finishing the transactions.
