Nobody EVER Brings the shopping carts in. I ALWAYS have to go outside to find them. Not to mention this store was shut down temporarily not long ago for RAT problems! DO NOT order food from the deli at ALL because most rats were found there. read more

Kroger pick up is a much needed service in the age of coronavirus, yet the service is failing customers. I placed an order for pickup between 2-3. I received a message that my order would not be ready until 3. I arrived at promptly at 3. I was told that my order was still not ready and told it would be more like 3:40 for pickup. The service attendant told me that they had completed two bags of my order. I juggled everything to get my kindergartener off the bus and dragged him back to Kroger at 4:00. I called to tell them I had arrived. The man answering the phone told me that my order was still not ready and that it would be quite sometime before it was completed. I cancelled my order and called the store manager. She told me there was no excuse for that and that she would go investigate what had happened. She assured me that the manager of the pick up department would call me the next day and "make things right". I had to make time that night to shop on my own at Walmart. I lost several hours that day. I never received a call. read more

When when I went into the store in Laporte Indiana everything was beautiful nice and clean! All the vegetables were gorgeous and they had a great variety lots of nice things very surprising everyone was pleasant so, I made my way but way back to the "Deli" When we got to the hot food deli as we had been in a hotel, we both decided to get something there. The food was old but we were under the understanding the fried chicken was fresh. So we asked about ordering the dark meat because that's all both of us eat. The lady said "no" "you have to get everything or I can't sell it to you"! So, we relented as we were so car tired.and got it the way she was selling it. The we chose the Mac n cheese and one more side. The mashed potatoes were dried up and they didn't have any thing else. So, my wife chose the onion rings. The did "look " fresh. And she gave us 4 / 2 by 2 rolls! We got back to the hotel and my wife put out that food. Everything was old we ate some chicken and Mac n cheese but the onion rings weren't edible. Eat The store was great but avoid the Deli at all cost! Had we been treated better and told the food was old we would have purchased Subs. I live in LaPorte and I am a Kroger supporter several times a week. In general I like the store. I feel the prices are pretty fare and they have broad selection of products my family likes . However I am noticing a bad trend the last dozen or more visits . The shelves are not being stocked adequately ! Every visit there are a few items I come home without or have make an additional trip somewhere else to buy. These are common items or sale items that should be on the shelf .You rarely see a stock person after 5:00 ? It's a 24hr. store but appears to be about 3 people working in the front of the store after 5. No one available for help anywhere else in the store. If I wanted to shop a no frills store , I will go to Aldi . read more

By far, our favorite grocery store in town. The staff is AWESOME! I always enjoy coming in and seeing the cashiers. Everything is easy to find and I'm glad they are offering more selection in the health foods. I really hope the new Kroger will get a salad bar like Martin's in South Bend! If they do, we will probably eat there EVERY day and it will then be changed to 5 stars for sure! read more

Kroger makes THE bestttttt pine cleaner I've ever used!!!!! Before pinesol made their big change I used to buy their products!! But since Pinesol changed yuckkkkk I went on a mission to find a new pine cleaner similar to the old pinesol original cleaner!!! And i came across Kroger's!!!! Wow best scent and the smell is even better then the old pinesol!! I'm in heaven!!!! I hope they never ever ever change the recipe!!!! I've noticed the color change and that's ok as long as that recipe of scent never changes it's seriously the best cleaner out there and does the job so well!!! Ty Kroger!!! read more

Good people work here, just wish they would improve upon items being out of stock so frequently. We have found that over the past several months, that many products that we like to purchase are very frequently out of stock. This can also be for several visits over a couple of weeks. We have been told by the service desk that it is related to the Al's West location shutting down, but this has been quite some time ago now. There has also been issue with the quality and longevity of vegetables that are in stock, in particular some of the organic items. The shelf of life of many veggies once you get them home are 1-2 days in many cases. On one recent trip, the last of their organic cherries on the shelf were moldy and draining. I did take them to their customer service counter, so they might improve. Might also be nice if aisle way from the Pharmacy into the deli area could be slightly opened up to better handle congestion during peak shopping times. Overall, we are Kroger supporters and thankful for their selection of items they do offer. If only we could have every item on our shopping list, in stock, it would be fantastic. read more

I actually go to Kroger at least 4 times a week. I can get in and out with everything I need and am very satisfied with prices (they used to be priced too high but no longer are) I used to go to Wal-Mart and now Kroger has gone above and beyond to make their customers happy and I now avoid Wal-Mart at all costs. I also save a large amount of money on gas as I get a discount for shopping at Kroger :) Thank you:) As I am a very happy customer, I wanted to point out one and only one dissatisfied purchase I have came across more than once actually 4 times and that is purchasing cases of Coke Cola. When I get home and open the case it's as if a can had butsted in the box and hard dirty dried syrup is stuck all over the cans. Very frustrating. I have even gone to other places to purchase our soda because I dont want it to happen again. So I gave it one more chance today and bought a case and darn it the the syrup was all over the cans :( read more

We order turkeys for all our employees from Kroger every year. 30 turkeys, 18-20 pounds each. We call in 2 weeks in advance and order them. They told us to call the day before, to see if the price dropped. This year, we called the day before pick up, and they didn't have our order. No good reason, just they don't have it. They offered us 14 pound turkeys, or we could wait until next week. Next week is thanksgiving, and how do we know they'd actually have it? We called Walmart, and they saved thanksgiving for our employees. We like to support local businesses, but not Kroger, not anymore. read more

Great place to buy groceries however do not expect any of the clerks to assist you. Mainly because their jobs are never in jeopardy, do they lift a finger beyond the absolute bare minimum to take your money and get you the hell out. I've had better service at Walmart then at this Kroger's. The only reason why I go there is because it is close to my home and the produce is fresher. It was an emergency. Well sort of. The night before a wedding out-of-town. I forgot to pack my damned makeup. (Well, I packed it, but left it laying on the bathroom counter.) So I needed something in La Porte Indiana to be open. Thank you Kroger, I love you for being a 24hr. store. So I nagged the hubby, and he took me there. It is extremely rare for me to have to correct my purchase prices. Some stores it is is pretty common to have prices not knocked off to their sale prices or something gets scanned more than once. Kroger is middle of the road prices, but do have some good sales. The people who work there are always helpful and friendly. The store is clean and they have a nice variety of products. read more

We shop here for most of our groceries. The sale prices are very competitive especially with the "buy 6 and save" items. Seems like some items like the Turkeyhill lemonade is always out of stock, and we go about 3-5 times a week. But overall we are satisfied. read more

We went for groceries, only to be told that the hamburger buns that we needed were "too far in the back to get". So we had to go to another store to get them, where they were easily accessible. Maybe next time we'll just go to the other place that actually stocks their shelves. read more

I moved back to the laporte area some 10 yrs ago. The remodel turned out well. Lately I've seen a lot of "newbes"; but never forget about your seasoned staff. They know me, I know them (not by name) but they extend a smile, or a hello, or a quick 30 second chat. I show at Kroger just about everyday I can find everything really fast and in and out of there fast using the self checkout. I buy all my fruits and veggies there because I have gotten to know the people at the store because they are all very helpful and friendly to everyone. read more

LOVE LOVE this store and it's people. The long time employees are so awesome they know me by name. The employees have always been friendly and have helped me whenever I needed it. I have went to Kroger's in LaPorte In since before it was in it's present location and though I now live just as close to the Kroger's in South Bend I continue to come to LaPorte just for the service I get there. The newer management has a lot to learn on stocking and other aspects of the industry but they will learn and I'm not afraid to tell them what I think would be better. Nobody learns unless somebody steps up and tells them. The store hasn't been dirty and never had a doughnut that tasted like dog do as somebody else suggested. I find the prices there cheaper then Wal-Mart and so rarely go to Walmart. read more

This grocery store has a larger variety of products than most that are close to me. You can always find a great deal or two and the 10 for $10 is worth a 15 minute drive. The store is always well stocked and the work crew is very helpful. By far my favorite grocery store in my area. But one concern I will point out is WiFi. It's hard to look up recipes for a list of ingredients, redeem coupon or even pay with their tap and go banking apps. It really helps. read more
