Staffing is a joke. Line is around the store. One full service and less than half the self-checkouts running. Would have walked out like I've done before and many others did except to be on a plane tomorrow. read more

I had stopped at the Kroger on my way home from work to pick up some items to make dinner. I was able to easily find what I was looking for. The store had everything easily labeled. The prices are very reasonable and I like how you can scan items to be able to get coupons that are needed when purchasing certain items. During this visit I didn't interact with a worker due to me checking myself out but I did see the workers to seem happy. People were keeping the store clean and brining carts in. I will definitely be coming back to this Kroger at times. read more

I have been to two krogers in the area trying to pay my bill. The Kroger on 65th said they were closed until further notice. I was asking a lady is it like that other Krogers but a worker just interrupts us say I need you for 10 minutes and the other lady walks off. When the interrupter saw my reaction she said oh I am sorry we needed her. I just walked out. I go to this Kroger and I am taking an important call... while i am in the front a lady comes to the desk and put a sign up that says come back at 1pm! Like wtf... Kroger customer service was not it this morning. read more

On March 17, 2025, I had a distressing experience at Kroger's self-checkout around noon. After a conveyor belt malfunctioned and reversed, no employees offered help. When I politely asked for assistance, an employee named Cam yelled at me, accused me of breaking the machine, and then aggressively shoved a cart toward me, forcing me to stop it with my hands. I screamed for him to stop, shocked and frightened. I reported the incident to two managers and was told the general manager, Jerald, would handle it. However, when Jerald came out, he ignored me completely and offered no support. He would not look at me or acknowledge me. I left without my groceries and haven't returned since. We were told by the second manager that the investigation would take a couple of days. When I returned two days later with my husband, we were again ignored by Jerald. Cam then left his station and appeared at the customer service counter behind us, laughing and joking about the incident. Jerald told us the investigation was over and refused to issue any apology. Shortly afterward, I called Kroger's corporate office to report the incident. Despite follow-ups with store management and Kroger's corporate office, I've received no resolution. This has been such a traumatic experience that I haven't shopped alone since that incident, and it's been very difficult being in public places alone. I'm now sharing this because no customer should face aggression or be dismissed when seeking help. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected while shopping--and Kroger failed to provide that. read more

My mother shopped at Kroger and thought it was the finest grocery known to man. If she saw it today she would "roll over" in her grave. We went last night at 4:35PM. I only wanted a few things. Yogurt, the shelves were empty of the larger sizer of yogurt. Cottage Cheese, I took the last 3 containers. Frozen Pizza, out of every kind. I got one we had never tried before, and it was a waste. Cleaning supplies, out, had to get another brand, and on and on. We thought we would be in and out, but of course, Kroger always has a line. This time it was unbelievable. No CASHIER'S at all! One young man trying to serve the self-service lines of which there are now 3X as many. People complaining. People having technical problems. People not being able to use the self-check out. My husband complaining saying he will NEVER go back to Kroger and me wondering what "hell" where we in. Large carts full to the brim. At least 5 in each line. Each taking no less than 15 minutes to check out. I really thought I would scream. Then I just got depressed. Is this really what Indianapolis grocery shopping has become? No stores but Kroger and Walmart, both with only self service lines I have shopped in Carmel and Westfield and I did not encounter this service level of bad service. But once inside Marion county, well, who cares? Certainly not Kroger. In summary we picked up our items in 20 minutes and stood in line until 6:10 to pay. Never again. Been there done that! read more

KROGER in general needs to do better! I went to this Kroger at about 3:45 pm on a Wednesday & there was not ONE cashier & everyone was doing self check out. I had ONE item & waited in line with probably 15 other people. Every other light was flashing at the self checkout registers cause the customers don't know what they're doing cause THEY DONT WORK THERE! They have an employee monitoring the self checkouts when they should be on a register instead. I asked for the manager waiting 10 mins for them to never show up, NO, the manager was not on a register either. That's 3 employees who could be checking people out. I complained to the monitor & she literally had nothing to say cause she knows I'm right. The manager obviously doesn't care since they didn't show up for me OR jump on a register to help! This is so unacceptable but it tracks for Kroger cause every store has less & less cashiers. There is no customer service so Kroger, if you want me to check myself out, I NEED A PAYCHECK! And if you don't want to pay cashiers or pay a decent wage, then be closed..... forever! I'm sick of it ! (The 1 star is only cause I couldn't pick 0 stars ) read more

I went into this Kroger because I purchased a purse at another location the day before and they forgot to take off the security tag. Very long story short , it took four people to finally get it off. When at first they told me they couldn't remove it, I asked to return it and they told me I had to take it back to the store where I purchased it, two hours away. I was traveling, getting ready to fly out and didn't have time to backtrack. They were very rude and not willing to try it all until I became persistent and said they must have cutters or something that they could remove the device. After was removed, the woman practically shoved it back into my hands. I told my family members who lives in the area. I would never frequent the store again. read more

Amrin is excellent and caring in the bakery department, she took special care to leave a nice message on a cake. A bright part of my day!

Appreciate the stuff. They, like many other places, could use a few more employees. That is not a kroger specific problem. Checkout staff usually very friendly. I notice carts outside that most folks walk right past only to get frustrated to find no carts inside. Do your arms not work until you're in the store? Mike read more

Much better service then the last time I was here. But still only one live cashier. Store was clean and much more spacious then most Krogers. Was able to find what I needed and get out in an ok time. It's a less than 50% chance of finding a cart inside the store. And the employees do not give a damn. I've had cashiers walk away from me to talk to another employee or a friend when I needed help in the self checkout. Got into a shouting match with a cashier when she just flat ignored me. Kroger - two empty wine glasses on a granite countertop - Grocery Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

I stopped at Kroger after dinner to get a few items for a dinner party the next night, and was pleasantly surprised with my experience. It was nice and clean, and everything was well stocked. I did not see any empty shelves and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only down side was the long line for the self check-out, and only one register line was open, and that was packed as well. Other than that, everything else was OK. I was able to move around the store with ease and find everything I wanted to purchase, so I was a happy camper. I do give this Kroger proper credit for being organized and making things easier for the customer. Other Kroger locations I have been to are a mess and not organized and well staffed at all. If in the area, I would shop at this Kroger again because it is convenient, clean, and well stocked. That is what I look for in a grocery store. read more

Kroger is the best, most affordable way to do some quality grocery shopping. The 71st and Binford location is my go to for grocery, gas, and pharmacy needs. I recently tried the click list feature in the app and was pleasantly surprised with how my order came out. I was quoted $41 for a lot of produce (including avocados), water, shrimp, and chicken. My actual total was $38! Although I didn't request substitutions for out of stock items, the staff provided me with some extra corn for the price of the amount I wanted since they were out of the smaller package. The avocados were perfectly ripe and ready to be made into guacamole that night. The first 3 click list orders are free and after that it's $4.99. Click list makes shopping easier as you can plan your entire week's worth of meals and budget it using the coupons in the Kroger app. Pure genius! My only suggestion is that they hire more staff to do click list so that people can order their groceries closer to the time of pick up. I ordered at midnight and picked up my groceries at 5:30 PM. I could've shortened that timeframe, but I knew I'd forget and by the time I'd remember, it would be past the pick up hours. Giving customers an hour or two before a pick up time may be helpful for those last minute trips to the store. Well worth the money if you're looking to save time, save money, and eat healthier. read more

The 'NEW' Kroger is my favorite place to shop. Everything is bright, aesthetically pleasing and easily accessible. I like the options of the hummus and sushi in addition to their salad bar and many deli offerings. Did you know you can order a giant party box of fried chicken and have it hot and ready by the time you're done shopping for only $28? The prices are always reasonable or on sale with your Kroger Plus card. You can always find a nice bottle of wine in a range of prices, and 10% off when you buy 6 bottles. Count on finding a nice fresh made bread and cheese to go with it nearby. Got a prescription? Drop it at the drive through and pick it up when you're done shopping. Easy peasy! This Kroger is very well stocked and organized. I am able to find everything I need and they have an excellent produce department. I just discovered Kroger Click-List and that has made my experience with this store even better as I just drive up and have the groceries placed in my car. I've always liked this Kroger and have shopped here often since they opened, but now My problem is with online ordering. They have rolled out this beautiful program, like many other corporations, to add online ordering with pu or delivery. --but got the cart before the horse. MY problem--there is no place at the beginning of the format to find out when pu time is available///where they are in their distribution of rec'd orders for the day. ONLY after entering an order do you find that your designated pu time is 5-8hrs later!! Why would I want to place an order for PU when I have no idea when I could?? Have called about this many times, always with yes, you won't know til you've entered your choices. *****Not convenient. read more

This is a nice store! One of my pet peeves with grocery stores is when the produce is lacking in availability and freshness. This one seems to be well taken care of. There's average amount of parking and this one has a fuel center so you can take advantage of the fuel rewards. They have added in the natural and organic aisles so there's quite a bit of selection here. I will say, I came here around closing time and it can be a little dreary - only self checkout lanes, one unenthusiastic worker, and a security guard standing and watching everyone. read more

I drive a little bit further to shop at this Kroger although there's another store closer. The staff members are very pleasant & helpful, especially when I typically shop at the end of the night when they're preparing to close. At that time only U-scans are usually open for checkout still they reliably go above & beyond to help, always making me feel welcome. I walk with a cane & they are all a tremendous help even opening a cashier check-out lane to make it easier for me when it's a large order. Ali & her check-out assistant have found & retrieved products from in the back when the shelf with the sale item was wiped out at the end of the night. She always remembers my name & even enlists help for me with taking groceries out then loading them in my vehicle, particularly when I have something like (5) cases of water. She efficiently processes any kind of refund or exchange & is quite knowledgeable about Customer Service needs. Rose who often monitors U-Scans close to closing time is exceptionally patient with me & has even scanned & bagged orders for me when she can tell I'm having a difficult night physically. She still smiles when time after time I manage to make a goofy mistake or do something annoying (again!). Rose is knowledgeable & always professional. read more

This is one of my favorite Kroger stores. The produce section is always stocked with fruit and veggies that scream pick me! I love that there are organic options too! The "natural foods" sections is worth the brag! I hate having to go through the entire store to have to try to find all the "natural foods" and this Kroger has them in their own section! Aisles are the norm, any other typical store. I love the florals they have here, not my first choice but they come in a close enough. Overall not a bad Kroger. Only reason I didn't give the fifth star is due to the registers not always being open. Seems like I stepped in Wally World when its time to check out. The grocery lead JUSTIN is very rude and very unprofessional. I don't know why he gets away with acting like this and is a lead to this Kroger. This used to be one of the best grocery stores around, but it's really gone downhill. After Marsh closed, Kroger had a huge influx of customers, which understandably caused stocking, staffing, and cart issues. However, it's been almost a year since then, and the issues haven't improved much. It's not uncommon to find a basic items out of stock, especially in the produce department. Broccoli, celery, and Greek yogurt are just the most recent things I tried unsuccessfully to purchase here. The majority of the staff is polite (with the notable exception of the younger white woman who works the self checkout lanes) But it's not their fault that the management won't hire more people or staff enough of them to keep the checkout lines at a reasonable length. The management clearly wants to push people towards the self check out lanes, which are fine for when you have a small number of items, but not a whole cart full. There are usually very few carts in the store because, again, staffing issues. The worst part about all this is it feels like management does not care and does not plan on fixing anything. I know more than one person who has sat down with the manager to discuss the issues. I'm not one of those people, because, ain't nobody got time for that, but the point is, management is well aware that local customers are unhappy. It feels like they know that people don't have much of a choice. They are the only full scale major grocery chain left in town, so I'm sure they think, what are people going to do? I really hope Indy can secure another chain grocery store soon, to make Kroger step it up. Until then, my first choice for groceries will be Aldi first, then Trader Joe's, then Kroger as a last resort. read more

Ugh. I shop here because I live close. It's an okay run of the mill grocery store, but there are some things that really bother me about it. First, do not shop here in a Saturday evening. They don't restock until Sunday so you're left with all their really bad produce. And then even on Sundays, sometimes they are out of the most ridiculously basic stuff, like grapes or cucumbers. Then they don't open all their registers up during the most crowded times, so it's a long wait. read more
