With this we ended up at Smith Family Farms Market on Saturday and purchased 3 beef filets for grilling on Father's Day. The service was great and the people were very friendly and helpful. BUT, the best part was the steaks. These were by far the best steaks we had grilled in a long while. They melted in your mouth they were so tender. I braised them over high heat for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on each side. Then grilled them for 8 minutes on each side. They were very thick and turned out beautiful with slight pink center (temperature was about 150° - 155°). As said they were so tender.. We've found a new go to. Our thanks to the people at Smiths for making our Father's Day meal special!!!

I usually do the self check out and only have to involve someone when they need to check id for beer but they always seem to respond quickly and on this day there was not wait at the self checkout. Their produce is nice and they have a great selection. The prices are decent and they have great season ending clothes and shoe sales. I also used the deli today and the folks that waited on me today were friendly and quick. Although deli prices have gone sky high lately but that is no fault of Meijer.

After I moved back to town a few years ago, feelings changed toward the store. Most of the food is higher priced (which is understandable because of thief lack of buying power) and they do a lot of butchering in house. The true gem is the meat. Local, fresh, and surprisingly cheap! My biggest problem is the store feels dirty or run down. (meat and kitchen areas not included) Its a great little neighborhood store and has most of the things you'll need.
