We have lived in Anderson for three years and passed by this market many time. Such a pity.... so…read moremuch we have missed. This year we stopped and have enjoyed new fingerling potatoes, amazing green beans (2 bushels that were so very nice ... not stringy and they still had their 'snap!' We canned 43 quarts & had several family comfort dinners!). The peaches were just perfect - perfectly ripe & unbruised. Looking forward to seeing the apples come soon! I almost forgot to mention how impressed I am with Amy! So helpful and she was willing to fulfill my special orders!

In good weather it is outside, in rainy weather they go inside to the old school gymnasium. It's perfect! This is a small farmers market but there are several faithful vendors I love including Asparagus Annie's (their own produce, breads, pies and sometimes crafts), a local farm with their own vegetables and meats (try the sausages), local honey from Wildflower Ridge and local artisans with jewelry, art, homemade cards and more. You get the flavor (ha!) so come check it out yourself and support our local growers!

So it's definitely worth a coffee stop on Saturdays, plus you get a chance to shop from local independent merchants. MUGS was offering a free coffee or a free breakfast burrito today. I got the burrito. It was cheesy with eggs and sausage and veggies-- a $4 value for free. You can also get a coupon for next Saturday too.

The sunflower field is smaller but they have a specific section just for taking photos. Watch out for the bees - they love sunflowers too :) We also noticed that they had food trucks available during the summer sunflower field weekends as well. They have a small farmers market with a gift shop, produce, and lots of goodies. In the Fall, they have mums, pumpkins, and gourds available.

The potty humor for the fudge amps up to 5th or 6th grade humor. If you survived Elementary School, you should be able to handle this. Visit their website to see the level of humor expected. Again, the ice cream was excellent and served by a staff of teens. The facility was clean and I like the use of graffitied vintage chairs and furniture in the ice cream eatery. Unfortunately, the fudge counter barely made it off the launchpad. When I approached, I encountered a very self-important "fudge technician" who apparently didn't give a fudge. He offered no assistance, announced that he needed to go somewhere else in the building "to work on something," and, while walking away, asked someone else to help me. After all that buildup, I was surprised to find only about eight varieties of fudge. At $20 per pound, you'd better hope one of those limited choices sends you over the moon--because the counter service certainly won't.

Not a single complaint from anyone! The food was incredible, with a tasty variety of appetizers like fried pickles, quesadillas, salad, chips, and jalapeño poppers--everything was a hit. I personally enjoyed a favorite of mine, a buffalo chicken wrap which was full of delicious flavors and ingredients. We were able to provide drink tickets, and the selection--from ciders to sour beers--was top-notch and well-loved by everyone. The space itself is warm, welcoming, and perfect for larger gatherings. The assortment of board games was a hit amongst our crew. I couldn't recommend Creatures of Habit more--whether it's for events, hangouts, or anything in between. Thank you again!
