Placed an online order for pickup at 5pm. Received a text saying my order was ready for pickup, arrived to the store at 5:10pm and my order was not ready. Spoke with Nicole, who told me my order needed one more item and it would be brought to me. I waited at the store for my order until 6:16pm before it was brought out. Nicole told me they were waiting for someone to bring me my case of Ozarka water and my order would be complete. I waited another 15 minutes before being told the manager said the water was too far back in the warehouse for them to take the time to get it. I was given a case of Kroger water instead. I spent an hour and a half waiting for my order just to get home and find items are missing. I did not get the Starbucks coffee, the Cafe Bustelo coffee and one package of the party wings I ordered. read more

To say the parking lot was full, lines inside were moving quickly. I typically prefer curbside but I was able to get in and get out fast. I mostly shopped for produce which was well stocked and packaged. Aisles seemed to be well organized and clutter free. I was greeted by the checker and bagger and thanked for my visit. So let's be very serious, Kroger is a bit more expensive than other grocery stores in Houston, or even in the area, but there are a few things that continuously bring me back to this store: 1. I love their flower selection, so I make regular trips to pick up some $10 roses; 2. They have ice cream and froyo brands that I cannot find anywhere else (Halo Top, Blue Bunny, Rebel, Talenti). Basically, they carry unique brands; 3. I love the bbq chicken and ribs from their hot station; 4. They've got a dessert station full of yummy cakes (red velvet, cheesecake, lemon pound cake), pastry (apple tarts, strudels, croissants), and a diverse assortment of cookies; and 5. Cheese. So much cheese. So all in all, while not my first choice for groceries, it is my first choice for roses and specific brands. read more

I could not believe how naive I was. After reading every review, I really thought I could prove them wrong about this Kroger Store in Medical Center area. But it was not the case. I am usually here for quick grabs after doctor appointment and before long drive home. But this time, I decided to do a midweek grocery shopping. Started from produce department, I only found 40% of my usual items at this store. Where did the rest go? Ah, bananas are below the shelves. They must be shorthanded. I saw customers reached down like how bananas should be. I rarely see poblano peppers in good condition. So I skipped it. There is always a wet rug by refrigerator. Someone please fix the leak. Onward to meat department, they are sparingly stocked in 2 tiny aisles. You've got to be joking. Seafood counter is half of usual Kroger size. I can't buy any meat here because they're double priced when not on sale. I have to go to other Kroger stores to complete my shopping. The worst part of shopping here is to fulfill multiple item coupon sales - buy 10 save $5. Don't think 50 cents off is nothing when little bit helps to reduce overall grocery costs. If I compare the prices, I'd rather shop at H-E-B. But because of Kroger's uniformed sales prices and reward incentives, I stay with Kroger. I had trouble completing the 10 item requirement because it's either they were over priced or not available. Going back and forth from aisle to aisle, finally found pastas to be the least expensive items with this coupon. Guess what? My cupboard is full of pastas. Like I need any more. They are usually donated at the end of year. The cashiers are kind of rude sometimes. Many times, I overheard them complaining about their boss and company policies while checking out my grocery. One time, this guy included me in his conversation. What the hell? I think I know who the boss is. There was a tall gentleman looking like an actor drove a fancy sports car. Everyone behaved very differently when he was in the store. I happened to go back to the store and saw him walked to his car while passed a pile of shopping carts in the parking lot. Personally, I do not come to this Kroger very often. It is dangerous to park because of all the crazies driving around and it feels dangerous to shop here. The customers here are rude and the whole store is constantly filled to the brim with people. The seasonal section is never stocked in time for the actual holiday and the employees look like they have no clue what is happening. Not the safest area either. read more

Horrible service. I have never had the privilege of shopping in this particular Kroger but I did manage to utilize their money service counter to purchase ONE money order. I stood in line for over 45 minutes while one poor employee attempts to handle a line of almost 20. Requested to speak to the manager on duty spoke with David who did NOT see the need for additional personnel to assist with the growing line. He did NOT apologize for the inconvenience or even express an ounce of urgency to find someone to assist customers. Do better Kroger or atleast employ individuals that can do better. read more

We're from NV and are in a nearby RV Park while I undergo treatment at MD Anderson. Our home store is Smith's, which is owned by Kroger. So, it was great to find this store that pretty much carries brands we're familiar with, including house brands. The produce section is always well stocked, the meat & fish counter is also well stocked, and has a variety of different items, some of which are unfamiliar to us, probably because this is a different part of the country. I would say the store is a good find. I think prices are ok and pretty much the same as what we're used to at home. And, as an added bonus, it's not so far from our RV Park that we can't just hop in the truck and get something if we want. read more

I go to this Kroger all the time and never wrote a review. Anyway I usually visit this store during the day, because its on my way home from the gym. I've been around rush hour time and the parking lot gets really congested. But once you park and go in at that time the inside of the store isn't really that bad. They do have enough staff to accommodate the volume of people. I appreciate that a lot. The store is very clean, and the staff is very helpful. There is a sushi bar has a great selection of different types of sushi rolls, wontons, and other stuff. There is a plethora of baked goods.. and the deli section is great as well This really is a great store. read more

Update: This location now offers Kroger Gas. Been racking up all those Kroger points?!?! Don't know what they're good for? 10 cents off per gallon! My car holds about 20 gallons so that's 2 dollars saved. Also they are constantly having those buy 10 items sales. On my last trip to Kroger I saved about 20 dollars using this promotion. They're gonna just take your money.....My card was not approved twice before the person at the register said the whole country is having problems...while later the manager says it's a Kroger issue, not the whole country. Kroger is a great place to get gas when you have gas points! Since it has been a pandemic my points have been rolling over and I have over 50 points! I have been shopping and some how been saving. I love that I can use my phone to clip coupons to. My mom is a senior and she gets all types of discounts. I like this Kroger because it is near the Medical Center and it keeps all types of specialty items, but it can get a little busy at times. I always return through. My wife and I do most of our shopping at this Kroger and it definitely gets the job done. First, the location is pretty convenient, although it's a little tricky to turn in (or out) from Kirby since the entrance is pretty steep. The parking lot can get pretty busy depending on when you go, but we've always managed to find a spot somewhere. Honestly, I would say this Kroger is very similar to other decent Krogers, so if you've been to one of them, you'll likely be able to find your way around this one too. I will say that they recently cut down on the beer selection and no longer have the same number of nice bombers available, which was a little disappointing to me. Also, I had issues getting gas once from the associated gas station, but in general the pumps have worked fine. Not sure how much one can say about Kroger, but I recommend coming here for groceries :) Oh, and the staff here have generally been nice as well, so no complaints on that front! read more

I call the Kroger on Kirby ghetto because they act like they don't care how the store look and constantly have old items on the shelf. Yes, it is odd to give a review of "just" a grocery store but all Krogers are not created equal. When I used to live on the other side of the medical center, I shopped at the other Kroger near Cambridge and OST. I stopped in there the other day and they've upgraded it a bit so good job! But, the focus is on this superb Kroger - which was a former Albertson's way back in time. They have just finished revamping the front of the store and made it more airy and foot traffic friendly. The patrons are a blend of young medical staff, some college students, professionals, and homeowners from surrounding upscale neighborhoods (Old Braeswood). Overall, a good crowd to keep the management on their toes to keep up standards. The two pharmacists and techs are all super-friendly with a ready smile on their faces. The floral staff are all eager to help out, too. The cashiers and sackers are all ready to lend a hand. It has an in-house bakery, rotisserie, and sushi department. The variety of goods in this Kroger is above average while also affordable. I especially like the produce department: clean, big, and lots of fresh stuff. Since this Kroger is closest to Reliant Stadium, I'd avoid shopping here on Texans home game days unless you want to see lots of facepainted fans picking up some stuff for their tailgating (not that there's anything wrong with that!). I just don't want to be tangled in the crush of traffic. read more

This this store is not one of the larger or more modern Krogers but it does normally have a nice selection of almost anything. The location allows for patrons of all walks of life, cultures and economic backgrounds and ages. This is likely because it sits on a main artery and is closed to hotels, apartments, luxury homes, a University and the TMC. Cons: small, not a lot of "sell by" items. Pros: multicultural and nice cross section of ages in the shopping population. Fresh items. read more

This is the worst Kroger in Houston and that is saying something the assistant store manager with the mustache looks like a Chomo not only followed me out to my car after laughing in my face with a group of gentleman that he worked with while I was walking away, but all of the employees that I deal with or apathetic non-helpful just the worst type of human being I've ever encountered and like I said, decided to chase me out to my car and puff his chest out because he had a security guard behind him which all I did was tell them that it was the worst store I've ever been to. Brad in the deli section was awesome, as usual! I had 2 different thanksgiving meal orders to be picked up at 830am and 130pm on the same day. I came to pick up my orders for the 830am and he went out of his way to put my orders together for the 130pm also so I didn't have to come back later that day. The store was bare at 6:30 am on a Sat. The black young lady in the bakery/deli was rude and unhelpful.

The Kroger at Kriby and Main St. is a sorry excuse for a store. The parking lot was not full, there were some carts in the parking lot and no carts in store. I asked an employee and and she nonchalantly said, we have two people bringing them in and as soon as they come in people snag them. There were not any employees in the parking lot. I used to go the the Kroger at Buffalo Speedway and Westpark and loved it. The last few months, though, even that Kroget has gone down here. The store employees used to be friendly and helpful. I never went that theT I didnt get at least two or three employees asked me if I needed help or found everything I was looking for. That hasn't happened lately. HEB on the other hand has really stepped up their game. Their new stores are awesome and I guess I will be changing allegiance after 30 years of being a loyal Kroger shopper. read more

Everyone that I had some sort of contact in the store was miserable. I will never step a foot in here again. Cashiers just glared at us when pleasantly greeted, rolled their eyes and could not seem to do a thing. Butcher didn't even respond to casual conversation, except with a grunt. A customer cursed at me in Spanish when I commented to my daughter not to get in her space because she was not wearing a mask as required stated in a sign as you enter the door.
