Edit - I had forgotten all about my previous review until I checked in again. I do want to say that the store manager did her best to make things right when she heard about my experience and was extremely apologetic. I've since been back to this store numerous times and I'm always very pleased with each experience since the incident below. I've even noticed cashiers are available a little later than what they used to be which is excellent and I'm very appreciative of that. So I head out to Kroger to start my weekly grocery shopping and as I stroll up to the front to purchase my items, I see they only have the self scan. Usually I don't mind if I only have a couple things, but I had an overflowing buggy. Luckily no one else was at the scanners but as I started to scan everything, that's when everyone wanted to be checked out and the line started to get backed up. Irritated that 1) these stupid things are replacing jobs people need 2) I'm not being paid to do this job, I buy from the store and they ensure the purchase of it is handled properly. I already put in my 40 hour work week 3) I'm unintentionally irritating other people by taking so long. So I finish and pay. I ask the self check out person to speak with a manager to express my opinion for the need of an actual cashier for larger purchase like mine. I was told there wasn't one and he asked what the problem was. I tried to tell him and he kept interrupting me, saying if I didn't want to scan my groceries that I should have asked him to do it. I kept telling him I shouldn't have to ask someone to check out my purchases and that I wasn't upset at him and that's why I wanted a manager. He decides to keep arguing with me and said that I can speak to a manager if I wanted to, but they wouldn't care because they get the same complaint every night. Oh? They don't care about their customers concerns? I immediately said to get his supervisor because I wanted to return my purchase. He tries to tell me I can't because the customer service center was closed. I insisted again about getting his supervisor so he pages her. I told her what happened and she ripped into him in front of me and about 5 other people then proceeded to return my $200 purchase. It's a shame because I really liked this location. 2 hours of my time down the crapper. Looks like HEB only for me. read more

Try having some of the sale sushi on $5 sushi day. It's gone before 5 and no one to make more. Also, have tried to find fenugreek at both nearby locations with little luck. The more obscure, organic and plant-based items on my lists keep driving me to other stores. read more

they lack all of the personal touches that make me want to buy my groceries there meat is mot as good and prices are high. vegetables are second rate. also everything is tied to my phone if i did not click exactly right i did not get the special prices. too much hassle for second rate read more

This place is great. I have only been there twice and each time I have seen Nelson in the meat market area. He's super nice and very knowledgeable. Today he educated me and is just a cool guy to chat with for a couple minutes. Never felt so welcome as a customer in a grocery store before. read more

I learned after getting my car inspected that Kroger can renew your registration at the Service Desk. This where I met Frank. What a great person to have there! He truly understands service, welcoming customers, and taking care of people. KEEP HIM! read more

Curbside follies We had a delivery issue with Kroger sometime ago and they sent a credit to us for the issue. But recently it was even worse where we received five Bunches of bananas where we had requested five bananas. We also received things that we didn't order and we were charged for everything Plus the things that they left off of our list. Their explanation was that they were using checkers to pick up the food because they had such high demand. If they can't train their people to assist customers in the way that should be done then maybe they should get out of the curbside business? read more

This is for the bakery. Do not order from this location. Who ever the cake decorator is either needs to be retrained or fired. My son's cake is trash. Looks nothing like the picture on the website. Plus it was not ready even though they had 3 whole days to do it. Plus had to come back to pick it up because it was not ready! So I am not happy. I only paid for it because I did not want to go all over town trying to find a cake. Did I also mention it wasn't even the right cake flavor? Omg. I am never ordering there again. read more

I shop there a lot. went to buy jelly a week and a half ago. there was a mess in the bonne maman. sticky jelly under jars. went back last Friday still nasty talked to manager about it. came back today nothing has been done. tells me they have a problem with quality control on cleaning. manager doesn't care. read more

Will never be shopping here again. I was followed by two employees with my fiancé and it was extremely uncomfortable. They made it obvious they were scouting us. We know every employee but these two MANAGERS were unprofessional. Never once customer serviced us or greeted us. Just followed us around and stared. grocery pickup is like playing lotto. Sometimes you win, most times not. The shoppers are doing their best I am sure, but, rotten produce should never end up in my shopping bags. This has happened more than once. Also, substitutions seem to be at the shoppers whim. Often the substituted item is not even close. for example, substituting whole wheat bagels for blueberry ones. Why not sub store brand blueberry bagels for the name brand, or just no sub at all? We have been shorted items many times as well. The store has always tried to make good on all of these issues, but, it takes a follow up visit and a phone call to make that happen. I love the convenience and the shoppers are always super sweet and helpful, I just wish there was a way to prevent some of the return trips. read more

Ordered a special cake for a friends birthday a week in advance (pictures attached). Went to pick up the cake today and this is what I got.. cake decorator attempted to redo the cake 4 times before I told her to stop trying. Ridiculous. If you cannot make the product the way the customer asks it to be made, LET THEM KNOW UP FRONT. I provided a printed out picture of what I wanted for them to use as a reference. Recently moved to north Conroe and we LOVE the Kroger here. Clean. Well-stocked, well-lit, friendly team and great deals on groceries. Huge selection, awesome bakery and deli and meat dept. Never been a huge fan of this location. Parking is stressful because of gas station, and multiples restaurants and stores on all sides of store. You really have to be on guard! Lines also tend to be long once inside. I do still go here, but I prefer other Kroger locations to this one. read more

Now this is a nice Kroger. It's as nice if not nicer than the ones in Houston that I'm use to. It totally puts the one in Huntsville to shame. I'm not willing to drive 30 mins just to go to Kroger, but if I'm passing through again I'll probably stop here. They also have cheap (ish) gas, and I agree with Tom N. about it feeling safe due to the good lighting. Just wish they wouldn't close one of the two entrances so early (9pm). read more

My girlfriend had ordered groceries online from this Kroger location. We were updated that a few items were not in stock but noticed on the bill that it was very close to the same price as if the items were still being charged. After looking the itemized bill over we found multiple items that we did not order. The associate shopping for us decided to buy some things for herself and let me pay for it and she was very clever about it as she made sure the bill stayed very close to the same amount as it would have been if non of the items I requested we not in stock. I called and the manager stated there was nothing that he could do. I did request a refund for the difference in which they claim they were ... me but as for this associate there was nothing they could do but to put to mark her down as an associate that could no longer shop for me. Best kept secret this side of 242. Why? The veggies and fruit are always looking CLEAN for starters. The RRs is always clean too and with my MS, RRs are life. You don't shop Kroger for savings unless you keep a Kroger card close by so expect those pretty prices. That being said, I grab my seafood here before HEB, Wal-Mart and others because I've never gotten bad anything at Krogers. Your beer selections will be standard but wines are quite diverse. It's a smaller Kroger so lines will be long on weekends but weekdays, I'm in and out. read more

Came to the grocery store to grab a few things the day after Thanksgiving. I live out of town, but when I come visit family this is the store I come to. Love the store! Ashlee was my cashier on this day and she went over and above the call of duty for myself and my daughter. She was most kind and helpful. Made people from out of town feel welcome! I was very disappointed today when I visited the Kroger Store in Conroe. After reading there ad yesterday, I went to purchase some of there sale items. First 24 oz Cottage Cheese. Kroger here in this northern part of Conroe is large with a good variety of vegetables, meat, and other goods. Opens late if you need to grab something at night. Feels safe and secure here. My daughter loves this supermarket b/c they also have kiddie shopping carts perfect for any kid between ages of 3-10 to play with (and to shop with). One time I found some rare Hot Wheels car here (many vintage Datsun cars not available here). read more

Tried to get gas, but the wait time at the pump was horrible. After 30 minutes of waiting, we left to get gas at another station. The personnel inside the store are terrific. The person working the gas island may need additional training. read more

Now......I rarely go to this store but do go to it when traveling through Conroe. I love their flower area. I bought my mom some flowers and lasted 12 days. I also like their bakery. They really have a variety to choose from. Very nice store indeed and I will return. read more
