This location is now pickup only. This review is for the pickup at this location. I liked that Kroger had switched a lesser used older store over to pickup only to help with the recent demand. I placed my order and was able to get second day pickup time. Now... I did clicklist one other time and it was a damn disaster. I swore to myself I would never ever do it again, but unfortunately it is the safest option anymore. I decided to give it one more try. Well, first time shame on them, second time shame on me for trying again. I arrived at my pickup time. This place is quite a maze. There were friendly employees outside that greet you, explain the procedure, and direct you as to where to go. Check in here is now done on the app as opposed to calling a phone number. I pulled into my spot and waited. While I was waiting I noticed a TON of employees standing around... which is fine... plenty of people waiting to keep things moving BUT no one was wearing masks and they were NOT 6ft away from eachother AT ALL. I started to feel quite queasy about the safety of shopping here! I waited about 10 mins and a cheerful lady approached my car... sadly not 6ft back from my window though. She handed me my receipt as another person loaded my trunk (again no one wearing masks). I asked what about the substitutions I didnt want or my coupons and she said I had already been checked out. My understanding was, checkout was done at car, coupons given, and substitutions could be declined. While she was nice she said she didnt know anything about that and told me to have a nice day. I was forced to pay/keep things I didnt want, couldn't use my coupons, and more than half of my items were out of stock. An $85 order turned into a $25 order half of which was subs I didnt want. Lesson learned, AGAIN. I will stick to Walmart or Target for drive up where the procedure is 300% better, things are in stock, and the employees are acting in a safer and cleaner manner. Just watched two different Kroger's Delivery Drivers, use the rest stop bathroom on I -75 north bound, not wash their hands, one was eating lunch, the other just got in his truck, not 18 wheelers. I wouldn't take a Delivery from Kroger's if you paid me to. Just plain Nasty. read more

This is the worst Kroger I have ever been in. It needs major renovation. In fact it should be leveled. The employees at the service desk are very unfriendly. I am done shopping here. I pass it on the way to work or home but no more stopping at this dump. The employees refuse to take back a defective product or bad seafood/meat that was purchased at another store. Oh I forgot a coupon and try to give to them when I run in for something quick...Sorry you bought it at a different Kroger go to them. Their produce department is small and often is half empty. Their shelves are often out of the sale items. They don't have enough cashiers and the ones they have don't have adequate supervision. Deli selection and the meat department is a joke. I don't know why anyone would do their regular grocery shopping there. Go down the street to the other Kroger on Eastgate blvd or to Meijers. Sorry can't be a regular Walmart shopper. read more

Needs some updating. The sale of really old meat (at the end of the meat department) is kind of gross. Could use more kid friendly carts similar to the car shaped ones. Usually I am in and out without a problem but the past few times I avoid a snotty teenaged cashier because he is almost always rude to everyone in his lane. I purchased cheese three days ago that was moldy and haven't heard back from anyone and had a bit of an attitude thrown at me for returning it. Sorry but I am not keeping five bucks in cheese that isn't edible. Probably going to start going to another location for better service and edible food. read more

This is definitely one of the dive'y'er Kroger grocery stores in anderson/south east side. they are older, the layout is quite strange and the produce i think is second choice to the marketplaces. but this didnt knock them below 3 stars, they have a decent selection of stuff and its still better than remke/biggs.... its the staff at checkout that frustrate me the most...both young and old... they are always chatting about personal topics with each other and completely ignore the customer or common courtesies... i know more about what some other employee is doing with their boyfriend than I do about my own sister's dating life... it almost seems like i am an inconvenience to their conversation... so i want to give it 1 star... but its in a good location so i keep going back... read more

My preferred Kroger location. Not too busy and the employees are always nice. I too, have purchased cheese that had mold but they were very kind and made it easy to swap it out. The new large self-scans are great! Checking out was always easy because there wasn't long lines but this new addition made it even faster. I wish they had the kids carts here because there would be no need to go to Amelia but they do have one race car. The free balloons and fruit stand for kids is great! My kids love being able to pick their balloon and a banana or cutie, which keeps then occupied while I shop. Major plus. Cashiers always offer them stickers as well. The store and parking lot is always clean and the cart drop-off is always being emptied. They have a great selection of clearance items that I like to go through everytime I shop, can't beat a great deal. A few times there are boxes of cereal (example, last time it was a family size Apple Jacks) for .75! Love that. I have never had an issue with this location being out of an item, even the Free Friday items are always nicely stocked. The meat is always fresh and in good supply. They keep the older clearance meats away from the fresh (some locations don't). read more

I love this kroger . The employees are nice , took stuff back form another kroger & they took it didnt say anything about it being from another store, all stores have a mark down at the end of the department & when I go to some of the bigger Kroger they are out of the sale items not this one. Yes this store is smaller and older but it is not a dump. I could go to the store in Amelia or eastgate. I never write or call about a review but when I read these review it mad me upset . I do like going to this store . Keep up the good work. read more

I love this little store! It may be out-dated, as some reviews state, but I find everything I need. They are friendly and helpful. I hate the huge stores! This store has a great selection of deli and bakery items and there is rarely a long wait. I like the layout because I know it. The bigger stores are constantly changing things around so that you have to hunt for what you want. If I wanted to go hunting for food, I would get a gun and go to the woods. read more

I consider this my main store for grocery and pharmacy needs. I've been going there for 6 years and the main staff is wonderful. The pharmacy and deli staff ALWAYS remember you and often what you prefer. The pharmacy is the best, not the biggest but when it comes to customer service it cannot be beat. They know you by name, they know your family profile. They see you as a patient and not just a number. There could be more of a selection but it is one of the smaller hubs serving a smaller community. It has all the needs for my family and most in this small community. If I needed something more I would perhaps consider another store but they consistently meet my needs. The management has some growth to consider where the regular attendants are more savvy and more friendly than management is at this very moment where old mgmt. is on it's way out and new mgmt. seems to be unfriendly at times and not very knowledgeable. I suggest they give out cheap and easy to use business cards to employees so when we want to give accolades to a certain employee it makes it easier, especially for people like myself who consistently fill out the surveys. I hope they leave the pharmacy alone unless they want upgrade it and give it better equipment, otherwise leave Kevin to run it as is or you will have a lot of upset people. Also, bring back marking down your chicken in the deli after a certain hour. It is a waste to see it thrown in garbage when some of us like the discount and the chicken even if it is a little bit older, and most times it is NOT. You want to get a better Yelp review, pay attention to me. I was a market research consultant for more than a decade and I know customer science and service. I love my Kroger and will not switch unless I am forced to do so by management service or lack thereof. read more

Horrible! Produce is less than desirable. The salad bar is small and uninteresting. Lunchables in the Manager Special bin that expired in July, 2013!!! The worst check out staff than at any of the local Kroger locations. Just go to Eastgate, Milford or Anderson. read more

This is the closest Kroger to my house, and I find that I am HATING to go here lately. I'm finding that I'd much rather drive a bit of a distance than to shop here. One thing that Kroger can't control is the patrons - I swear everyone who shops here smokes Marlboro Red and reeks smoke combined with dirty body. As I said, that's not Kroger's fault. What irritates me beyond belief is being attacked by employees asking how I'm doing. I'm not in the store to speak with every person wearing a management shirt; I'm in the store to buy groceries and get the heck out of there. I kid you not, one day I came into the store and by the time I got to the deli department (second department I visited, right after produce), I was approached by eight different employees asking how my day was. Are you kidding me? Now, I'm a friendly person, but come on...EIGHT times my shopping was interrupted to say hello to some strangers being paid to make me feel welcome. I felt like I was in a used car lot or in a furniture store being pestered by employees! I'm hoping someone from Kroger reads this and sees how this overkill of friendliness can backfire, driving people away from the store. I'm considering switching to Meijer where employees will leave me to my shopping instead of forcing me to make small talk. read more
